Ff14?

I've been wondering if FF14 will get started as soon as they've finished up with the main FF13, or do you think Square Enix is going to just plop down on FF13 and keep making new 13 games instead of moving onto 14. With 3 titles in development and a fourth that has been trademarked for 13, with promises of the 13 project lasting quite a while I have to wonder if 14 will even be started until several years after the release of 13.
 
Well, the compilation of VII is still going as they develop for the XIII saga so I can see them being particularily busy. Taking into consderation how long it will probably take for them to develop a chapter int he Fabula Nova Cristilis saga, within the 10 years they'll probably have about 6 games (pehaps?) within the compilation; depending on if there hand-helds, which they may have more. I reckon they'll start pre-production on XIV mearing the end of the compilations.
 
I dont know is the truth, FF seem to come out quite quickly and hopefully we will hear of FFXIV in the near future.
 
Chances are, they've already started with the scripting and story boards and so on.
I doubt they'll kill off such a successful series though.
 
I don't see the sequels and spin-offs as any threat to an eventual FFXIV (or XV, etc.), as X-2 and the VII Compilation didn't stop XII or XIII from coming down the pipe. Since their FF plate is filling out a bit more with expansions on preexisting properties, yes, I think the wait between numbered installments will be longer, but nothing as dramatic as 10 years between each. I agree with Tyler in that I imagine they're probably kicking ideas around now for FFXIV.
 
It's not like it's the same guys who make everything, so they can easily have several teams and projects in production at the same time. And still under supervision of the usual creative force (since they're more like executive producers anyway)
 
Yeah as Tyker has said, they are maybe in the process of creation right now. As far as Im aware nothing has been published regarding it as 13 is still waiting to be released yet.
 
I'd wager that they'll be working on FFXIV the now. FFX was started around the time FFVIII was released and although they are working on a slightly longer list of titles than they did back then with all the spinoffs etc they will at least have sort of plan down of what it'll consist of.
 
I agree with some of you. The trend of the FF series seems to be going in a fast pace, and I believe that we'll eventually have a sneak peek of Final Fantasy 14 later down the road. Square Enix are producing vast spin-offs, yes (although that is an annoyance to many out there), but I'm figuring that's a sign that they are not stopping from continuing the series anytime soon.

I don't know about you, but I really wanna play FFXIII first before pondering about FFIX. It's just too soon for me. :P
 
Final Fantasy IV is probably being thought up as we speak and a crew is being formulated on who to design, produce, etc. Every crew for each FF series is a tad bit different (not much) but they get started well before we know what's going on through media.

I imagine that we will start hearing news about FFIV's production, but the ideas are no doubt already formulating and jobs given out.
