There are like what 50 summons in Dissidia that still have not been confirmed. Dissidia has a total of 5O and I hope that Bahamut Fury will be in Dissidia. Yeah Bahamut is in every ff game so he will be there.

Well not in every single one, and always a summon. But yeah as both summon and reference. (i.e FFXII Bahamut is a fortress)

Well Bahamut is the only consistent summon to have appeared right from FF1. He wasn't a summon in all of them (e.g in FF1 he was the Dragon King) but he was still there. I don't think there has yet to be an FF game that doesn't reference him in some way.
In FF12 he doesn't appear physically but appears as a fortress.


Not exactly, In this FF, somehow most summons are enemies or summons who aren't that much famous such as those. And there was 70 summons confirmation, including: Knights of the Round, Gilgamesh, etc... But that information disappeared. (much probably was a fake source or rumours)

I think the 50-70 summon estimate is still canonical though and real news. I think it's just the summons themselves that have been called into question. I think people spent too long dreaming, and some idiot decided to release it as news.
Either that or a Square-Enix employee let it out... Then he was shot, his leaks covered and all holders of that information debriefed accordingly. :P


This is not Namco, its Square Enix. And Red XII? he isn't a major character such as Cloud, Sephiroth, Aerith, Zack, etc. He has no rivalry/conflicts with Sephiroth (main villain) if with any character at all, and thats all this game is about; A Hero and a Villain and there must be a strong rivalry between both. so... NO!

Perhaps with Hojo? Hojo capturing him and experimenting on him etc? But it would be a push. Perhaps a member of the Gi Tribe would be in order, but since we don't ever actually see these people alive it would be pretty silly for them to add one in this game.
Though I agree with everyone here that Red XIII would be a nice addition and amazing and unique to play, the fact that this game seems fond of pairing characters up means that some of our beloved characters will find it hard to be added.. Unless, of course secret characters are to have no villain/hero counterparts, in which case they will be granted freedom to give us whoever they wish.

Auto-Activating means that the summon activates when you perform a specific action, Manual, you trigger with R1+O.

And yes there are two Bahamuts FFX and FFIV one, same goes with other summons they represent other FF's.

There is also Neo Shinryu summon, but unfortunately only Chaos possesses it.

I think summons are too much of a tradition in Final Fantasy to be taken out... Perhaps they might appear as something to pick up on the battlefield to be able to summon?

Meaning: Maybe a star's the key. A star appears on the battlefield whilst battling, you run and pick it up. OMG, it summons Bahamut. And the FMV for Bahamut summoning shows. Enemy takes serious damage. Done?
 
I would rather them to be allies like in FFXII but twice as faster without all that time waiting for supreme attacks or waiting 89 seconds for them act them disappear, rather they fight alongside you and act as fast as you do. By all means as controllable characters if possible.

I have to admit that the whole summon-to-attack-then-disappear is getting annoying.

In DISSIDIA they just appear as sprites mess with enemy or yours stats and done, simple yet quite effective as it can sometimes mean victory in the last instant.

Read the previous post by Ruka carefully..... There (apparently) is a Gilgamesh waiting to be summoned
