Feet First into Hell: A Halo ODST RP Sign up and OOC

Name: Leonus Maxxus
Nickname: Leo
Race: Human
Sex: Male
Age: 24
Affiliation: Marine
Rank: Lance-Corporal/specialist
Specialty: Weapon Specialist
Appearance: His cold dead eyes are a fright to those that cross him, but a comfort to those that know of his impressive service record. He is short and light, but as strong as any other soldier. He has a tatoo with the name Ashton over his heart, but why is a secret, anda scar over his left eye.
Weapon: M7S Caseless SMG
M6C SOCOM sidearm
Armour: Standard
Personality: He is known mostly for being a "Cold Fish" type. He does not engage inthe merriment some enlisted men do, but neither is he completely without feeling, as he shows after a battle in which a man is lost. He's cold, but no Iceman.
Brief History:
His knowledge of strategy has served him many a battle with the covenant. His ability to set traps and build ambushes has saved his life and that of his former unit a thousand times over. Then one day, a few weeks back.
Our unit(Special Ops) was out on a routine training mission, preparing for the covenant to arrive in the area, when they did. We were out gunned, out manned, and outflanked. By all rights we were dead men.
Using a machine gun, we managed to knock down a damaged tree and takeout the main force, but nore of them still remained than of us. I watched friends and allies drop, but also enemies doing the same. Then, just as I lost hope, ODST arrived. They were magnificent. They cut down the last three or four remaining Covenant members, and saved my skin.
I was relieved, and started to tell the boys we were safe.
But they never heard me.
Their mortal part never heard anything again.
That day, I swore to use every ounce of my power to end the covenant once and for all. All of my tactical expertise is against them.
The ODST team that saved me had no tactical man with them at the time, and could not get me to my base for a while, so I am traveling with them, acting as their tactician. I hope I do well enough.
Because I really believe that tactics are our only real adavntage here.

Firion, it is my fault for not checking if i managed to change it, but i was planning to restricct age to be around 23-24 ish and above. Cardiac is 22, but he is the green guy. So if you can, can you change that to 23?

Also, to Firion and Squee, all default specialty class will be called weapon specialists (taking your clas name so you dont have to change squee). Ill take into account of your characters tactical superiority though Firion.

Other than that, everything seems in order. so its PENDING

srry for the dp.

i thought Spirit was the only one that jumped? It was a last minute thing as the professor got kidnapped and jumped by itself.

In any case, it looks good, so it is Approved Firion.

Now that our squad is filled up, we are almost ready to start. All that is left is the two Elite profiles and we should be good to go. For all those that still wish to join, Marines are open as well as convenant. I have done away with the last Lance Corporal position as that would make the squad too big.

Alright, So I'm good to go then ^^ I was short on time but I pinched it in, so I was worried it would be very bad.

As a weapon specialist I can use any weapon I like? And I can also mend to any? Veiws on different things change I just wanna make myself clear what I meant was that I can understand any weapon because I was trained to do so, so it could even come in handy to make some? If you allow it.

Meh, i've been struggling on what the hell my history is going to be. I got something of an idea, but no inspiration on how to write it.

Sorry it's not there. I'll get it eventually.

Meh, doesnt really matter too much.

@ Squee: Well, Weapon Specialists are what all ODST's are. They are all profficient with most weapons. That means they will not blow their own head off using a weapon they arent familiar with. However, the class means that you are better than marines, but lower than that of specialists in the weapon.

What i mean is if your character shot 10 shots with the sniper, most likely 6-7 will hit, while mine (the sniper) will hit 7-9 while a marine would hit 4-5.

More often than not, we wouldnt be making nor repairing our weapons. It gets damage, we ditch as there is very little time for it. Rudimentary repairs are possible, but its easier to grab a weapon from a body.

All weapon specialists are more profficient with the Assault Rifle and the Battle rifle than the other classes, just to even the field.

If you want, ill give you the marksmen position. Its prbably better if i wasnt in a class.

Yeah I suppose when you put it that way it makes sense, but I was just thinking it would be cool to take apart an alien weapon for components and put it with like a shotgun or pistil or even sniper ya know what I mean? Marksmanship would be cool.

Also while I was away, I was playing Halo with my girls brother so I have a good idea of the world...we do most fighting on the Halo? Also my favorite two weapons for humans were the shotgun and sniper rifle, but as alien weapons I liked the needler and the plasme pistol or whatever you call, the pistol lookin thing you charge and shoot or just shoot. dual weild this set was epic.

It would be cool concept in taking apart the alien weapon, but storyline wise, humans arent even able to recharge the spent energy they use, much less understand how the gun actually works, so no dice on that.

We won't be on Halo (the ring) as this is set near the end where we are fighting on earth. However, the aliens are still the same, except the flood has yet to arrive.

And really sorry to bust your bubble, but duel weiding is somewhat impossible for a number of reasons. We are going by the ODST game, and since we cant duely in that ( i know it sucks), we cant here. Besides, the pistol uses a friggin huge round and is around 25 cm long in itself. The covenant plasma pistol is 36. Without strength augmentation like the chief, controlling the weapons together would be unweildly and inaccurate. Plus, we are using the socom model, which is longer in any case.

So, ill drop the marksmen class so you can have it okay?

yeah thats fine, and since I never have thoroughly played Halo, is there any other important character/ weapon/ artillary/ vehicular weaponry that one shopuld know, since I only had a good 3 hours of the game while I was away? Will we be able to jack enemy vehicles?

Ah HA! Glad you asked. The one crowning glory is that we can jack ANY ground vehicle. However, for roleplaying sake, we will cut off jacking the wraith as that wont make it fun. We will be having a vehicle scene so yes, jacking vehicles are possible.

I will right a detailed post on needed info later on to assist those that are unfamiliar with the universe.

Alright I'll wait for you guys to do that because I still have questions that are unanswered. That will indeed be a huge help ya know?

Well since Tipsy is busy at the time, she did ask that I start listing the Covenant Races...well here ye go:

Unggoy/Grunt (Monachus frigus): The Grunts are a Covenant species from the methane athospheric planet of Balaho. Joining the covenant in 2142, the Grunts are the lowest caste of the Covenant Hierarchy, and are mistreated by the higher ranking Brutes and Elites. they are named Grunts due to them being used as Slave Labor and Cannon Fodder. The Grunts are only determined in the presence of their leaders and will not hesitate to retreat at the leader's death.

Weapon of Choice:
Plasma Pistol, Needler, Plasma Grenade, Fuel Rod Gun

Kig-yar/Jackals (Perosus latrunculus): A Covenant species from the Moon of Eayn. Joining the Covenant in 1342, while the Jackals are in the same position as Grunts, these avian-like alien species are seen to be superior in de facto terms. Jackals are quick and agile an are excellent snipers on the battlefield.

Weapon of Choice: Plasma Pistol and Defense Gauntlet, Covenant Carbine, Beam Rifle

Kig-yar/Skirmishers: A subspecies of the Jackal, Skirmishers, unlike the more defensive Jackals, use guerilla tactics against their opponents, a stable of warfare they used during their Pre-Covenant Days.

Weapon of Choice: Plasma Pistol, Needler

Mgalekgolo/Hunters
(Ophis congregatio): The Hunters are a wormlike race from the Gas Giant, Te. Joining the Covenant around 784 BC, these 12 foot tall, 6 ton behemoths are in reality, a colony of worm like aliens known as Lekgolo. These worms are used as both heavy shock troopers in the form of a Hunter, or as a Heavy Assault Vehicle, like the Type-47 "Scarab".

Weapon of Choice (Hunter): Fuel Rod Cannon/Assault Cannon

Yanme'e/Drones (Turpis rex): An insectoid race from the planet of Palamok. Joining the Covenant in 1112, the Drones are essentially an insectoid like race whose social behavior deemed similar to that of Earthlike insects such as ants and bees. There are capable of incredible strength despite their size due to their gravity being twice that of Earth's.

Weapon of Choice: Plasma Pistol, Plasma Rifle

Sangheili/Elite (Macto cognatus) One of the races of the original Covenant, they hail from the world of Sanghelios. They joined the Prophets to form the Original Covenant shortly after war, and served as the main military leadership of the Covenant, and has been this way for over three millenia. Their Social Structure is based off that of the Japanese Empire post-Sengoku period

Weapon of Choice: Energy Sword, Needler, Plasma Pistol, any Covenant, Brute or UNSC Weapon that can be carried

Jiralhanae/Brutes (Servus ferox): The newest of the Covenant races, having joined in 2492. The Jiralhanae are an ape-like species from the world of Doisac. Their constant civil war has led to several periods of discovery and re-discovery. Their berserker-like state as per the brutes makes them dangerous, even to SPARTAN's.

Weapon of Choice: Brute Spiker, Brute Mauler, Brute Shot, Spike Grenade, Firebomb Grenade, Gravity Hammer, various equipment

Huragok/Engineers (Facticius indoles): The Engineers were a race that was created by the Forerunners, and joined the Covenant as the scientific and engineering arm of the Prophet's. While naturally unarmed, they can be rigged with bombs and served as suicide bombers.

Weapon of Choice: None

San 'Shyuum/Prophets
(Perfidia vermis): The Prophet's are the religious and political leaders of the Covenant since it's founding in the Writ of Union in 852 BC. Despite them being physically frail, they wield tremendous power over the other Covenant races, making them the most dangerous of the Covenant Races.

Weapon of Choice: Grativy throne (can be outitted with Lightweight Plasma Cannons or Fuel Rod Guns)

I had some questions...

Will we all not know each other at the beginning of the rp or will we already have been a team for a while? This would greatly affect our first post...

Also, when the aliens shoot us, is that wound like a normal gunshot, or since it's energy does it put a burn hole in us?

How fast do the energy bullets travel? Can we see them?

Thats it for now, al I can think of...

In this order:
1. We would already be a team from the beginning, whether we'll get ground side as a team depends on Tipsy

2. The Plasma Pistol, Plasma Rifle, Beam Rifle and Energy Sword are all energy weapons and are designed to burn a hole, however it does not go in as deep as a standard bullet wound though.

The Covie Carbine and Fuel Rod Gun uses non-depleted Uranium Pellets/Rods, while in reality it would cause radiation sickness, for the sake of the RP (as it's the case in game) it's pretty much packs the same punch as a 7.62-mm Round (Carbine) or a High Explosive Rocket (FRG) respectively.

The Needler uses crystals to home in on a target (so long as it comes into view) and can pierce and tear through flesh. 7 of these shards cause a reaction which will make you explode, pretty much.

All Brute Weapons (sans the Gravity Hammer, which pretty much knocks whoever your attacking to the state line) uses solid ammo, Brute Spiker, Mauler and Spike Grenade use superheated bone shards and work like the Needler only they don't make you explode. The Brute Shot is essentially a Grenade Launcher and is treated as such.

3. Energy rounds travel as fast (if not faster than) human solid shell ammo, except you can see them is a wide variety of colors.

What I meant for the first was, will we have been assigned that team at first or will we have already been a team for sometime? Basically will we have known eachother already...

basically, except for the green guy I think, we might be have been a team for a while now, I don't know that for sure, it's best you ask Tipsy on that one.

I actually was asking Tipsy :monster: but I think it would be best if we were a new team so we could rp differently. See I think it best if we didn't because we could have everyone explain themselves, this helps on character developing and there would be some features that they are not proud of they may leave out that would show up later :monster: But I'm willing to play this either way...

We will have one team, which is my team. Squad name wilol be thought of later. Unless we can scour another 5 players, we cant have another team. Plus, if we have another team, Billy would have to shoulder the team leader position as he is co hosting with me.

There is a solution for this. ODST drop into the planet in pods frpm a movins starship. That means they are scattered. Optimal drops mean that the troopers generally land within a block or so, but wars a bitch isnt it? It tends to mess up the best case scenarios, if you get my drift. Billy should as hes played the game.

However, we all dont have to be together for an extended period of time. ODST has a high casualty rate. The ones that have stayed with me the longest will be probably billy as the gunny and maybe Firion or silver shadow, probably silver shadow. You and Firion can be sort of new with only two or three missions with us while cardiac is completely new.

Especially considering that people really don't know where the pod will land, especially when it is like a city-like atmosphere. But as they say in the ODST, you have to be crazy enough and tough enough (though not as tough as full scale SPARTAN's) to do something that crazy.
