What was your favorite point in the whole game? NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS ON OTHERS COMMENTS! You can agree w/someone else though...

My favorite part of the game is pretty highly debated in my mind.... I love the point where Squall saves Riona in space, but I adore the video where the party invades the Eden's school (music and action is great!)

I think mine is either that or the very end, Irvine and his video camera... lol
Although I'm very much looking forward to playing it again, because since it got released in Japan I'm kind of hoping it will be released on the PSN store in the EU soon...
 
I loved when it felt like all the characters were going to war. Some of my better memories of this game include invading dollet with the landing music and the uniforms had a really cool affect. Also fighting off Galbadian soldiers from Garden and then running through a field of just pure chaos to get to the other Garden just had an amazing feel to it.
 
The Space incident. I hate the run up to it, Esthar pisses me off, but I love beingin space and watching the Lunar Cry, Adel getting released etc. Rescuing Rinoa in space pecks head though ¬_¬

But I do liek the whole thing, even having to kill all them damn propogators. Ilike the scene in the cabin when they are on their way back and the music. And my favourite scene EVER is the sorceress memorial rescue. So like, taht whole part of the game

I'm a sucker for the soppy stuff hahaha
 
Wow, I don't even know... how many am I allowed to list?

Just off of what I can remember right now:

1. Opening Movie. Does this even count? Haha.

2. SeeD Exam (Dollet Landing). I loved that part so much! The music and the cinema made it so dramatic. Plus, I played the demo too many times, so by the time I got there in the actual game I was already in love with it.

3. SeeD Ball. The dance is too cute! Rinoa's facial expressions and Squall's reactions crack me up every time. And it's good music. (But the Training Center part afterward is tedious and very awkward.)

4. Sorceress Parade. Again, so much drama, but in a good way. On the first playthrough I had no idea what was going on, of course,
so I was thinking, "Irvine, why?! Just shoot!"
And I freaked out when
Edea attacked Squall. But then I was happy later when I got to use her in battle and that was her Limit Break. (I really like Edea, by the way.)

5. Squall and Rinoa in space. Just the part when they're flying back home in the Ragnarok cockpit.
I never catch her when she's lost in the spacesuit on the first try. Never. I always mess up. That part gets on my nerves!
The music got on my nerves the first time, but on the next playthrough I was able to appreciate the scene for what it was. Oh, Squall, you try to be so tough, but we know you're a big teddy bear, haha.

OK, I cheated and listed too many. I'd have to go with the Sorceress Parade just because of the insanity of everything that was going on.

I adore the part where Squall gets Rinoa from the Sorceress Memorial. Even not so much the FMV, as the part directly after, where they're still holding each other and then end it in a really tight hug. (now why couldn't Squall do that back on the Ragnarok, when they got their suits off? haha)

The Garden invasion part is really dynamic, love that. Awesome FMVs that make you think "holy shit, the galbadians are really damn trained, how are those kids gonna handle it?"

The lunar cry is an epic FMV. Love watching it and seeing how many monsters I can recognize, hah.

And this may be odd, but I really love the very beginning of the game, before you go to the Fire Cavern. Running around and looking at everything as though it's for the very first time. Feels nostalgic.
 
My favourite part of the game is the very first SeeD mission with Zell, Selphie and Seifer. I was always wondering
"Will they make it back to the beach? Will they all survive?"
Plus, it had some really funny scenes. Like Zell trying to look all cool, Selphie being uber hyper as usual. Plus, the epic music in the background helped to set the mood!

So agree with you. They are epic scenes.

Also I love the opening FMV, it still gives me goosebumps to this day 10 years on. And Squall dancing with Rinoa, its his smile at the fireworks and Rinoa sticking her tongue at the couple who bump into them lol.

Also Laguna
and Raine together again. Its so sad knowing shes dead :(
When he gave her the ring I almost cried!
 
The Dollet mission was really good, like the original Balamb school uniform and having Seifer in your party is a great one, even though he screws up on his leadership role he is a great fighter and is a great summoner either that or is being Seifer biased >=<

Also liked the Dance Ball where Squall and Rinoa first met and its great to watch them dance around to the music and watch Squall to go from annoying faker <get-me-out-of-here> to whoa, I'm really starting to like this new female stranger !!

Then the very first Laguna flashback and when he finally has the courage to speak to his crush Julia and they speak to each other and they really begin to show chemistry together and you get to hear Eyes on me in the background for the very first time..

But the overall winner is the Rangnork where Rinoa is on Squalls lap and Squall is really open to her for the very first time and they share thoughts emotions together and they hold each other close as Eyes on me plays in the background <for real !>

Got goosebumps down the spine just remembering it.. :tighthug:


 
I enjoyed the FMV of the battling Gardens and then the infiltration of Galbadia Garden. The game began to pick up again around this part after the snorefest that was Disk 2.

I also loooooved Ultimecia's castle. The music was fantastic. I really enjoyed the Gothic atmosphere of the castle and exploring all the different rooms. I actually didn't mind fighting all of the Bosses either.
 
I loved Squall and Rinoa in space, and I also loved when we found out that Edea was who she was. And the basketball court scene
 
I really liked the scenes with Julia. I liked the general atmosphere and of course her lovely piano music. I also thought it was one of the nicer flashbacks with Laguna's group for a change.
 
The conversation with Seifer before each of his fights. Especailly if you have Rinoa in your party for the last two.

Arriving back at the Garden on Disk 2. And then meeting NORG.

And those are the top ones.
 
I love the dance scene, it just seems so classic. I love the song that plays there, too, I have it on my ipod.

I love the scene where idea falls from the ceiling, that was really really awesome. I also love when it turns out she was good, because I liked Edea alot.

Lastly, I liked the part where Selphie suggests that they blow up the train. That made me love her character, and I laughed so hard.
 
there are many excellent parts but its very hard to choose one , i loved inside the lunatic pandora , and ultimecias castle - it was brilliant because it was very tough and took a long time , the deep sea research facility was a cracker aswell!!.
 
I like the parade where Rinoa was attacked by the Iguions.

For some reason I always liked Galbadia Garden and fighting the Slappers in the hockey rink.
 
I haven't seen or played Final Fantasy VIII for so long I can hardly remember specific points. Here goes:

1) Esthar City- When I set foot into this huge, Blade Runner-esque city, I immediately thought: "Wow!". It really looked impressive despite the out of date PS1 graphics. It's also a huge metropolis, even on the world map. Plus I am a huge fan of sci-fi. x3

2) Deling City- It screamed "Paris!" to me, probably because it was based off Paris. I've never seen anything like that in a Final Fantasy game before when the location looks so realistic yet nostalgic (I lived in Paris when I was younger!). Though I hate the sewers, I loved the fact that you can hire cars and visit the Galbadia hotel, especially during the Laguna dream sequence.

3) Capturing President Deling- The train scene and the uncoupling you had to do. Many people didn't like it, but such a thing wasn't common in a Final Fantasy game then, and it seemed interesting and unique.

4) Squall and Rinoa on Ragnorok- All I'll say is- it was a beautiful scene and where Squall really flourishes.

5) Balamb VS Galbadia- Two schools fighting each other literally? That was a rather original idea. The FMV was done beautifully and really showed how tense it was.
 
Probably from the point where Squall and Rinoa took the Ragnarok from the aliens and to the point that he realizes what an idiot he'd been and rescues her from the Sorceress Memorial.

There's a lot of tension in that point of the story and some important things are made clear, whether they are stated directly or not.
 
For me, Its always been a tie between The Waltz for the Moon scene, and Edea's Parade. Waltz for the Moon was just such a lovely little scene, and it has my FAVORITE song in pretty much all of Final Fantasy, and I LOVED the dance, My brother and I used to try and recreate it when we were little lol. Edea's Parade was just an awesome FMV to me because Edea just looks so elegantly evil and in charge and awesome, not to mention I love ANY scene with Edea in Full CG. She REALLY didn't get enough FMV time in my opinion. /Fangirl :XD:

I HATED the Ragnarok part of the game. It took forever to do and to beat and the drawn out scene between Squall and Rinoa. Ughhh.

My favorite part of the game was right before they faced Edel and Seifer had taken Rinoa. For some reason I loved that cut scene alot. One of my favorite bits in the game. That's all I can remember for now. haha.
