Favorite Old School Games

Super Mario Bros.(NES)
This is the first video game I ever played. I was so happy when I beat the first castle (stage 1-4). It took me a week.

The legend of Zelda (NES) and Zelda II (NES)
I really loved those two games. I think the second one had harder enemies but I managed to finish both.

There are alot of NES game I loved playing such as Megaman, Punch out
(Tyson was really hard), Kid Icarus, Ice Hockey, Ninja Gaiden, Lode Runner.

When I moved on to the SNES, I discovered Squaresoft and the rpg world. Game such as
Breath of Fire (I and II), Chrono Trigger, FFIV, FFVI, Lufia (I and II), Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Paladin's Quest and Super Mario RPG are among my favorite SNES games. The will remain classics for me.

Super Castlevania IV - I love how so many SNES games needlessly had "super" at the beginning of each title. It was so pointless yet so awesome. Anyway, yeah this game's pretty beastly. It's got awesome music and some addicting ass gameplay. One of the two games I really ever feel the need to plug the Nintendo in to play.

Contra III - This games pretty damn fun, too. But virtually unbeatable on one player, unless you just totally have the game down in your head.

Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake - I have the Subsistence re-release on the PS2, but the game originally came out in 1990 so it works. Great game. A major improvement over the first game, which is probably my least favorite in the series even though I like that game too. The only thing is after playing it, I lost a little bit (and I do mean a very LITTLE bit) of respect of Metal Gear: Solid on the PS because so many things were reused for that game.

Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness. Cornell was simply awesome, and it was, in my opinion, the only true 3D Castlevania done right. There were very few 'blind spots' where the camera angel would go jerky like in Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness, the levels were more fluid, the platforming was leagues better, and being a werewolf was just plain awesome. That game needs to be remade!

Next on my list of awesomeness: Shining the Holy Ark. I loved the First Person appearance of walking through the areas, using sprites to attack enemies preemptively, the graphics were beautiful, the music was even more beautiful, the storyline was flawless. It needs to see the light of day once more, despite that it was made on the Sega Saturn.

Speaking of Sega Saturn games, Albert Odyssey: Legend of Eldean. Not only was it an epic RPG, it was hilarious! It even made fun of itself in many different ways while still maintaining a serious, heart wrenching storyline. While combat was rather boring, the storyline was simply perfect.

Breath of Fire 2. Best BoF in the entire series. While I preferred the dragon system of BoF 3, the storyline of 2 was wonderful! And of course, my two favorite BoF characters, Rand and Katt! I would love to see this remade and add in a few more endings and side quests.

And finally, nothing says Old Fashioned like Wizardry! The first ever computerized dungeon crawling game. No real storyline, but tons of exploring, puzzle solving, and difficult as all get-out! The kind of game you love for the challenge or you hate because of the challenge.

N64 games aren't WAY old school, but I've got a few listed.

Super Metroid (SNES)
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
Banjo-Kazooie (N64)
Super Mario 64 (N64)
Goldeneye 64 (N64)
Astal (Sega Saturn)
Super Mario World (SNES)
Kirby's Dreamland 2 (GB)
Pokemon Red/Blue (GB)

Shining Force 1+2- Awsome Stradegy RPG's The story's have nothing to do with eachother so you can play one without the other.

Super Mario RPG- Ok seriously this is an awsome RPG! Mario teams up with bowser to fight a new villian!!! ok and theres also Peach and a couple new characters... I highly recommend this game.

Super Mario World- Awsome game Very fun. I can play this game 100000000000000 times a year, and I think I have.

Super Mario Kart- Now this is the only Mario Kart I ever liked. I really like the battle feature and the races in here.
