Anyone of you had the misfortune of having Gilgy use the "excalipoor"?

No, seriously - what the heck was all that about? I saw Gilgamesh come down against Griever, and I was like "Yay! Gilgy's gonna own Griever". And then he unleashes the true power of the sword.

1 hitpoint was reduced from Griever. Is that attack supposed to have some status change or something? I find it really hard to believe that a GF can do so little damage....

Haha yeah, Ive been on the recieving end of that several times, it's not amusing in the slightest

I think I got that attack more than any other of his. It just rendered him completey useless for me and I silently wept for Odin everytime :gasp:

Ah yes I've seen Excalipoor far too many times and every time I see it I wish for Odin to come back.

Is that attack supposed to have some status change or something?
No I think it's just supposed to screw you over.

I don't think I've gotten anything other than Excalipoor.
I'm not sure what the ratio is supposed to be, but the amount of times I've gotten that compared to others is ridiculous.

Maybe junctioning magic to increase luck will make that better. Not sure, but still. :)

Obviously Odin and Gilgamesh's attack won't work against all enemies, while they may kill some Bosses, most of the time they are ineffective against them. That's what happened here, you can't deal a status attack to Griver hence the 1 point damage.

? No, it's not.

1. Gilgamesh has no status attacks.

2. How can you prove because of bosses not being affected by status attacks is the reason that this attack Excalipoor is only worth 1 HP of damage?

3. Gilgameshs attacks, 3 anyway, should work against bosses. zantetsuken is the only one not 100% guaranteed to win against bosses.

I don't know, I just assume that what people said is right, I always go for Odin last so sometimes I dont even get Gilgamesh.

I didn't say I could prove it, I was just guessing since I've never seen that attack myself, well maybe once, but I don't remember it.

As for the one-shot kill, I hate it, and if it works against bosses it sucks even more, main reason why I hated Yojimbo :D.

that attack was the unleasher of a really fun moment im playing with a friend in ulti's casstle and when i just wanna kil him appears gilgamesh and my friend was like " omg wtf is this dude " and he attack with "excaliburg oxidada" (spanish version) what no sounds so poor like his english name, then he attack and buff, 1 hp !

I was having some issues on either Heaven or Hell, so I summoned on the almighty Giglamesh to come save me.

Yeah, that didn't work too well. Excalipoor did 1 HP to the enemy and I died -.-

Come to think of it, Gilgamesh probably just served as a kick to the balls. Before him we had the mighty Odin who pretty much guaranteed an instant win and then he was replaced by someone who hits for 1hp more often than not.

gilgamesh only comes into his own when on a no junction AND no level up file, as he is the only way of destroying tripoint without getting owned. as he can deal over 3000 to it and you just need to renzo him into oblivon.

what the hell? you summoned gilgamesh like the other gf's....that doesn't sound right? as for the question yeah i had the man use the sword in question and I lol!

Gilgamesh's Excalipoor does 1 damage. That's what it does.

It's from FF5, when, upon finding the fake excalibur in a chest, he decides to fight the party, and immediately discovers it's the piddly 1 damage a hit sword. It's a callback. Unfortunate that so many people are having bad luck with it.

Whatever! I think if Odin and Gilgy were to go 1 on 1 Odin would PWN Gilgy's face!
In FF5 Gilgamesh was a major doofus!
The comforting thing though is that GFs can't die since they're made completely out of magic! They just appear somewhere else! Maybe future generations could make use of Odin! (...and bitchslap Gilgy!)

Oh man, I hate Excalipoor. It's only funny when it doesn't happen in a boss/extremely high level monster fight.
Which is why I usually train up all my characters (on the Island closest to Hell) before I step into the Lunatic Pandora so I can take advantage of Odins awesomeness (unfortunately, he only appears why I'm fighting weak monsters).

You can have him summon everytime and win every fight by it.
right before Quistis cracks her whip if you hit R1 you have a 90% chance of having Odin appear. and Zentizeken is the only one guaranteed a kill the rest just deal damage.

Oh Cool, thanks for that. I had no idea you could summon Odin :P

I do believe he is steering you wrong. I've not seen any credible source reporting this as so, and numerous reporting that Odin has a straight one in ten chance of appearing, not modified by any user input.
Unless he can provide some evidence to support this claim, I would not believe it.

As for Excapoor, there is a 1 in 4 chance of it getting used, and at least it's better damage than a Zasetsuken on a boss immune to 1HKO.
