It's a fairly new anime which has been done very well. They just finished making season 1 and they're currently making season 2 at the moment. It has a very interesting storyline and each character has their own personality. This has been the only good anime I've seen since Gundam 00. I was wondering if any of you guys have watched it and who your favorite character is.

My favorite has to be Shizuo (the guy in my avatar) because he's the strongest and has a bad temper which makes every scene he's in hilarious. He's not short like Edward Elric or anything, but I'd have to say that their temper is just about the same.

It's a pretty great anime alright, I watched the first five episodes in a night and I'm going to continue after exams, Izaya is by far the best though, his hobbies are hilarious.

Yeah! I love the feud that Shizuo and Izaya have, but I think I like Shizuo a bit more because he overreacts about everything. When it comes to hobbies though, I do think Izaya has the best ones.

Shizuo and his vending machine throwing is awesome as well, delighted to hear it's getting a second season too many animes have only had 26 episodes. How does the rest of the season compare to the start, pace and story wise? Are there slow parts and stuff or does it maintain the greatness?

Well what I think is that they're following the manga, but they've decided to cut off season one here so they can have more seasons. I mean the main point of the story is to find
Celty's head
which still hasn't been found so I think the greatness will remain. Also I believe things will get a lot more interesting considering how
the three friends know about each other now
.

I heard of Durarara after seeing the massive ending parody fad that was going on DA and Youtube, so I finally got around to watching the anime, and at first, I found it a bit naff, but as I watched more and more, I found myself getting more involved in the storyline, the characters, and the way their stories are linked together, and before I knew it I was helplessly hooked. Hell I even ended up watching Baccano after I caught up with all the episodes.

It's an immense show, I love the Izaya vs Shizuo rivalry going on, the pair of them are immense characters, and even with his antagonist role, I find it hard to completely hate Izaya. He's just so immense. I'm really looking forward to Series 2.

Yeah I think that is just started off slowly, but it picked up by the third or fourth episode. The way every character was linked together did throw me off because many animes fail to keep it consistent and then they throw in a whole bunch of other stuff which just frustrates me because it gets confusing. I was surprised that Durarara could actually keep it consistent.

I love the anime, pretty sad that its ended now. Here's hoping to an adaptation of the other volumes. Believe it or not, there's.... 6 more volumes to adapt as of now.

Durarara was put together really well, I really was absorbed by how the plot unfolded, which is rare for anime (Often I watch just for the characters than the plot) but Durarara kept me watching for both.

I'm anticipating the next series, and hoping to god it'll be released on DVD here soon, I would willingly buy it, and the game when and if comes out over here.

DRRR!! isn't getting a 2nd season :mokken: It apparently will get an OVA though.

IZAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Seriously, nobody can resist his trolling powers except for Simon (who is untrollable) and to an extent Namie. Everyone else gets mad just by standing near him.

Both him and Shizuo are really awesome characters.

---

The anime was really good but the ending was... nothing special.

---

I am HUGELY disappointed by the amount of people who have watched this but haven't watched Baccano!, one of the best anime ever made. I mean, seriously? If you think Durarara!! is good then watch Baccano!, seriously. Same producers, a couple similarities but different anime (set in the same universe, but Baccano! is in ~1930)

Agreed, Baccano! is very awesome.

In fact, the main reason I watched Durarara! was because I was expecting it to be just like Baccano! I'm pleased to announce that it was while being unique at the same time.

5 flying vending machines/5

Ok finally back to watching it I'm on episode 7(and trying to doge all other posts in here out of spoiler fear!) it's even better than I remember and I have the luxury of having more time to properly watch it and as such understand it better, Izaya is such a hero he make my heart smile.

Lol i remember watching this anime a few months back. I liked Selty alot, A Dullahan with a conscience :) the whole "Saika" infection thing was pretty awesome too.

The artwork is what got me mostly interested though, such beautifil, proportionate artwork!

I watched it, as there were a lot of people who recommended me saying it was good and what not, I gave it ago.... but it was so boring I could die, it had the same feeling I had when I watched "Welcome to the NHK", like watching 1 episode would feel like I'm watching for a whole year.

I didn't like any part of it, sure there were a few mysteries but meh, it felt bland and boring to me, soundtracks, characters etc etc they were all poor, imo. -.-

By the way when I say I gave it ago I watched like till episode 14 that's like more than half of the anime not 3-4 episodes. -.- It never changed anything of the view I had on it, it still was so boring and not interesting in the least.

I was intrigued by how all those different stories came together. Like, there were a lot of different main characters with different stories, but they all came together in an un-abrupt fashion. Plus the concept of Dollars is pretty awesome.

And and and...just an OVA?

Wait, you people sure it's just gonna get an OVA? I thought it got renewed for a 2nd season...hmmm......
Anyway, the anime itself is incredible. It's definitely right up there with Baccano! on my list of favs. To think the only reason I actually came across Durarara! was because I saw Izaya's version of Renai Circulation.....heh.

I actually just finished this series a while back. I really liked the feel of it and at first I thought it was kind of boring but the second season was really nice. What disappointed me though was the ending of the second season. I thought something really big was going to happen because of the way things built up but instead everything just sort of ended with some convenient happy ending and I was left unsatisfied. I felt like this anime had really great potential though, it just didn't get as big and interesting as it could have.
