Dungeon Crawlers

Silence swept over the trio after the strange mage left. Slowly, Shenorai pushed herself to her feet, her hand still upon the handle of her shotgun. After her careful eyes swept the area twice, she gave a sigh. Her hand relaxed and she looked to Julius.

"Are you all right?" she asked, concerned for him. "Just who the hell does that guy think he is, anyway? He fires upon us first and deems us annoying?!"

Julius sheathed his sword and placed his right hand on his forehead. he sighed, somehow he was quite disappointed for the last battle and was looking forward to someone as challenging as either Arthvader or Shenorai. He then approached, the grass under his feet was flattened and small rocks were crushed with each of his footsteps. The air was damp and cold, of course it was late at night and the previous battle they had lasted for a few hours. They were still away from the village and due to the recent event, it wouldn't be wise to stay there any longer.

"Shenorai we leave. Take everything necessary and let us depart soon. The town must not be so far away from here so I think we should arrive here by sunrise."

With his left hand Julius reached his pockets and pulled a single small, crystal bottle that contained a mysterious sapphire blue liquid. He then extended his left arm and presented the bottle to Shenorai.

"You were hurt, take it it will help you. Try saving your healing powers for a moment that we might really need them."

Julius turned his face to the ground, his hair fell over his forehead and his cheeks, and his sight was expressionless seemingly lost, as if he were wandering through the immense emptiness of his heart. It was getting too late, sunrise would be here anytime soon, so it would be best for them to quicken their movement in order to avoid another ambush like this one.

Shenorai took the bottle with a nod of thanks. However, as a downside with her healing, she couldn't use it upon herself. She pulled off the stopper and took a few long sips. She didn't drink everything, just whatever she felt was needed for healing. After replacing the stopper, Shen collected together everything that was hers and put them in the pack. She even placed the potion in her pack just in case. At least they still had the armlet.

She looked to Julius and saw that he hadn't moved yet. She came closer and gently placed a hand upon his shoulder.

"...you all right?" she asked again. "Like you said, we should get going..."

((Aye Shen))

Julius kept walking through the vast road until he could finally sight a town nearby. Julius knew that they required a place to stay and some rest after such an exhaustive mission, so he quickened his pace even though he was quite tired.

Julius yelled to the others from afar telling them that they were almost there. He saw that Shenorai and Arthvader were following and that they weren't attacked ever since their last battle against the mysterious FFGuy. Julius wiped the sweat on his forehead; it was actually a hot noon and their
weariness was not helping either.

"Shen, Arth quicken the pace...we are just a few steps away...God finally. I would love a tasty and refreshing glass of orange juice right now....hmmm...and some cake...."

"Some cake?" Shen chuckled, finally catching up with Julius. "Tea sounds good for me. I could go for a nice hot cup of roast green right now..."

Shenorai found it a little odd that she caught up before Arthvader did, for he still had the horse with him. She went on ahead and led Julius and Arthvader back to the usual spot.

"Well, I'm going to go ahead and go to the research center. I've already got a place to stay there. You and Arth can come with, if you'd like. I'm sure they'd find somewhere for you to stay, since you've helped me."

As they went to the research center, Arthvader made an announcement to the group.

Arthvader "Listen you two, I'll be resting outside the research center, and i'll also be training to prepare for tougher battle ahead, like for one case, ExDeath(Which Gilgamesh mentioned after his death.) I also have to learn to manage my rage more carefully ever since the battle. I'll step out of the research center when night falls. I'll also stand guard just in case if there's anyone who might go after the amulet."

Julius bowed respectfully before Shenorai and agreed to her proposal by nodding with his head. He then went towards a restaurant that was nearby to enjoy a wonderful meal 'cause it was already noon.

"Thanks Shenorai, by the way I would like to speak with you later about that armlet but we'll do that later. Now we must rest, eat and enjoy what free time we have left until the next mission. Oh and Arthvader, thanks for the help...also remember that armlet that Shenorai found is also important"

Julius turned to stare to the whole town; the wind blew gently and lifted his hair a little. He caught a deep breath, smiled and then sighed. He felt really relaxed to be in a peaceful place like this. Julius then went towards the hill where he could get a panoramic view of the whole town.

Shenorai gave the two of them a genuine and thankful smile. Quite a rare thing to come from such a cold woman as herself. Shenorai bowed her head to both of them briefly, straightening up afterwards.

"Thank you both for your help," she said before Julius left.

Shen then turned and walked into the research center. It looked more like a giant starfish, if one had an aerial view. A giant dome made up the first floor of the center, which had smaller domes piled onto each other as it grew to seven stories. Five small corridors reached out at equal distances and bore solid tents of concrete to serve as the different doorways inside. A rather odd shape for such a facility, but no one really complained much about the center as it is.

Pushing open the doors to the northern entrance, Shen walked on inside. The walls were painted a dulled maroon and the wooden floors were color washed to match. Although, with so many people and bookshelves and lounge chairs scattered across the room, no one really payed much attention to the room's color. Shen strode over to the center of the room, where a round receptionist desk was placed between a pair of wide spiral staircases. An elder man with white strands barely covering his head looked up at Shen from beneath his spectacles as she approached the desk.

"Ah, Lady Eterna. I assume you've found the amulet?"
"I did Simon, yes," she replied, peeling her pack off of her back and pulling out the amulet.
Simon took it in his hands with frail, yet careful fingers. "Hmm, yes..." he mumbled as he turned it over to take a look at all of the details. "Marvelous treasure, isn't it? Well, we will have this back in your room before the morning along with your payment for your trouble."
"Thank you," Shen replied, nodding respectfully before heading up the stairs.

The second floor was just a library of sorts and the third floor was a study hall. The fourth floor was reserved for guests as well as the squires who burned the midnight oil long enough to fall asleep upon their research manuscripts. The fifth floor was actually a dining hall. The sixth and seventh floors were two different observatories: the sixth floor for those observing the land and the final floor for those observing the heavens.

Shen continued up the stairs with her hand sliding along the banister until she reached the fourth floor. The halls here had shades of blue to help calm tired minds and give the feeling of serenity to those who lingered here. The doors were colored a powdered blue and silver numbers marked the frames. Upon reaching room 4 at the far end of the hall, Shen pushed the unlocked door open and entered.

Her room wasn't all that glamorous because she requested it that way. It had its necessities, at least. Shen dropped her pack beside the door, shut it, and flopped down upon the bed, stretching out as she did so. She didn't fall asleep though, for she figured that either Julius or one of the other fellow Dungeon Crawlers would walk in on her before too long.

Upon leaving the battle FFGuy appeared in another section of the caves, the room was well lit considering there was no visible light sources and there was some sort of glyph at the other end of the room.

FFGuy approached the glyph and a giant wolf like monster appeared, it had a huge feathery tail and huge red fangs, pale white in colour and glowing black stripes slithered down its back. Blood was dripping from its fangs meaning it had not long ago eaten.

FFGuy unleashed his weapons and faced the beast.

Moving on...))

A brisk knock on the door brought Shen back to consciousness. Apparently, she had dozed off and it was early morning now. She sat up and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes as she mumbled, "Enter."

The door opened for a mere moment before it was clicked shut again. A familiar red-head hauled a heavy sack onto the nearest table, quite relieved to be rid of its weight. She brushed her scarlet bangs out of her eyes and smiled cheerfully at Shen.

"I brought back the amulet with your payment," she noted, very wide awake.
"Did you?" Shen yawned. "Thanks Kyria."
"No problem," the young mage smiled. "Oh, and I brought up a few more bottles of healing water for ya. A little birdie told me that you were on your last one."
"Well, aren't you a nosy one?" Shen chuckled.
"Nah, that's my brother."
"So is there anything else Simon wants me to get?"
"Mmm...not yet. He pretty much said to go ahead and relax for awhile."

Kyria walked back to the door and placed her hand on the handle. Remembering something, she turned back to the bounty hunter.

"Oh, and another thing. They're building an extension of this little guild you have over in Crysta."
"...Crysta? Why there?"
"Isn't that where you're from?"
"Kinda..."
"They figured it'd be a little more convenient for you."
"Thanks for letting me know."
"No problem," Kyria beamed. "I might be going to Crysta myself one of these days."
"Are you, now?"
"Yep. I heard about the Mage's Guild over there and thought that I could learn some more magic."
"Gonna go off on your own?"
"Well...I was thinking of going over as soon as the guild over in Crysta is finished..."
Shen saw what she was getting at. "I see...have us escort you there while we make our own move."
"Pretty much, yeah."
"We'll see," Shen said, getting up and walking over to the sack.

Everything was there, all right. The coins for payment, the amulet, and several bottles of healing water.

"Did you give everyone else their payment yet?" Shen asked.
"Um...Simon said you might've had new recruits. I didn't want to give away the money to the wrong people, so..."
"I get it...I'll pay them personally."
"Mkay...well, I'm going to be in the library."
"You take care."
"Of course!"

And so, Kyria was gone. Shen spent the next ten or fifteen minutes just sitting there and sorting out coins in their proper pile. Once that was finished, she pulled out some smaller sacks for the coins and picked up the amulet. She turned it over several times in her hands, admiring the intricate decorations upon it.

"...go figure...they didn't leave a note saying what it does."
