For me it depends on the anime.

Most of the time I prefer to listen to the original Japanese cast, but it does give you a bit of a headache always having to read the subtitles.

I remember watching Pokemon and Sailor Moon as a kid and they were always English subbed and so I could never watch them comfortably with the Japanese Cast.

So yeah it just depends on the anime itself and how well they do the Dubs.

Subbed, definitely.
I'd rather hear the original, Japanese voices of the characters. And besides, some dubbers tend to change the meaning of what a character is really trying to say.

At least the good thing about Dubs is that you can turn your head for a second and not pay attention and still know what's going on but with Subs you have to pay attention to it unless you understand japanese.

Hahaa I agree with that!

I went for dubbed. However I do watch both subtitled and dubbed anime because I'm not fussed XD It's just that sometimes I'm too lazy to read the subtitles and like Vircon said, I can look around and still understand whats going on instead of reading subs all the time :)

There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

I don't like reading things I'm watching so subs get a point off, but sometimes the English voices are really absurd.

But in the end, I prefer dubs because I can actually watch what's going on instead of getting lost trying to read and watch at the same time. Plus, if I wanted to read, I would just get the Manga since most Anime are based off of that anyway.

i will deal with dub and sub as long it is used in the right anime. am i right? and if dub and sub is in the wrong anime, then i just won't watch that show any more.

I'm much like Kandy, for me it depends on the anime and the voices cast for the english version as well.

Gurren Lagann is definitely one of the anime's that I can actually tolerate listening to in english. I've never watched the japanese version (only seen snippets to hear their voices) and never plan to, I much prefer the english voices to the japanese one, namingly Leeron.

I can stand Full Metal Alchemist in english as well but some other anime just has really poor voice actors who need to be fired. Utawarerumono is a great example, the anime is watchable in japanese but english VA's just make you want to pull your ears right off. I don't see how they can put out something like that and think it's okay D:

English is also convienient, mainly because I can do other things at the same time, where as subbed.. well, you have to be tuned in to be reading. D:

i think i'd prefer subs rather thans dub bc sometimes the dubs sound all weird & im not used to it. Naruto is the only dub that doesnt bother me.

I much prefer dubbed. Even if it's really bad, I'd take it over subbed. If the dub is too bad, well at least it might have some comical value.

Depends on the anime, Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo have some amazing english speaking voice actors who make the lines sound so smooth and life like unlike Bleach who has terrible voice actors so i'd go for the sub with that one. I find at times though after reading the manga or first listening to it in japanese when i come to hearing a dubbed version the accents and pitches are way off to what i'd expect, like with Hellsing, japanese Allucard sounds bad ass compared to the dub and i feel Victoria's voice should have been less pathetic, she's got a stereotypical british accent.
It just seems like at times the studio cannot be bothered with hiring decent voice actors and i'm not sure weather its' because they cost too much or they're in short supply. Thankfully i know how to read so i don't mind subs
