Almost final. Looking for a better font. Other than that I think it looks quite pretty :gasp:

Scrolled through the sci fi fonts on dafont, and the font I happened to be using in the one above was in there. Must've gotten it through some random font pack I dl'd. Oh well. Went with the StarJedi font for obvious reasons:

Crap, that reminds me that I forgot to update this :gasp: Licky said he didn't like the green background and that made me start to not like it all too much. Here's how it looks now:

I showed them to my friend and he said "clean it up a bit" and I didn't see how the ripple effect did much but make it a bit messy :P So I just removed it.

Ah, I like the new version better. Changing the green part of the background was a good move. This work is really solid.

Maybe throw in some of the techniques you learned from that tut would be great, and even experiment a little on your own. You got the lighitng down, so yeha. xD
 
Yeah, didn't know what text to use :hmmm: Stuck with the Star Wars text until I find something that would fit it better.

Derp. My SOTW entry. I couldn't think of any quotes till a day after the deadline, so I went with a SONG quote :monster: Taken from the song "Float On". Sig's a tad messy overall, and I'm still not satisfied with the font. But oh well. No point changing it now. I made it at 5 am, after all (and proceeded to fix it a bit the next morning at the horror of what I had created). Hal voted for it and no one else :grin: Thing I like about this is that even though it's messy, the effects do look kinda cool :gasp: And I know I blended the render well because of how shitty the cutout was that I did :ryan:
 
:lew: Wouldn't have fit the theme if it didn't have text :P I'm still working on finding good fonts for them.

There are sooo many things I want to do differently with this :gonk: But I'm not sure what to do. I wanted the background to be blueish and I'm terrible with C4Ds :sad2: Need feedbacks and have someone tell me what to change :gasp:

Okay added a few gradients (doh forgot about those) and a C4D + removed a few things. I like it better now.

Face was too bright. Could blend better :hmmm:...

I cutout the render and it had jagged edges so I covered them with a clipping mask :monster:

i can see the idea you were going for. I actually like how it goes from a spacy-ish background into pure whiteness. Those shapes you have there kinda ruin it for me though. Maybe apply some kind of darkness layer, remove the shapes, and well yeah. It's cool beans, though bro. :)
 
The C4Ds? :gasp: I don't really like how it looks too much without them, and I put them there to help it blend more :P

Just whipped this up because I'm still awake and want to be tired. I like it. Except the text placement. I can't find a place for it to go where it'll show up and I'm too tired to keep trying now. Oh well :grin:
 
I use Photoshop CS5. Not much of a difference from CS3 and CS4 besides a shiny new logo every time and a few things moved around. I know GIMP is a nice free alternative, but I can guarantee that I nor anyone else pays for Photoshop.
