So looneymoon (the canadian sex beast that she is) brings up an interesting point, why do Final Fantasy characters seem to lack nipples? It's not just the women either. They even go as far as to cover up man boobies in order to preserve their de-nipple-fication. Take Wakka for example. He's not wearing a spaghetti strap bra... but they do have his Blitzball waiters cover up his mipples (man nipples). Someone please explain to me why this is the case.

Seeing Zack shirtless was not nearly as satisfying without them. D;

Sora had them in KH, however. o_O Is he the only lucky guy who gets them?
 
I just did a google search for "Zack Shirtless" to see what you were talking about. I won't post the results... all I have to say is I'm hoping that guy had surgery or I'm extremely jealous of Zack Jr.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS BOTHERS ME. Seriously, people without nipples seems so weirdly alien to me. And yes, by alien I mean non-human, green critters from Mars.

Another example within FF: Vaan. His whole chest is exposed and ahem, NO NIPPLE.

and I am highly suspicious of Lulu's posession of nipples. We seriously should be seeing something with how low that dress is.
A part of me thinks they are always really erect or something, and thats how her boobs don't fall out.

Do you know what really disturbing? the fact that I myself have never even noticed this. Ever. Just hasn't occured to me that Final Fantasy is nipple -less. What.The.Fuck.



However for those who don't know already, there is a paticular part of FF X-2 where you see Le'Blanc's (or however you spell her stupid Frech name) nipple. I know of one cut scene, not sure about any othes though.
 
FYI, you cannot take note of something that isn't there.
Maybe they don't have them so that people don't focus on them which would subtract from the character and game itself.
Maybe it's because there are no people having babies, except Lulu in FFX-2, so nipples are redundant.
There is, no doubt, an almost inexhaustible supply of theories to explain away the lack of nipples.
 
Auron doesn't have underarm hair either. Infact along with no nipples, they don't have any kind of body hair other than what is on their heads

Maybe they omit these things because they think they look more asthetically pleasing... who knows...I just think it looks daft
 
It's a game, every character in a game has to be perfect. No disgusting things like underarm hair. Besides we're talking about different planets of the world (FF world)
Or maybe they're so tiny that we can't see them?

Anyhow, although Wakka apparently lacks nipples (except for one extremely disturbing picture I happened to run across. As a sidenote, if you ever read a sign that says "Wakka Pics Here"... make sure it doesn't link you to "queerclick".com)... anyhow where was I? Oh yes, his brother, Chappu apparently has a nipple (yes, singular). Maybe that's why his brother was so depressed at his death? The only nippled man in Spira died because of faulty Al-Bhed technology.

Actually.... :wacky: A friend of mine who is Japanese use to be obsessed with why men have nipples. I could ask him why in games and animes they don't draw them in.

It goes the same for naked women as well. They never draw nipples in. I just thought it was because they wanted to keep the game rated T. As for male characters.... That's rather strange.

You might be right. It could be a Japanese thing.
 
Yea, I knew it was for both genders... but somehow I think our mods would get upset if I slapped a bunch of female anime nudes up on the boards. Damn double standards. Sexist bastards...
 
Yeah I noticed the no nipples thing lol. Yeah but there are really alot of exposed characters. Yeah and what part do you see leblanc's nipple because I did not even start x-2 yet. If you see it why is the game rated T lol. Yeah aNd the Japanese just like sexy girls like whats with the big boobs all the time oh you know its Japanese style. Why do the japanese do this? Oh well because they love seeing every bit of hentai they watch. Anime nude girls are not that disturbing lol. Yeah and why does Yuna not even wear a bra in x-2 like come on the game should be rated M. I bet they just like doing it for girls and not guys lol. Hentai is also extremely popular in Japan!!! Look If they ever make ff rated M I think you would be able to see the nipples lol, especially for the girls!!! Another reason is why is every Final Fantasy chick hot? Well you know thin body's big boobs and some hentai images which fans are dieing to see lol.

Anyhoo. The nipple thing never actually struck me until now. It's wierd beyond all logical reason, FUBAR (for those who don't know what FUBAR is, wacth the film: saving private Ryan, you won't regret it!)

I did notice the underarm hair thing though. Man it was wierd. Some macho dude with no bodily hair?! They made him masculine and cool in every way and the lack of hair just ruins it. Epic fail.
 
Could you imagine how terrible it would be if Americans adopted this? Chuck Norris with no body hair... that's just wrong. WWF wrestlers with tan tape over their nibblets. It would just be creepy.

It seems though that Square-Enix is moving towards more nippled characters as they go. In FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX there is not a nipple to be found. However, in both FFX and FFVII: DoC... there are nippled characters.

I have taken note to the body hair thing too. I always assumed it was because they wanted to maintain the pretty boy image. I think I remember a little after Advent Children's release, there was this one part we catch a glimpse of Tifa's armpit (scandalous!) and people were debating whether the dark patch was either armpit hair or just a shadow. Lol.

Just like to mention - in Trance form Zidane has body hair all over :B

Auron (FFX) possibley shaves his armpit hairs, but if any FF character should have bodily hair it's Basch (FF12). Where would you find a razor or wax in prison?
 
Maybe they tortured him by burning it off. I don't know.
I agree with the whole "they would look better with nipple's" thing.
It kind of bothers me too. To make a game so realistic and not add nipples.
If you don't want people to see them, then don't make them take their shirts off.
Although I would be sad if they decided to do that. :(

Yeah it always bothered me when he took off his jacket to fight. WTF no underarm hair? Does he shave his pits? cuz if he does hes losing points on the badass swordsman scale.
As for the pic of wakka his nipples are there, they just happen to be covered by his top. They would definately draw nipples for an FMV sequence.
 
Do you think that this is done for some form of visualization or aesthetics in drawing? The same way many cartoon characters have three fingers and a thumb?

I know this should not count as they are trying to reflect 'Real Life', but it is a thought...
 
I think I remember reading somewhere that is Japan it's a form of censorship or something. Like, in Sailor Moon during transformation scenes for example. They'd think it innappropriate to expose little children to nipples, even though some of the relationships in that show are way more disturbing.
