What is it with websites having reviews on this game when its not even out yet it kind of ruins the whole suprise of the game if you read a review, yes i know you dont actually have to read the reviews yet, it just annoys me to see them up already when the game is still 3 days away from public release!

It is kind of annoying to run into spoilers for something when you really don't want to be spoiled :/ But there are a lot of people who like to know things ahead of time, too, so that they can decide better whether or not they want to buy the game, especially if it's a significant financial investment. For that reason I do think it's okay to have the info available somewhere, but it just needs to be quarantined really well so that people don't run across it by accident. Going to a web page full of new game reviews, for example, is probably not a good way to avoid spoilers for FFXIII, but they also need to make sure that if you navigate there by mistake, there's nothing in the review titles that give anything away--big bold letters saying "X PERSON DIES AT THE END" or "Y IS REALLY THE VILLAIN, NOT Z!" or anything like that. I don't know if there are any out there like this in this case, but I'm sure there will be someone who does it on a fan site somewhere after the game has been played by enough people. I've seen it happen in plenty of other places--people standing on line at Barnes and Noble when Harry Potter 7 came out shouting out the ending of the book, etc.

It's to give people a taster of what's to come if anything. There aren't even spoilers in the reviews or else they'd get in big trouble if they did contain them.

a lot of people read reviews to see if they want to buy the game when it comes out. I expect to see reviews before the release of a game. Same thing with movies.

Reviews are there as a general way to tell the public whether or not a game is good or not. They tend to appear just before a game is released to inform gamers beforehand so they have an idea as to whether or not the game will be worth getting before they buy it.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by reviews spoiling the surprise. What surprise? They don't contain spoilers (and if they do, they won't get away with it). If you mean the overall score - isn't that something really important that you should know? If the game turns out to be appalling and you have bought it beforehand without knowing this, then it isn't good for you.

Reviews from one aspect are there to help people getting a general feel for gameplay, however some reviewers do tend to go a little too far and may reveal too much detail on a certain section of a game. This is why I tend to stick to independent reviewers as I've seen game spoiled before by official reviewers because they wrote too specifically on a certain section of a game pretty much telling you what to do.

When it comes to RPGs like this I never trust the main stream reviews. I prefer to come to places like this or RPG specific sites and see what the real rpg gamers have to say about it because despite the impartial review claims. They still let people who don't even like RPGs review the games and then you don't really get a good review for rpg gamers you just get some guy who was forced to play its opinion. So far what most reviews have complained about are the things I will probably like the most in the game.

websites such as gamespot and the rest get early access to the game much like how movies are submitted to rating organizations before the release so that they can give the audience a proper heads up on the content.

But regardless of their reviews, i honesly think that 13 was a pretty damn good game.
