Yeah, apparently we're getting a new Crash Bandicoot game (announced at TGA 2022).

From the trailer, it looks a bit like Crash Bash (that I never played) mixed with Overwatch (that I have also never played).

It is too early to say whether this has me excited or not. I guess not yet until I see what the gameplay is like properly.
The way they edited this confused me a little too. At first it made it look like Coco had become a villain. But then I noticed N. Tropy on Crash's side. So I think it just randomly assigns characters or allows people to pick a red or blue team rather than it being heroes vs villains or something. But then I saw Coco put on Uka-Uka (the evil mask)... Who knows what is happening there, unless the different masks are their way of showing a red team vs blue team concept.


Any thoughts?

If I do eventually get it, I'm sure Prince Oberyn Martel will kick my ass, just like he did at Crash Team Racing.

I am so sorry, Crash fans. You had a small re-renaissance with the remastered trilogy and a new mainline game, but the powers that be at Activision do not appear interested in greenlighting another proper follow-up. But that's okay, you can join the Ratchet and Clank Club too.

It looks to have plenty of potential if you're after pure, unadulterated fun, and depending on the business model, this could be a winner. Personally I'm not thrilled by the idea of an Overwatch-like team vs team setup, as it kind of triggers that minor anxiety in me. The same thoughts about how much I don't want to be the weak link and that I'm the reason why the team I've been placed in doesn't win always circulate in my head. It's why I prefer an all-for-one kind of multiplayer game, like what you have with Fall Guys' solo mode.
