The whole connecting BBS characters with KH/FF characters thing brought something to my attention~

I get the lucky charm thing. You know, Kairi's lucky charm symbolising the connection between her and Sora.
I get the darkness and light thing.
I get those.

But it's kind of annoying when they purposely make Terra and Ven resemble Zack and Cloud, and make their names connect with the KH protagnists (sp) and all that. Come on, you can have a game without too much symbolism.

Is this annoying anyone else? D:
 
I agree, they're going over the top trying to link everything together. It's nice to have some symbolism in a game, a sort of connection between to characters or places etc but it has to be subtle IMO. The Zack Cloud - Ven Terra thing they've got going on is a bit much.
Then again, KH is becoming increasingly repetitive so I shouldn't be surprised.
 
I think the whole Terra/Ven thing is more design style thing than anything else but with the name I think there will be a genuine purpose behind it being a prequel so it will probably shape the story of Sora/Riku/Kairi/Roxas which is why there'll be a lot of links. Take 358/2 Days,
certain people see (visually) Xion as Ven
though I don't know why because I can't read Japanese, role on the English version >.>
 
Terra and Ven is supposed to ressemble Kairi and Riku, like Sora and Roxas I think. And I don't think they're like Zack and Cloud, they're awfully different from that. But, then again, KH is a FF and Disney crossover, and you should expect that in some ways. :monster:
 
Sorry, but I love the symbolism and connections with the characters to each other personally myself. It's one of the main things I like about KH. It's a grand story being told from different POVs that connect in the over-all scheme of things *shrugs*

As for the design thing, Zack/Cloud and Terra/Ven were designed by Nomura, so while I agree that there's some heavy similarities, it's not likes there's a connection between FFVII and KH >_>

Themes of friendship, most likely, but that can be seen in a lot of games; doesn't mean they're all connected, right? ;D
 
I don't see the Cloud in Ven, I think he looks more like Roxas than anything. o_o Terra does look similar to Zack, but really only the early/younger Zack before he changed his hair style. But as Sab said, this is an FF/Disney crossover, so it's kind of to be expected that there would be similarities. Really though it's too early to say whether or not Terra is anything like Zack. We'll just have to wait and play the game.
 
It bothers the hell out of me, but every game has it's quirks.

But I'm a gamer... First and foremost, I play for the game. The story and graphics really don't matter as long as they're not horrid enough to capture my attention and move me away from playing the game.
 
In gaming, I mainly look for good plots. I think Kingom Hearts has one of the best plots out there! Truly magnificent. And I, to be honest, have a lot of theories.

I'm not sure if Terra was intentionally made to be like Zack, but I definitly know that Ven was not made to be like Cloud. Ven was created to look like Roxas (Or Vice-Versa, I'm not sure which) in order to implement some major factor in the Kingdom Hearts storyline. While I have theories on this subject, I will not share them with you, as they would take far too long to write.
 
Ven's similarity to Roxas must mean something. As for him looking like cloud...I dont see that. BBS should defenetly clear up things for us when it comes out. I have so many speculations that I could fill up my entire screen, but I will just post them as I go along
 
It's not to do with Zack and Cloud, is it?
Terra represents Xehanort and Ven represents Roxas.
I think the whole connecting thing is clever and makes me keep asking questions. Like; Wait.. I thought he was.. hang on, so who IS that?!
