So lately here for a while, I've been strolling around the forum, and I noticed something, seeing I wanted to collapse the SB, and I couldn't. I just basically collapsed all the areas I barely look at, and sometimes when I'm not talking in the SB, it's nice to just be able to get rid of it. There used to be one.

That button right there, can you techies add it to the SB again? :hmmm:

That will not be implemented on vB3 due to the technical difficulties involved in creating collapsible objects when dealing with variable object names.

In other words, because there can be more than 1 shoutbox, making it collapsible is more difficult than if there could be only one.

How, all you do is add a button like there is with the billion threads? :gonk: Please fix it.. :sad3:
 
In vBulletin 4, it is as easy as "all you do". However, this is not the case with the outdated software this forum is running.
 
Meh... That really stinks, tbh... =/ It's like Vb3 gets the shite side of everything.

Tbh, it does :wacky:

Please understand that I personally have 10 products I develop and support - beyond the fact that it's impossible to make our products look and feel identical across both vB3 and vB4, vB3 makes up less than 30% of our installed userbase. This rate is also rapidly dropping.

It becomes a case of "do we spend an extra 2 hours adding a feature for <30% of our users, or do we spend 2 hours adding a feature for 100% of our users".

As impersonal as it sounds, it all comes down to what's good business, I'm afraid :(
