Who IS Cissnei, exactly? For a while, she is friendly and sweet. Then for a little while, she seems to be your enemy. Then your friend again...and THEN you find out that Cissnei isn't even her real name!!! So who is she really? Well, after much thinking and pondering, I've come up with a theory...she's Elena! It makes perfect sense! Elena wasn't in CC at all! Plus, you never learn her name...it's deductive reasoning. It's just a theory, but I'm stickin' to it. What do you think?

That's not so.

Cissnei and Elena are both in Before Crisis, at the same time. Cissnei's name is also 'Shuriken.' Elena's sister is in Before Crisis as well, and her name is 'Gun.'

So, yeah, sorry to spoil the theory.

Hmm, I don't think so. I heard that in Before Crisis, Cissnei was there as well, working for the Turks, and Elena was still in high school or something. So...that can't be possible.

Edit: Oops, ninja'd! xD

There is absolute no way she is Elena. Besides, Elena has blonde, short hair. Remember? Cissnei has red, wavy hair and considering both girls are in Before Crisis, I think that should make it obvious that Cissnei isn't Elena. The only things we know about Cissnei are that 'Cissnei' isn't her real name, that she was raised inside of Shinra. We don't even know if she has real parents or if she was a test tube baby. We do know that she had feelings for Zack as well. Cissnei was torn between her job as a Turk and her feelings for Zack, that's why she seemed like an enemy. Her heart gave in though and that's why she let Zack and Cloud go free.

Actually, her real name isn't Shuriken. It's whatever you decided to name her in Before Crisis, since you get to name all of the playable Turks yourself. And as previously mentioned, there is no way she can be Elena because they are both in BC and are obviously two competely different people.

Cissnei's job is to do whatever she is told, so that is why she becomes Zack's "enemy" at one point in the game. She cares for him a great deal though and risks her own job to save his life.

>_< I thought I had this one. I totally forgot about Before Crisis! I didn't play it, so I wouldn't know. This whole compilation is screwing with my head! Okay, that theory is down the toilet, so now my question is this: Did you like Cissnei?

Also, Tifa, she couldve gotten her hair str8ened, cut, and colored. I'm gay, so I know :neomon:...well, not in perfect detail, but...

...and admit it, you think I'm stupid for thinking Cissnei was Elena...go ahead...I can take the abuse...

Nobody ever once said you were stupid, Gaix. Seriously. We were just pointing out that there is no possible way Cissnei is Elena.

Nah, you're not stupid at all.

I've known people who played and beat Final Fantasy IX, and didn't know that Kuja was a guy.

I liked Cissnei though, because she seemed to care about Zack, but was forced to abide by her duties. Obviously she's just a plot device, because she could never have any sort of love with Zack anyway, since it all revolved around Aerith.

Square Enix sure does like to make a lot of the pretty girls loveless in their games. =/ Tifa, Cissnei, Quistis, etc.

Only thing I have against Cissnei is...her weapon. A shuriken? Come on. Only Fuujin from FF8 used a shuriken, and it was lame then, too. Cissnei's a Turk, she should use some futuristic weapon...not a boomerang with sharp edges.

contra, how can you forget yuffie? Shuriken..

Anywho way to come out the closet their Gaix, Its cool, Now im just waiting for Davey Havok.
Anywho I liked how Cissinei sort of was the third wheel in sort of a love triangle (Im well aware that Zack didn't display any feelings for her) between Zack and Aerith and herself, although we seen this before in the original, it brings another point to the notion that Cloud and Zack's lives are very similar.

nd Tifa your sig and avatar are beautiful =)

Nah, you're not stupid at all.

Thank you. I certainly feel stupid.

Anyway, I agree with you on the crappy weapon. The second I saw it, I immediately thought of Axel from KHII. That's quite original. But Cissnei is a likable character because, like you said, she had feelings for Zack. If only her feelings did not intefere with her duties. Had she taken him in at Gongaga, Zack might have lived to see Aerith once more.

Actually, Tifa isn't loveless, but I'm not going to get into that..

I thought Cissnei was a very likable character. She had the same energy Zack had, and I almost wished that she and Zack could've worked out. If Aerith wasn't in the picture, they certainly would've been a good match. Also, nobody thinks your stupid :P Hardly anybody has played BC, so your mistake is understandable.

True... or it could have also happened if they had arrived before the army... but to say the truth... how come they didn't find Zack? I mean, if they couldn't find him, at least they could have found the army, right? It shouldn't have been as hard to find a whole bunch of people and a lot of helicopters... At least they should have had the chance to get there and... do something...

Yeah, I gotta agree with that too, even if she was 'only a plot device'. And regarding the last part, it's true that hardly anyone has played BC, in fact, most of the people I know didn't even know of its existence until I told them, so yeah, the mistake is forgivable, :P

Same here actually. I continued playing the game this morning and got to that part where
Cissnei helped Zack and Cloud escape
and I can feel a bit of a chemistry between the two, although it may be from Cissnei's part more than anything. I still think that Zack and Aerith were a much cuter couple though, but if she wasn't in the picture, Zack and Cissnei definitely could've worked out, I think.

I like her voice a lot, especially her eyes. The expressions she makes looks almost real, as if you can really tell what she's feeling. Of course, the same could be said to Zack and Aerith, but Cissnei not really being a main character, it was something worth to witness.

... you know what I was just thinking? What if Cissnei was Jessie? Could it be? Red hair, compasionate, a fighter, and she also sticks to her job. The discription fits.

That can't be right because then she would have to have gotten YOUNGER

Yeah thats true... it does seem pretty lame that they give you no clues as to who she is epsecially after they make a point to make it mysterious in a fairly important cut scene.

I highly doubt that- but it's wishful thinking considering we may never know who Cissnei really is and that only speculation will tame our curiosity for a short while. To add to that list you made, I'll add in that Cissnei would be understandably disillusioned by Shinra if she learnt what happened to Zack- so if I were her, I would abandon Shinra- and switch sides depending on how I would feel. Jessie seems to have a crush on Cloud before the other AVALANCHE members die. If Cissnei were Jessie, Jessie would recall seeing an unconscious blond Shinra "fugitive" sample being dragged by Zack.

Did you like Cissnei?

I didn't like Cissnei at first. She kind of irked me, but she really grew on me as I went through Crisis Core again. She really is a sweet character, that seems to have her own inner conflicts that I wish the players were shown more of in the game. Most of all, I am wondering what happened to her at the end of Crisis Core. You'd think she'd still be with Tseng and the others, but she's not.

Zack and Aerith were a much cuter couple though, but if she wasn't in the picture, Zack and Cissnei definitely could've worked out, I think.

I always felt that Cissnei's feelings for Zack were one-sided, but I agree that if Aerith weren't in the picture she'd be such a cute match for Zack! They were already cute when they first met eachother, lol. And I really liked their interactions when they're talking about Zack's parents.

One-sided feelings?

Oh, I don't know that Cissnei's feelings were entirely one-sided. There's a DMW memory of Zack asking her out to dinner, and she says that she can't because she has a mission or something like that. I'm not sure if this is before or after his date with Aerith. then there's the introduction where he introduces himself to her. Ha, ha, he seemed interested at that point, but she ran off. It seems as though they're attracted to each other, but I'm not sure why it didn't work out. He obviously isn't shy so I think he would have really gone for Cissnei if that's what he wanted. By the end its apparent she's more into him than he is into her. I actually don't think their personalities would be a great match in a relationship. Aeris seemed to play the part of damsel in distress, and Zack happily played the hero to the rescue. Cissnei didn't need rescuing. I thought Cissnei was very cute as a character though. I liked her personality.
