Locke Levea stood on the beach watching his childhood friend Liana gather seashells. She looked so happy collecting. Locke had had feelings for her for the longest time. He began to reach towards her, resting his hand on her shoulder. She glanced back at him happily. This was the chance he had been waiting for. He leaned in for a kiss but she had disappeared into nothingness.

He stumbled into darkness as the world around him began to disappear. Locke stood there, looking around into nothingness when a small girl with blue hair came walking towards him. She was small but here eyes were wide and blue and her facial expression somber. She wore a robe of purple and her hair was put in short ponytails. She held her hands out towards Locke who wondered who this strange girl could be. He knelt down towards her and gazed into her eyes.

“Do I know you from somewhere?” Locke asked in wonder.

The little girl gazed at him with her sorrowful expression and shook her head. “I don’t think this is fair…” The girl muttered as she reached out to touch his face.

“Here.” The little girl said as her warm touch on Locke’s face glowed in a brilliant light. “I’ll give you the power of light. Use it to even the playing field.”

“The power of light? You mean an element?” Locke asked confused.

“Use it to save your world. It’s ultimately your decision to save yourselves or be erased by time.” The little girl spoke as she left in a swift moment, disappearing into nothingness…

<music end>

“Wake up Locke.” Came a voice from far off.

Locke opened his eyes from the strange dream and gazed up at the ceiling of his apartment. He looked up at his mother who stood by his opened window. “It’s time to get up. Liana was just here looking for you. She said something about a new invention of hers you have to check out.” His mother spoke as she left the room.

“Yeah, her inventions never work anyway…” Locke muttered as he arose from his bed and gazed out at the busting town.

His childhood friend Liana lived across the street their whole lives in a big house. Every morning he woke to the view of Liana’s house though he didn’t mind. She was his best friend after all. He pulled on his shorts and sneakers and grabbed a jacket for a trip to her house to check out her latest invention.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“What is it?” Locke asked gazing at Liana’s strange invention.

“It’s a watch but it does so much more!” Liana exclaimed. “It can bring things from other dimensions to our dimension! For example a dragon that is in no way real in our universe can be brought to being by this watch! I call it the Space Time Vortex!”

“I call it lame.” Locke said. “Why do you keep inventing this time stuff? They never work and you could do so much more with your talents.”

“It’s not lame! It can work! I just need to find a place to test it!” Liana said. “I can make it work! I promise!”

“Whatever.” Locke said jokingly.

His feeling toward her hadn’t changed. He really liked her ambitions as an inventor even though most of her inventions never worked. He liked the way her long purple hair framed her face and the way her brown eyes were always bright when she was fired up. She had the brain of a genius but the appearance of a goddess. “Are you gonna stop staring and help me test this thing out?” Liana asked carrying the small machine out the door.

OOC: Map will be up soon!

Snow Stood on the beach, looking out over the water, his friends were all in the water shouting him to join them. He slowly slid his knee length jacket from his shoulders and placed it on the beach, he removed his T-shirt and placed it atop his jacket, his well toned body now on show, he began walking towards the ocean, but as he looked around at his surroundings, he noticed small amounts of ice had began to form all over the beach.

"GET OUT OF THE WATER!" Snow almost screamed to his friends, but it was to late, the water had frozen over and his friends in cased in it "NO!!!" Snow screeched as he fell to his knee's, tears streaming down his face.

a girl appeared, her robes were purple, her eyes and hair were the same shade of blue, she looked down at Snow and placed her hand on his chin and tilted it upwards so he could look at her "do not fear, this is just a dream" she almost whispered, her voice gentle, like that of a child. "the battle of your life awaits you Snow, a one you cannot hope to win as you are" she continued "so i bless you with the power of ice, it may save your friends, but saving yourself is up to you" the girl announced before turning into Ice herself and then shattering into so many pieces it was like dust, and then vanished with the breeze of wind.

--------------------------------------------
Snow sat Bolt upright in his bed, he felt cold, he shook his head and placed his hand on his face "thats one sick dream" he announced "a nightmare in fact" he added before shaking his head and standing up.

Sliding into his jeans and boots, he pulled on his Tops before grabbing his jacket off the back of his door and leaving his home. He was heading for the beach.

Darkness everywhere. Total black. And yet Cedric wasn't scared at all. All around him was darkness that welcomed him openly. However, the absolute nature of darkness, of unwelcome intentions for the world, was set off in one area. It called towards Cedric, but he refused it. Suddenly, a brilliant light shone through and cowed the evil darkness back. Cedric shielded his eyes from the light and managed to see a little girl. "Not everything is stopped by light. You must use the darkness and hide yourself and others from death and injury. "

Suddenly the little girl disappeared and the light blinked out. Darkness encircled Cedric, surrounding him, infusing him. He couldn't see, couldn't feel, his senses were blotted out-

Only to awake as a sunbeam shone through the leaves in the tree he was in. Cedric swore under his breath as he raised himself up, checking to make sure he still had his axe. "What.... was that...." Cedric murmured, gazing at his hand which was currently in the shadow of the tree. "Weird.... well, everything seems normal..." Cedric Wargunsson glanced towards the village and then grinned. He saw a familiar purple-haired woman stepping out of her house carrying a small machine. Cedric jumped down from the branch and saw Locke as well.

"Yo! Locke, Liana, you blowing something up for the 50th time?" Cedric called out, waving at them.

OOC: Sophia may act as an NPC in some posts, as I won't be making posts specifically for her, but she may interact within some of the posts, such as now.

Crimson Wolf and his sister, Sophia, as it was a bright, clear sky and a nice breeze blowing, they were enjoying a relaxing swim by the beach, when suddenly Crimson went from dog paddling through the water to lying on his stomach pawing at the clouds in front of him as the entire environment around him changed to as if he were way up in the sky, on clouds.

With a confused look on his face, he stood up and looked all around him, not seeing Sophia anywhere caused his expression to turn more to a concerned one. He noticed a little girl nearby, who wore a purple robe, and had blue eyes and hair of matching color.

Looking over to her, he spoke out to her, "Where am I? Was I...teleported?" he asked, then adding "Where is Sophia?" he said this more urgently, putting more importance to it. The girl approached him slowly and calmly, "Do not fear for your sister, Crimson, this is merely a dream." she spoke in a soft voice.

"However, a great many battles lie waiting just ahead of you, and as you are, you may not overcome the challenge that is to come, so I gift you with the power of the wind, may the winds favor you on your coming quest." speaking these words as she came up to Crimson and reaching up at his head, not being able to reach the top of his head as he stood six feet tall, she gently set her hand on his snout, being head enough.

As she did this, a strong wind began to blow, "It may save your friends, but saving yourself is up to you, Crimson Wolf." as she finished speaking these words, she began to gradually disappear, and with a gust of wind she had vanished completely.

______________________________

Crimson Wolf awoke from his dream nearby the beach where he had started out his dream at, probably as a result of looking forward to the swim he and Sophia were going to have after they rested.

But as it left off at the end of his dream, there was a pretty strong wind blowing, and as it seemed to be stronger than he was most used to, it calmed to the gentle but refreshing breeze he would often take a moment to appreciate.

Turning to Sophia, who was close by, he told her what happened in his dream, and what just happened then, of calming down the wind when it was gusting right at his face. "What an usual dream. Then you wake up and tamed the strong wind, I felt the change, maybe somehow that meeting with that girl actually was real, and you have some power with Wind, that would be really neat!" she exclaimed, being in her usual cheerful mood.

Crimson was troubled by what the girl told him though, and didn't want his sister to be endangered in any way, so he decided in his mind that when the time comes that he must deal with something that it would seem will be happening soon, that Sophia stay behind where it is safe.

"Sophia, I am concerned by what she said in that dream, I may have to overcome something very dangerous soon, and to have you with me will only be dragging you into serious trouble." He went over to her and set a paw on her shoulder, then continuing to speak, "When the time comes, I want you to stay around here where you are safe. No..it's not a matter of want, you have to stay, I can't just lead you right into harm's way. I am sorry in advance, but something may occur that will keep me away from you for a while, but know that I will be alright, and I will see you again."

Sophia became a bit depressed by this suddenly, and concerned for him. She looked directly at his eyes, then spoke in a somewhat sad voice "But it is going to be so lonely without you, Wolfy..."

"I know, I don't want to have to go anywhere and leave you behind, but I can't bring you into something that sounds so dangerous. I don't know if I would be able to protect you from everything, I can't take any chances on you, I realize this will be difficult for both of us but it is the way it has to be...hopefully we can enjoy a swim at the beach before my time to go comes, we should go now, I may be gone away for an unforeseen length of time in a matter of minutes..." he replied, then gave her a hug before the two of them then proceeded to head off towards the beach.

(OOC: Guess I'm going to the beach then too.)

"Yo! Locke, Liana, you blowing something up for the 50th time?"

Locke turned to find Cedric, his childhood friend from long ago. He smiled and pointed toward Liana. "Another one of her inventions." He spoke. "We're just about to go try it out."

"Yea! hurry or you're gonna be late!" Liana said as she raced them to Rachsh beach over to the north of Guardia village.

"Hey! Wait up!" Lock spoke as he went running after her.

The wind picked up as they ran to the ocean by the water. There were already people there, enjoying their morning and just relaxing, talking, chatting. Liana set her invention in the sand and stood back to wait for Lock and Cedric. "Now Are you ready for a demonstration?"

Cedric sighed and ran to catch up with Locke and Liana. He began to run through his head her list of inventions. Weapon that shot lasers: explosion, dragging to village healer. A machine to heat food: explosion, and drag to village healer. Invention that super-froze stuff and there was no physical way for it to explode: explode, froze surrounding area, and drag to village healer. See a pattern?

Cedric caught up the pair and then stepped back from the machine. "Liana, if this one ends up like that stupid freeze machine which, by the way, defied all laws of physics by EXPLODING while it was FREEZING things, you better come up with a good reason for me to drag you to the village healer. And if that thing explodes and hits me, your going to find sharp pointy stakes pointing upwards in your mattress when I recover."

Half-joking, there. Cedric had ended up on the receiving end of the explosion of a so-called weather machine and was sent to healing for a month. Vengeance? Waiting until Liana left her house and barring every door in it, including the front door with a dead tree trunk. Thereafter, Cedric made sure to keep a bit of distance between himself and Liana's machines. He did not like explosions when they hit him. That angered him slightly more then someone swinging a weapon at him.

You can hit the dude swinging a weapon. You can't hit an explosion. Cedric braced himself for the inevitable explosion and the subsequent dragging to the village healer.

OOC: We have a map yet, I have no idea whre we're going....

IC: Christiane was standing atop a church in Guardia Village, overlooking the beach. She saw 2 guys and a girl together, which made her think, "Great, another one of her inventions." Christiane knew the ramifications of Liara's experiments, though they usually end the same, with the invention exploding in some form or fashion. She remembered the few times that she had to help Cedric take the pair to the doctor.

Nonetheless, Christy decided to see what Liara was going to do this time. Jumping down to the ground, Christiane ran forward towards the beach.

(OOC: Yeah there's a map Kevin with slight description in the discussion thread... It's drawn poorly but I swear there will be other better ones ut up later in the story. Haha! Everyone's at the beach! It's time to head to the dark universe :tehe:)

Liana clicked a control on her invention. Locke watched as the machine whirred and whizzed around until suddenly it stopped. "Huh? No explosion?" he asked.

Suddenly it felt as if he were jerked downward towards the ground and hit hard with a force. With a loud POOF! Liana had diasppeared...

"What the hecks happened?" Locke asked Cedric.

But when he turned to look at his friend he saw that the sky had turned a dark purple and the ocean looked eriee on the beach..."What happened? Where's Liana? Did the invention actually work this time?"

Cedric felt himself being pulled down to the ground. "What the hell did Liana do this time? Well, at least there was no explosion..." Cedric remained standing, and was about to answer Locke when something made Locke pause. Locke asked a few questions, and Cedric turned to look behind him, only to see one thing: the sky was purple! Either Liana's invention actually worked, or something went horribly wrong. Cedric was hoping on the first.

"Erm, Locke? What exactly was it that Liana made this time? Because I think something must have changed in our world. It feels dark... malicious. And coming from me, that's not good. Plus, what with Liana disappearing" Cedric confirmed this with a quick sweep of his eyes "We have no idea how to reverse what she did. I have no idea how her inventions work, and I'm fairly sure you don't either."

Cedric brought his axe up into a wary battle position. "My vote? We find Liana and we leave as fast as we can run. This place may not be friendly..." Cedric kept his eyes moving, searching for any movement.

As Stephen reached the beach he felt something tugging him towards the floor, he managed to keep himself standing, but before he knew it, the sky had gone purple, and everything felt more malicious "oh boy, thats not good" he announced as he headed through the last bit of shrubbery and arrived at the beach, he saw two men, one of whom was holding a large axe, he clenched his fists and looked at them "What happened to this place, one minute its a beautiful day, the next it's like this, Explain what you did" he announced

As Christiane ran towards the beach, she saw the skies turn purple. "I have a bad feeling about this." She thought as she continued forward, finally stepping into the beach.

There she saw Locke and Cedric standing next to a machine. They too were worried about what was going on, if they even knew what was going on. She then realized that it was only those two, and Liana was missing.

"Locke" She said out loud, "Where's Liana? I thought she was with you?"

One moment Crimson Wolf and Sophia were on their way to the beach, then suddenly the area all around him became gloomy, the sky turned purple, and his sister was no longer anywhere to be seen.

He stopped in his tracks, looking around at the surroundings as everything seemed so much darker, "This must be what that girl in that dream was talking about...but she didn't have the dream, perhaps only those who had such dreams are being faced with this, I'm just glad Sophia isn't sucked into this unpleasant place..." he spoke out, thinking out loud as he observed the surroundings.

After he finished looking around at how much everything had changed, he continued on towards the beach, he could see some people there, perhaps they might have answers as to what exactly is going on.

As he arrived there, speaking to no one in particular but out to any and all of them, he said in a surprisingly calm tone for what just happened. "Everything has changed, any of you know what happened to cause this odd occurrence?"

"What happened to this place, one minute its a beautiful day, the next it's like this, Explain what you did"

Locke froze as he saw the strange man headed toward him. He began to speak. "I...We, my friends and I were just testing an invention..."

"Locke" Locke noticed another person heading towards them on the dark beach. Locke recognized her from his village "Where's Liana? I thought she was with you?"

"And hello to you too Christiane." Lock spoke before going into deep thought. "It seems as if Liana's invention actually worked...But it must have some flaws if it only worked on certain people..."

Locke was quite certain that Liana's Space Time Vortex had something to do with this setting. It was strange enough as it is... But suddenly Locke could feel something breathing on his neck. As he turned he was frightened to see a giant monster coming from the water. It's large mouth snapped at him as he dodged back. "Gah! No time for explanations now! I'll fill you all in later!" Locke spoke as he felt something from within rise up into him.

He felt like he could take on this beast, like he had an irresistable urg to fight. But he wasn't much of a fighter from what he knew. He curled up his fists and began to get into an unheard of fighting stance. He wanted to fight this creature, no to Destroy it. "It's time for you to die..."

As Stephen watched the large Dragon come from the water, he gritted his teeth, "well your not the wild Animal's i normally knock down, but I'll take a shot at you" he announced as he sprinted towards the creature, his fists Clenched, "get some" he shouted as he got closer, but the Dragon was one step ahead and swung it's tail into him, knocking him flying backwards into a tree, he slowly picked himself up and as he brought his hand up to his face he noticed it was glowing blue.

as if by Instinct Stephen knew what to do, he drew his arm back and the blue glow became stronger and brighter, "arrrrrhhhhh" he exclaimed as he Launched his arm forward as though he was throwing something, and as his arm reached full extension, a clear spiked Ice ball flew towards the beast and hit it in the side of the head, as the beast's head jerked back it released a screech.

Looking at his hand Stephen smiled "how long have i been ab. . ." Stephen paused for a moment "that dream, could she have bestowed this power upon me?" he muttered to himself.

OOC: nice music choice!

IC: Cedric watched as a sub-human, Christiane, and another human, all asking what was going on. Locke said hello to all of them before jumping away from a massive monster that rose from the water. Cedric began to mutter curses under his breath as he brought his axe back so he could run forward and swing it with added momentum.

Suddenly, the newcomer human rushed forward only to get knocked by the tail. Cedric was about go to him when suddenly he stood and tossed a ball of ice at the dragon. The creature reared back with a screech of pain, and Cedric let go of his awe at the ice ball and all other emotions as he focused. "I'll take the front lines, I have my axe with me!" Cedric charged forward, and his vision turned even darker then the gloomy surroundings.

Cedric only idly realized that his eyes had turned black, and also that it seemed darkness was enveloping the blade of his axe. Somehow knowing that it helped him, though in what way he didn't know, Cedric suddenly brought himself to a stop in front of the dragon who had just ended its screech and swung his axe across the thing's body. "Die and go back to the hole you came from, hellspawn!"

The creature screeched again as Cedric's axe tore through it's flesh...

OOC: hope i was allowed to use magic like that! If not, I'll fix it.

Before anyone ever answered his question, trouble came calling, a large Dragon rose up out of the water. Crimson Wolf was rather displeased to be faced with such a beast as this, "It just has to be a dragon..." he muttered, as he faced directly at the Dragon.

"Well now is not the time to talk, we'll all take you down right here, scaled beast. You would have been wise to return to the depths from whence you came, but you seem to have something else in mind." he spoke as he got prepared to dash off towards it starting out at quite near as fast as he could run right from standing still, to try simply overcome it with his superior speed and agility.

As he got closer to the 'scaled beast', it lunged it's head towards him to bite with it's fearsome teeth, but seeing as it is considerably larger than it's target, it had a ways down to go, Crimson saw it coming in advance and leaped sideways out of the way of it's attack, but not too soon for it to be able to track his change of movement, but a moment before it would have connected with it's attack.

Now just getting into range to leap up to strike it, "Whatever bit of magic power I have, don't think a gust of wind is going to do much against you... Gonna have to do this the old fashion way." he said, just before he leaped from off the ground and up at the monster to take one good concentrated slash at it to pierce through it's scales to damage it directly, causing the Dragon to let out an angry roar.

Crimson tried to get out of it's range of attacking to prepare for another charge in to strike, but just before he was to safety it swept it's long tail at him, catching him off guard and slamming into him. "Ugh...two attacks for my one...I didn't expect that haste from a monster the likes of you, but that mistake will be one I don't make again." he uttered these words, momentarily breathing slightly heavier briefly as he got himself safely out of it's range to ready himself to dash in for another attack, being the wiser for it, ready for anything it comes at him with.

Christiane saw Cedric, and a few random people attack a large wyvern type creature. Not being one to sit on the wayside while her friends get heated in battle. She got into a proper fighting stance and rushed forward to attack the creature. Christiane started with a punch and a kick to the back, before being swept down by the Water Dragon's tail. Its tail raised high up and was about to crush the girl.

Christiane raised her hand in hopes to catch it (and risk a broken bone in the process) but just as she was about to be crushed. A bolt of lightning fired off from her hand and struck at the water dragon dealing high damage. Christiane was surprised at the development as the water dragon hollered and roared in pain.

"Did...Did I just...."

Before she could think about it, Christiane got up and got herself back to fighting stance.

(OOC: S'okay if you use magic now. It plays into the plot sooner than you'll expect...And anyways after this battle the Prolouge will end and will will move onto chapter one.)

Locke's fists were almost glowing with light as he watched the others fight the mighty beast. It's screams echoed in his ears as he began to run over to the beast with his fist bare. He landed a punch in the dragon's belly and the dragon roared, swiping him with it's arm causeing him to fall back into the sand. "Ugh!" he grunted as he picked himself up from the ground.

He went running towards the battle again for another attack, never had he seen a monter such as this before. Dragon's weren't supposed to exist, at least that's what he thought. He called out to his friend "Cedric! Be safe and watch out for it's tail!" he called.

Stephen saw as everyone threw attacks at the Dragon's "how is this happening?" Stephen muttered to himself as he looked at his glowing hand, "this can't be possible" before he focused his mind on an Ice ball just like the one he instinctively summoned and another one appeared "i can use magic" Stephen muttered smirking and grabbing the spiked Ice ball with his finger tips.

he drew his arm back and threw the Ice ball at the creature, again hitting it, but this time in the shoulder area. the shoulder snarled and turned to look at Stephen "oh shit" he muttered.

Locke saw the man throw the ice ball at the dragon and stood in wonder. "How the heck did he do that?" Locke spoke.

He looked down at his bare wrists which were glowing. Then he gazed at the creature. He remebered his dream of the little girl. Did she give him this power? She must have! Magic didn't exist! It hasn't existed since the eariler years of the world! Locke ran up to the beast whil it was distracked with the other man and used the dragon's arm as a stairway to climb.

With a mighty punch, Locke hit the creatures face with the force of his fist and did not feel any damage to himself. "What is this?" Locke asked himself.

He fell down before the dragon and began to crawl away. He began to wonder if he could use magic also...
