Locke Levea stood on the beach watching his childhood friend Liana gather seashells. She looked so happy collecting. Locke had had feelings for her for the longest time. He began to reach towards her, resting his hand on her shoulder. She glanced back at him happily. This was the chance he had been waiting for. He leaned in for a kiss but she had disappeared into nothingness.
He stumbled into darkness as the world around him began to disappear. Locke stood there, looking around into nothingness when a small girl with blue hair came walking towards him. She was small but here eyes were wide and blue and her facial expression somber. She wore a robe of purple and her hair was put in short ponytails. She held her hands out towards Locke who wondered who this strange girl could be. He knelt down towards her and gazed into her eyes.
“Do I know you from somewhere?” Locke asked in wonder.
The little girl gazed at him with her sorrowful expression and shook her head. “I don’t think this is fair…” The girl muttered as she reached out to touch his face.
“Here.” The little girl said as her warm touch on Locke’s face glowed in a brilliant light. “I’ll give you the power of light. Use it to even the playing field.”
“The power of light? You mean an element?” Locke asked confused.
“Use it to save your world. It’s ultimately your decision to save yourselves or be erased by time.” The little girl spoke as she left in a swift moment, disappearing into nothingness…

“Wake up Locke.” Came a voice from far off.
Locke opened his eyes from the strange dream and gazed up at the ceiling of his apartment. He looked up at his mother who stood by his opened window. “It’s time to get up. Liana was just here looking for you. She said something about a new invention of hers you have to check out.” His mother spoke as she left the room.
“Yeah, her inventions never work anyway…” Locke muttered as he arose from his bed and gazed out at the busting town.
His childhood friend Liana lived across the street their whole lives in a big house. Every morning he woke to the view of Liana’s house though he didn’t mind. She was his best friend after all. He pulled on his shorts and sneakers and grabbed a jacket for a trip to her house to check out her latest invention.

“What is it?” Locke asked gazing at Liana’s strange invention.
“It’s a watch but it does so much more!” Liana exclaimed. “It can bring things from other dimensions to our dimension! For example a dragon that is in no way real in our universe can be brought to being by this watch! I call it the Space Time Vortex!”
“I call it lame.” Locke said. “Why do you keep inventing this time stuff? They never work and you could do so much more with your talents.”
“It’s not lame! It can work! I just need to find a place to test it!” Liana said. “I can make it work! I promise!”
“Whatever.” Locke said jokingly.
His feeling toward her hadn’t changed. He really liked her ambitions as an inventor even though most of her inventions never worked. He liked the way her long purple hair framed her face and the way her brown eyes were always bright when she was fired up. She had the brain of a genius but the appearance of a goddess. “Are you gonna stop staring and help me test this thing out?” Liana asked carrying the small machine out the door.
