Such an awkward title to word >.> Anyways, I've had this thread in mind for a while now, just never had the time to post it up. Since we're now near the festive season that is Christmas, games with be released left, right and centre which is always good for us.

In this thread basically discuss which games you're going to get and why you want them, games that you're contemplating buying but are on the the fence whether to purchase them or not or ask questions on specific games which could ultimately decided whether you choose to purchase!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Definitely getting.
I think the title speaks for itself really, especially to those who previously played Modern Warfare. MW2 is without a doubt the hottest release of the year and is already expected to sell $500 million worth in 1 week. Everything looks improved and hopefully they'll have nailed the storyline because the storyline in Modern Warfare was short, but it was pretty amazing. MW2 will probably the most played online game until summer next year at the very least.

Assassins Creed II
Definitely getting.
Another one of those games that the title sells the game really. From what I've read it's supposed to have greatly improved from Assassins Creed which I hope it has. Whilst Assassins Creed still remains one of my favourite games on the whole, the gameplay became so repetitive it's stupid, everything from the sidemissions to the actual storyline missions just felt the same every time. The AI has supposedly become more clever as well which is always a good thing, I just hope they're a little more difficult to beat >.>

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010
Definitely getting.
I'm still a FIFA fan through-and-through but I think the game certainly looks improved from PES2009 though I never purchased it personally. The official Champions League mode probably sold it for me, it looked extremely impressive and I'm a sucker for things that look impressive. I think what else sold it for me was the actual gameplay, whilst PES may be trailing behind FIFA now Pro Evo is solely about gameplay which will be refreshing to see.

Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time
Definitely getting.
I think everyone likes R&C, I haven't looked too much into this title but if the last PS3 R&C is anything to go by then this definitely gets a thumbs up from me.

Borderlands
On the fence - leaning more towards getting it
Originally, I wasn't even thinking about getting this title, I didn't even bat an eyelid at the title because I didn't think it would interest me. However, having looked into in a bit more depth, both on here, GAME website and PS3Trophies I think I'm going to get it. It was described as a bit of Fallout 3 and Bioshock with a pinch of Final Fantasy though I presume the latter is the RPG element. Looks like a solid title mind.

I thought about making a thread like this, but I never could be bothered.

I agree with MW:2, though the storyline will only be 6-10 hours long, but they will be adding an online co-op with, I think, different missions from the story called Special Ops. And I think that MW still has the best online gaming experience so I've got faily high hopes for MW2.

MAG:
256 people fighting online at one time sounds pretty awesome. I don't know much about it, but apparently you get to work your way up the ranks and you'll be able to call in airstrikes etc, mortar strikes and people being dropped in by parachute. It sounds like the most realistic war game ever, without going into hyperbole.

Those are the only two games I'll definitely be getting, I might also get Assassin's Creed 2 and I might wait until after Xmas and get Bayonetta and Demon's souls, both of which seem fairly decent.

Oooh, good thread:

Assassins Creed II

I like the last one, but havent got round to finishing it yet. But I do love the look of this one. Plus I want to get the special black edition from Play.com cause of the figure lol :-)

Ghostbusters

Title says it all and Im an 80s kid lol. The demo was fun and I was jumping all the time! Thats what I call fun and awesome! Plus the original voice cast are in it, whats not to love?!

Left 4 Dead 2

Need to get my mitts on the first game, but it looks amazing! The characters seem to gel well together and I would kill to get my mitts on it ^^

L4D2 - I want this, but I don't know how much I'll get to play it considering April is just around the corner.. so I might hold off on it and get another game.

Dragon Age Chronicles - It looks interesting, but I really am in it more for the story line although the combat doesn't look half bad to be honest.

FIFA 10 - Been hearing great things on it, but maybe I'll wait till I get my ps3. But here's to hoping... right.

Nice thread idea. ^_^ I'll just list what games I can think of off the top of my head. Even if I am forgetting a game or two, it'll cover the majority... X_x

Tekken 6

I am a big fan of the Tekken games, really a great one on one fighting game imo, cool and funny characters, catchy tunes to fight to, some nice stages, and again, on the note of Characters, there's lots.

Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection (have it for the PSP) has 34 playable characters, Tekken 6 has got 40, so yeah, I'm really hyped for this game. :awesome:

Bolt (Wii)

Absolutely love the movie, so I automatically have to ask for this game, I feel obligated to. XD But I'm rather disappointed with the sloppy animation in it from a couple videos of it I've seen...but I expect it'll still be fun.

Even if they gave Bolt a loose jaw (>_>), it's still Bolt, it'll be fun to just control the character, taking down the bad guys. =P

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games

Okay, so I've played the Summer one, it was a little fun for a while, nothing spectacular...but I figure what the heck, it's fun with Mario and Sonic characters competing in Olympic events, the Winter games should be fun for a while too, so why not just ask for it.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

Not crazy about this one, but my father mentioned it, so I just went along with it, I think it looks a bit like it is similar to Paper Mario games, so it could be funny if nothing else... XP

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII

I know it's really late to get this now, but I've rented it in the past, it was pretty fun, just never asked for it...but after playing Dissidia: Final Fantasy, it got me into Final Fantasy VII again and now I want anything Final Fantasy VII I can get my hands on within reason. :P

All I want is Wii Fit, and if I dont get it in the next few months if I dont aquire it over crimbo then Im selling my Wii becasue I never use it and that's all I want it for

I don't think there's a single other game I'm even remotely interested in at the moment...

I don't buy the magazines like I used to anymore and I never check whats new online either, so I'm rather inthe dark about anything other than FF games

Mind you I doubt I'd want anything that much anyway, I think I've lost interest in gaming on the whole.

Wii Fit would be nice though.... :gonk:

Mainly Little Big Planet. And Brutal Legend.

LBP for two reasons:
1. I've been wanting it for a while now, and Andy's got a PS3, so it's now possible for me to play it. :awesome:
2. I agreed to an LBP match against Damon and Jess next summer. It'll be me and Andy against Damon and Jess, and I wanna get in as much practice as I can.

Brutal Legend, mainly for the match reason. :awesome:

I'm a bit old for a real wish list, but if I could get anything:
Preordered copy of Mass Effect 2 (PC)
Dragon Age Origins (PC)
Demon Souls (PS3)
Tekken 6 (PS3)
