I was looking through the booklet in my FFXII box, since I've restarted playing it, and i saw that in the Dramatis Personae bit, they all have titles under their names.

Vaan
A boy who sees freedom in the skies.

Ashe
A Princess who has lost everything.

Basch.
A loyal knight branded a traitor.

Balthier.
A dashing sky pirate.

Fran.
A master of weapons

And, finally, in my opinion the best one -

Penelo.
Vaan's friend.

How well do you think each characters title goes with the character? Do they have any relevence at all, or are they just meaningless gibberish designed to make the characters seem cooler on paper.

And why is Penelos so...lame compared to everyone elses? xD

Because Penelo played such a minor role. =/ She was...just there along for the journey.

And those descriptions are pretty brief, but straight to the point. Perhaps they wanted to keep it that way...? I don't necessarily think there's any relevance behind it. The way I see it, it's a "what you see is what you get" sorta thing. Nothing really enigmatic about each character...

Yeah, they all have relevence to the charcter, even Penelo. You see, Penelo isn't one of those characters to brag about. She's pretty useless in this game (I found something for her to do though, white mage). And, well Penelo hasn't any good things backing her up.
Another could be, Items shop assistant. She doesn't really dream of much, nor has she done, or accomplished anything

Vaan: accurate
Ashe: accurate
Basch: accurate
Fran: accurate
Balthier: not dashing
Penelo: Well, that's all she was
.

- finds Penelo a bit rubbish -

I think they are all about right, penelos is amusing lol altho I used her as my white mage so she was useful to me

Maybe Ashes should have said miserable in there somewhere.....

Balthiers was right on the nose *drools*

Actually, I'm not so sure about Frans, Id hardly say she was a master of Weapons..... she'd be something along the lines of a troubled Viera who had abandoned her home for something better...I dunno, my description sucks alot but I'm sure you get the general idea

I find them all pretty accurate except i didnt really find Balthier very dashing... I lol'd when i read the Penelo title... thats all she really was in the game.. other then nagger cause she naged about everything that Vaan did.

^ I agree with everything said above. Including Penelo's nagging--she got so annoying to me, especially in the beginning. Erg!

Personally, I thought Balthier was the best-looking dude in the crew. Vaan always reminded me of a ram or a sheep. ('Twas the hair, I know it.)

Hmm... the accuracy of Penelo's blah description should've been a red alert that the writers had been slacking off on her characterization (among other things). Fran's may or may not be accurate depending on how you work on her License Board, so it's pretty sucky.

I think they all go pretty well! All are accurate. It's a yes or no question so with a yes it's hard to expand on that...

I think most are pretty acurate apart from Fran, I cant remember any point in the game where it shows she is a master of weapons. Her title should of said "at one with the mist" or something along those lines.

She went along with the party because she didn't want to be left behind. I didn't mind her since she had the best stats for becoming a mage.

That did sound pretty lame, they probably couldn't say anything better about her. She is probably like Yuffie in FF7, I don't recall her having a purpose to go?
