How do you combat boredom?

Im sat here nothing to do and too lazy to even think about doing anything. Beginning to wish I hadn't quit my job, as much as it annoyed me at least it kept me busy, now all I do is lounge around all day don't get dressed and fill my face -_-

I suppose I could play on my Ps2 but I just can't get motivated. Its like a vicious circle of doom I tell you

Personally, I...

- Watch a lot of Dragonball Z via internetz/season DVDs.

- Play a lot of videogames such as Halo 3, Dragonquest VIII and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

- Draw lots of random pictures. I drew a vampire sitting under an umbrella on a beach. The shade prevents him from melting, but other, less fortunate vampires are melting as they engage in various beach activities such as volleyball and swimming.

- WORK. My job is the best weapon against boredom. It gives me something constructive to do, people to talk to, and a place to be other than home.

-Exercise. I don't do it to stay in or get into shape--I do it because it's a hell of a lot more fun than sitting on my ass for hours on end.

-Browse the internetz. I'll mess around on youtube...and here, of course. =D

And that may be it.

I'm in that exact same situation. I'm off uni for the next two weeks, but I don't want to be because I have nothing to do. I suppose I could get one of my assignments started, but... nah.

Usually I just stick a DVD on, or some music and then sit and do nothing. There's very little that motivates me these days. D:

thats where it all stems from with me aswel. sodding lack of motivation >_<

i need to tidy my house aswel altho that will get rid of the boredom for a while, it's hardly fun is it? grrr

that made me lol, I used to draw alot aswel, but i just cant be bothered bahhh

I had one of these days yesterday... Plenty of things that I *could* have been doing but I couldn't be assed getting up to do any of them, so instead just lounged around all day eating sweeties and watching things on youtube. :monster:

Finding motivation to do things when you are too bone idle is difficult, I guess at the end of the day all you can do is push yourself to do something. I dunno, we all have lazy days where we don't do anything. Usually I'll think about watching tv/dvd, playing ps2, reading, drawing or going for a walk or something, but I end up just putting it off until it is too late. Guess some days just go like that. =/

Im fed up aswel and that really isn't helping =/

I have to go to the shop soon, that's gunna be the highlight of my day -_-

i'm terrible with boredom. usually a spliff and some tv or ps2 helps...... but to be honest once the weed kicks in I end up doin not much of anythin. It occupies my mind thou :wacky:

Oh gee. Well it depends where I'm at. If I'm at home, I'll simply just play with my daughter or read a book. We'd watch a Disney movie or I'd meddle with photoshop.

If I'm at work, I usually just play with the children and give them my full attention...although in the back of my mind, I'm always thinking, "I wanna go home already!"

I rarely get bored anymore because of how active school is keeping me, but when I get bored I typically nap. I never get enough sleep as is, so free time to get a little shut eye is alright imo.

Or if I can't sleep, I usually write or read or go play tennis (if it's warm out) or call up some friends. My house is too boring, and I don't watch TV so I gotta get out or get artistic when that time comes. xD

I play ps2, watch some tv series and chat some friends in msn...
But, most of all I listen to music... I could stay 1 hour in my bed, just staring, while hearing music.

But if you want something to occupy your time with, get a hobby... Personally, I've been thinking in taking guitar lessons.

Mainly music, jump online to game with friends, go paly some basketball at the gym, I don't know. I'm rarely ever bored with a busy college class schedule and working at the same time. With whatever remaining time I have left, I'm usually out with friends.

Music and basketball though usually fill the empty gaps when they sprout up.
