The three main elemental attacks in every Final Fantasy. For a lot of enemies it really doesn't matter which of the three you cast. Granted you get flare and whatnot further in... but when your black mage only has those three spells, which do you usually prefer if the enemy has no elemental weaknesses?

PS - Water doesn't count because it's usually a more powerful attack later on
 
It used to be ice cus i thought it was, um....cool.

But i use lightning, but only cus i have never like fire. It just seems a bit boring. I can't explain it. Electric is more flashy and i like that in things.

Anywho, I choose Blizzard. It's always seemed the coolest to me...
 
i always used either fire or lightning because they were my main spells but i would preferably use fire mainly because it is the first spell any black mage gets not including rydia from ff4
 
thunder simply cuz i love to see lightning in reality.
BTW why call it thunder when its a lighning bolt?
 
They're all the same. None of them make any sort of difference unless the enemy has an elemental weekness. lol.


I do love fire though. =]

I think they're all equal as well.
So then I'll have to look at the sfx.

By that I go with fire, the coolest looking of the three.
 
For some reason this thread kinda reminds me of Captain Planet lol....

well I like lightning. It looks cooler, and I'd like that in real life... (Fire can cause bushfires and blizzard is freezing) I like lightning for the fact that when it hits the enemy, it just looks like it hit them real good
 
Fire for me.

It's always a show of great power I thought. Ifrit looked like a beast in FFX which was the first FF game I ever completed, so I stuck with Fire and the epitome of fire to me is in an Ifrit form. I WANNA SEE HELLFIRE!!!
 
Fire for me as well. Ive always used fire ever since I got it and it seems like that is the first spell i always get so I tend to use it throughout the game
 
Lightning for me. I've never really been a fan of the numerous power levels of the other elements, but the likes of Blizzaga appeals more (particularly in IX).

Any attack which is imbued with lighting = <3
 
i only change my spells depending on the surroundings and on surroundings can also determine an enemies weakness apart from that icy place in ff9 with the garudas i just kept using blizzaga on them XD
 
hmmmm, i don't know, think i got a special thing for bizzard lol, don't know why...
 
Thunder! I like thunder! I would've picked water but since it's not there...
 
Fire looks the best to me. I know this isn't the case, but it seems more powerful as well XD
Although in FFVII, I preferred Ice...
 
Hmmm..that's a hard one. Depends which game. FFVII & FFVIII= Thunder, FFVI=Blizzard, FFIV= Fire, FFXII=Blizzard. Well, if I had to definitely choose one, I would choose Blizzard just because ice is cool.
