So i started watching Bleach and i have a question Is the soul reaper who Gin killed Uryu's father? I'm only on episode 44 but there was a flashback to Uryu's childhood and his father looked exactly the same as that soul reaper (I can't remember his name)

That was Ishida's grandfather, and he was a Quincy, not a Shinigami. He just didn't hate Shinigami like most ordinary Quincys did. His father comes in much later. And the anime is bad because it's filled with all of this filler shit :hmph: The manga is so much better.

Err... No. Season 2 is the continuation of rescuing Rukia from Soul Society. Season 3 and 4 are both filler, as well as a few more seasons that I don't remember off the top of my head. They don't have filler episodes; it's an entire filler story arc spanning across one to two seasons. I hate them because they aren't related to the really awesome story that lasts the majority of the chapters.

:O spoliers much! jk XD

I agree with the annoyance at the fillers. Its too much. 1-2 episodes I find is really enough for fillers.
They are just trying to expand the storyline production as much as possible because I think they dont have many ideas or, they dont want to make the main storyline too obscure because of extending it (which is essentially a much better thing then not having the long fillers)

To answer your original question, 1: It's Uryu's Grandfather. and 2 it's actually Mayuri Kurotsuchi who killed him...well so to speak. and on the subject of the fillers, some are okay, and when you take a break from bleach and don't care for the main story, it's great to watch the fillers. I especially love the Zanpakto Spirits filler arc. It's quite interesting to see the Zanpakto spirits in their humanoid spirit forms. :andry:

Nice

That's nice to know since I myself doesn't have any idea about it.

While the manga is superior, you can't deny the fact that the japanese voice actors of Rukia, Ichigo and Renji at the very least make a real good performance and make some stuff sound more awesome than if you just read it, and other stuff way funnier. I may love the manga more, but I still laugh myself stupid with the anime, every time Ichigo spazzes out. It's the VA that does it for me.

Yes I do agree with you. Bleach is rare in having very good voice actors. I have never heard the english ones, but the japanese ones are good. If I like a series i will watch as well, but generally manga first (plus it is released earlier)

The English voice cast is meh. Johnny Young Bosch does pretty good as Ichigo. Rukia sounds like a guy. Ishida sounds like he's got something stuck in his nose. Renji and Byakuya just sound God awful. I've finished the first season in English, and the second season I've got subbed. It's alright, but I hate having to read so much when I want to relax and just watch it. Japanese Rukia sounds much better and she doesn't sound like a guy. I hated Rukia because of her voice when I first saw an English episode back before I got into Bleach. She's much better in the manga I'd say.

Ok thanks I see.
Offtopically, I understand that is a very western thing to not want to read subs, Its just so natural for some cultures to read subs because a lot of shows put subs for english shows because there isnt enough of a audience to put the money in for dubbing it. But I see what you mean by wanting to relax and just listen.

Yeah, especially because it was pretty late at the time that I was watching them and I completely missed a scene because I closed my eyes for a minute :P Other than that I'm fine with it, I just have a hard time trying to focus on the subtitles and the show at the same time. I try to read the subs fast and then look back up but that just gets annoying after a while.

I haven't got much regard for Bosch. Most of his roles are pretty average. The English dub is indeed pretty clumsy at parts, but it really could be worse.

Pretty much everyone is better in the manga, but Rukia's pretty much most obvious--and as far as I'm concerned, she's the least annoying main female character. She's got some development and isn't so stuck on her issues like a certain other boobtastic character who spent most of a whole bloody arc pretending to be a broken record.
