For all you PlayStation 3 gamers out there, you guys up for another trophy competition? Well here's your chance to prove that you truly are a master when it comes to unlocking trophies! The rules are simple. In order to win, you must attain the highest trophy score in total (only counts from the beginning of the competition until the end) than everyone else, and you will have 2 weeks to do this.

Due date: Friday, June 24, 2011.

Keep in mind that if a member has the highest trophy score than everybody else at the beginning and end of the game, that does not mean anything. This isn't about who has the most trophies. It's how MANY points you obtain in total during the competition that counts!

So for instance, let's say that I have 20 trophy points (according to the Trophy Score System posted below) before the start of the game and Ryan has 55.

I received a total of 40 trophy points at the end of the competition and Ryan received 30 trophy points. I win the competition since I had accumulated more points than he did.

Sound simple enough?

Now, there are a few requirements in order for you to join the contest, so please read the guidelines carefully.

In order to join, you must:
  • Join http://www.ps3trophies.com/trophycards/ and register your current PSN account for PlayStation 3. (This is the ONLY site we'll accept). One account per member! Note: You do not need to create a new PSN account, however, it is recommended for this competition to make things easier for us, especially if you have many trophies. Remember, there IS an advantage to that since you can replay your games and obtain the trophies all over again. But if you really want to, you can also use your existing one that you've been using all this time if you haven't obtained that many trophies yet.

  • Post your gamercard here, including your PSN profile link. (You should be able to get the link via your profile)

  • If you are using your current account, your ‘Current trophy score’ will be recorded by us as this is very important. (See why it will be easier to just make a new account?)
Once you have posted all the requirements here, I will check your status (by checking your PSN profile link) jot down your current trophy score and you will have to wait for our confirmation. If you're good to go, we will confirm this and you will be officially in the game and may proceed to play your PlayStation 3 games. However, there are more rules to follow.


Rules
  • Sports games do NOT count as a trophy. I'm sure those who play them will know why. Feel free to continue playing your sports game though. They just won't be added to your trophy score.

  • Any Downloadable Contents (DLC) trophies do NOT count towards your score.

  • To make things easier and give everyone that competitive edge, you must post here whenever you receive a trophy. Let us know the name of the trophy so we can keep track of them and ensure its validity.

  • When the competition ends on June 24 (we will give everyone a 24 hour notice), we will calculate the trophy scores based on our Trophy Score System:
Bronze = 1 point
Silver = 3 points
Gold = 5 points
Platinum = 10 points

The 'Final Trophy Score' will then determine who obtained the highest points from the start of the competition up until the end.

Below is the list of current trophy score. Remember, wait until I confirm you in the game first before you play your games and get your trophies. If you do not see your name in that list, you are not in the game yet.

2nd place - 200
3rd place - 100

Starting Trophies - 0
Earned Trophies - 4 Platinum | 17 Gold | 59 Silver | 146 Bronze
Total Points So Far - 40 + 85 + 177 + 146 = 448 Points

It's the 10th today or the 9th in America. Three weeks would be the end of the month, not the 20th, that's only 10 days.
 
Sorry, that's supposed to be 2 weeks and it's due on the 24th. :hmmm:

I cannot. I could if it were later than the 24th, but not if it is only two weeks.
 


I don't know how that site goes about updating trophies but if it ends up not working I'll have Mitsuki add that account on PSN to confirm points :monocle:

Edit: Also, that's clearly a new account and the site wouldn't let me sync the account without first earning trophies so those should count towards my score :hmmm:
 
Alright, first post updated. @Brigidette - you have 4 points so far and is currently in the lead...by default. :wacky:
 


I should have posted that one instead, it tells you how many bronze silver etc

Wouldn't I have had 6 points with those beginning trophies? :mokken: 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 6 :mokken:

@Bridgidette. I think you're right. One silver, 3 bronze...6 points. I'll go fix that. :hmmm:

EDIT: Also re-evaluated your current score.

Actually you can still use your current account. :) We'd just have to record your trophies before you start playing. Once we give the go ahead, you can start earning trophies and those will be the ones that will count during this competition, not the trophies beforehand.

It would just be advisable to use a new account so that you can replay games and earn trophies easily. But if you really don't want to, then use your current account.


And oops, sorry about the mess-up! :wacky:

Well, that's great to hear, but I don't even have any of my games anymore :lew:

I only have like 2 of the possible 10 games that I got trophies for. So If started a new account or used my existing one, I wouldn't get anywhere xD.

I'll see though, maybe I can still join if I got the will to start over.
 
Aw wished I could join again, but my ps3 had the YLOD 3 times so it's officially dead. Will buy a new one in july so I can't.
 
Wouldn't it make more sense to use Sony's official cards? Just sayin' :wacky: I'm having issues joining atm, but I have a question. Instead of posting everytime I get a trophy, can I simply record them and post a list of my trophy times on here?

And yes, that's fine. Typically that's what most people would do. They'll post their update every other day or so. Doesn't really matter when you do it as long as the scoreboard here gets updated before the competition ends, but it certainly doesn't have to be every time you get a trophy.
 
So then I imagine it's okay if I just keep syncing...? Mitsuki :hmph:
 
Yeah that's fine, especially since you started with 0 trophies, it's a lot easier to manage your scores. It's a 'what-you-see-is-what-you-get' type of deal.
