What is the best nickname for a ff character?

The best one I have seen (I can't take credit for it) is Princess Hoochie Skirt for Ashe in ff12. Every time I saw her on screen after that it was all I could think of.

Hmm, I usually just leave the character names as they are, but the first time I was playing FF7 I remember I did change the names, and it still cracks me up to this day how I didn't know you name the playable characters, so when I first came across Cait Sith, I named him Fat Twat or something like that, and so for the rest of the game I had to put up with that nickname. Lol.

I'd name Tifa Aerith and Aerith Tifa in the name of lulz and mind games. I like to think that by doing so Cloud on the other side of the screen is largely confused even more so about which woman he likes and I can say Aerith never died, it was Tifa.

Though I was usually always lame and just named the main character after myself and left all the other names alone. I'm so uncreative at times :(

Are you talking about renaming the characters in-game? Or fan-given nicknames on forums and stuff?

Everyone above me has mentioned naming characters in game, but I don't think you were ever given an option to rename Ashe, were you?

Calling Rinoa's dog and/or Griever "My Arse" or something similarly immature never gets old, just because its fun watching Rinoa kill enemies using "My Arse Cannon" in battle, and I giggle every time Ultimecia combines with Griever (renamed something suitably rude) to form some giant freakshow. xD

I think "Balthier" is a pretty good nickname, as well. "Ffamran" doesn't really have quite the same ring to it.

Of course, not much comes close to the amazingly spectacular superfantastic originality of "Him" in FFX-2. You don't get much better than that ♥

My older brother would always name Barret Mr. T, so that's funny and it's def one of my favorite nicknames for a character.

Once I named Aerith Elf lady cuz I always thought she looked like an elf(with the ribbon an' all)

Bears- either or, give us your best one.

Fan nicknames are usually much more harsh and funny, but calling Barret Mr. T is hilarious.

Hope being renamed Whiney Bitch would be quite fitting too.

Rename Rinoa "A whore" and Angelo Anal. Then when you get to her dog's tutorial, it will read "As A Whore gets more experience, she will gain more anal skills"

Calling Vanille 'Skippity McGiggles Bitch' always made me laugh. I randomly call characters names during cutscenes and the like. A bad habit, I'm afraid. Sephiroth is now forever known as Victoria on account he waves his hair around like those women in Victoria Secret commercials.

I remember once I named Barret 'Mr. T' and Cid 'Mr. Tea' because of his one line. (Sit down and drink your *&%*&^ TEA!)

Let's not forget the wonderful nickname I gave Vincent -- Eddie. Draw upon some recent vampire phenomenon in the literary arts, and you'll see where I got it from.

But my best one by far is when I gave Cloud his new name: Chuckles. :dave:

Just put it into a few sentences from the games or movie, and you've got hilarity!

"You were great back there, Chuckles!"
"Concentrate on the mission, Chuckles."
"Chuckles, you set the bomb."
"A flower for me? Oh Chuckles, you shouldn't have..."

It sounds like they've got some demonic clown on the team :wacky:

LMAO! Oh man I salute you. That's the funniest thing I heard in a while. lol!

As A Whore gets more experience, she will gain more anal skills

Oh gawd! :D

Fail...

I'll definitely have to try that on my next playthrough...it cracked me up.
Alternatively, how about "Bitch"?

"You were great back there, Bitch!"
"Concentrate on the mission, Bitch."
"Bitch, you set the bomb."
:lew:

Really, these funny names could be applied to any character that can be renamed, but I suppose it would be funniest with the main heroes, as they get named the most in dialogue (probably).

Hah hilarious. Doesn't it get confusing?

And yeah, love the Chuckles one. These kind of ambiguous joky names actually could turn some of the most serious quotes into perhaps some of the funniest.

I still call Kain Highwind 'Drumsticks'. Because when you look at his little form on the DS version of FFIV, his legs look like a set of drumsticks you get from KFC. And I've merged together the 'spoony bard' scene with the end of the opening of Courage the Cowardly Dog whenever I see Edward. "Spoony Bard! You make me look bad! OOGAGUGAGOOGAH!!"

Well, he does act very vampish when you meet him, no? And the way some fangirls are about him....

Nope, not too confusing, amazing enough!

*bows* Yes, Chuckles was one of my finest moments. Oh you have no idea the power it has.

By the way this thread is pretty funny and I had nothing to do with it.

I do remember thinking Tifa should be called Tits.

^Well you do now. Lol. :D

That's true, except Vincent actually has good reasons to be angsty about.

"Did you sleep well, Chuckles?"
"Next to you, who wouldn't."
^That must've been a funny experience.

I once named all of my charactors in FFVII "____________Boo" their name +boo. We had CloudBoo, AerisBoo, TifaBoo etc.

it was kinda amusing to me.

All of the aeons in X had different names, usually something crude, but nothing too offensive. like ButtHead McGraw for Bahamut, Chesty LaRue for Shiva

I once started a file on 7 in which I named Cloud "Bianca" and Barrett "Fifi", though I cannot for the life of me remember why.
I called Tidus "Shit Face" a lot while playing 10, even though I actually like him now.
I called Balthier "Han" a few times, too.
Cecil was a slew of girl nicknames.
I think I called Aeris "Stone" a few times, because of the sword and all... hehehe, bad joke. xD

:x3: :x3: :x3:

First time I played FFIX I inserted my name on Zidanne, and renamed the others with the names of my friends of that time.... It was actually funny because their personality sometimes matched..
