l'm taking some license from the recent "Worst/Usless Party" thread here but it gave me the idea for this thread.

I've lamented recently at the character lineups in FFXII & FFXIII, wishing that some of the you fight against could or should be in your party. Guys like Cid Raines, Vossler, larsa even Reddas and especially Judge Gabranth.

l know that chicks like Beatrix were there for little while, but when the chracters you fight against are better than your mainstay party, you really have to wonder.

S-E should really make these characters available after the game(main story), even if it means you have to get rid of some of your main party members, what do you all think?

Well, I know I'd be a lot more motivated to play through Final Fantasy X again, for example, if I could add Seymour to my party after the credits roll. Perhaps Square Enix SHOULD take a leaf out of Tri-Ace's book and add a Seraphic Gate-type dungeon which allows you to recruit major antagonists and random others after you've finished the game.

Playing as Squall, Seifer and Zell in FFVIII would probably be my highlight party...

I agree with Martel there. I mean, what's the real point in having guest characters come in just to piss off after one or two odd battles? The least they can do is treat players who have worked to the end of the game with a new opportunity to have those characters again in the party and fight through an optional dungeon.

Zidane, Steiner, Garnet and Beatrix in one party - I'd love to use that line-up in battle for FFIX. Heck, even though I'm not the biggest fan of Sephiroth, I wouldn't have minded having him as a playable member of the party.

Well i think if you could have Cid Rains he would just obliterate everything. I agree with Dweia, with the right training seymour is one of the most powerful characters in the series. He would be allot more devastating if you could control him.
On that note, i think that all of your enemies could be better. Because the AI is controlling them they have a predetermined course of actions. Without this you could use them to their full potential

If we can combine games my full party list would have to be Seymour, Cid Rains, Seperoth, Jecht, and Judge Gabranth.

Seymour: His magic abilities would make an exelent black mage.

Cid Rains: Is amazing, he's just strong, fast, ect.

Seperoth: Do i really have to explain this one?

Jecht: He can transform into Braska's final aeon(if not then delete him)

Judge Gabranth: He puts Auron to shame, i swear you could drop ten nukes on him and he would still be in the same spot, then he would laugh at you.

Guess i kinda got carried away:P

Does this have to include NPCs that have been in your party at some point? Because if not, then I think it would've been awesome to have Oaka in your party in X :D He'd lighten up the mood and he could have special merchant skills that would allow you to buy weapons, armor, and items at half price :8F:

If not though, I'd say probably General Leo, Beatrix, Seifer, and Vossler would've been good regular characters. All of them have good attack power, and I liked their personalities as well, they'd make the possible parties even more interesting than they are already :D As far as battles though:

VI: Setzer, Sabin, General Leo, Edgar. This would be a delicious combination of special attacks--Slot, Blitz, Shock, and Tools :awesome: I'd dare any enemy to get out of that alive, even Kefka :wacky: Plus they're all great characters otherwise too, and I like to have characters in my parties that I like all around, not just for their battle skills :D

IX: Zidane, Steiner, Vivi, Beatrix. Muscle and amazing Sword Magic combos :8F:

VIII: Seifer, Irvine, Zell. Just out of personal preference ;), but I think it'd be a fairly strong party too.

XII: Any combination of Balthier, Fran, Basch, and Vossler. BFB is my standard lineup and they are all equally powerful and badass, so Vossler could be throw into the mix really anywhere in there.

And though I didn't really care for Banon much in VI, I thought the ghost you could pick up on the Phantom Train was really cute ^_^ It would've been cool if you could've trained him into a really powerful mage, learned his backstory and all that :D

Interesting thread topic :monster:

they do it with the remakes of old FF's don't they; you could use Minwu, Ricard etc in FFII: DoS in the bonus dungeon and you were able to use Yan, Palom/Polom etc in FFIV Advance. but they all sucked and the mains were much better.
