Have you ever felt somewhat pressured to spend that little bit extra money on something you really don't want to buy?

I was offerred a ticket for a local band's first gig in Glasgow (further out than where we come from) and for a cheap price of £6, including the cost of the provided bus, I thought ... meh, why not? All of a sudden, there's a tenner stuck on top of the ticket price for the bus trip and possibly more when we get into the gig. -__-
I just agreed to buy said tickets, since it was a month ago, because I was feeling somewhat pressured to say "yes, I'll come!" by everyone. Now that the tickets have been reserved for me, I feel a bit disrespectful in saying "I no longer want to come" (the band aren't that great and it's a fair whallop of money for an unemployed teen) and so have ended up coughing up £20 altogether for the sake of a night out I'd rather do without. -__-

Not really. If I want to buy something, it's because there's no other way of getting it for free (ie, rare items), or because it's (a) necessary (evil). Otherwise, I guess I'm too insensitive to tell when people want me to buy something so that I can join in with them.

I don't remember if something similar has happened to me, but generally, I'm kinda careful with how I spend my money. I don't think I've ever been forced to buy something I really don't want (although like I said, I really don't remember) since I'm pretty open and will voice out my opinion when it comes to busting out my debit card.

Although...now that I think about it, there was one time at the mall where this lady was advertising a bunch of nail-related products. It intrigued me a bit but it's not like I felt the desire to really buy it. But she kept talking and talking and I replied with "Oh really? Wow, that's great" and she talked some more, and in the end I felt like we both just wasted our time and so I felt like I just had to buy that product! In fairness though, I did like it and was thinking about buying it, but it had to do more with the fact that I felt somewhat obligated to buy it. I'm weird, oh well.

Hmm, I can't remember anything like this happening to me, although my sister works at the electrical store Currys and in order to meet targets they have to try to, er.. oversell. Like she was saying if they sell somebody a tv then they have to offer all the things that go with it like stands, screen wipes, cables (even though there's nothing wrong with the cables that come with the tv..) and all that. So I guess in some cases it pays to do research beforehand so you don't get fooled into buying a load of crap for the expensive tv you just bought. >_>

If by forced to buy something, you mean my mom buys something that she wants, says that I have to pay for it because apparently I wanted it even though I didn't, then yes, I have been pressured into buying something.

Ugh that happened to me. In Currys no less. xD
I bought my new mp3 player, and the guy told me at the time that I need to buy a charger, because with what's in the box the only way to charge it would be to plug it into my laptop. What I should have asked at the time is if the charger from my old mp3 player (which is of the same manufacturer) would work with it. SO I now have an extra charger that I don't need. ><

If you buy anything from Gamestop, you'll be pressured by the cashier to invest extra cash towards reservations. I have yet to leave that store without having an employee pester me about reservations...

It's normally silly little things with me, like when I get to the til I get can I interest you in....and it's normally only a quid or so, so Il usually just be like, yeah whatever, then I get home, throw my pink pen/nail file/etc along with the rest of the useless tat Ive bought

Ive also been cajoled into donating money to charity on more than one occassion when I really didint want to (selfish I know.....) So atm, I have 8 quid a month coming out of my account for the red cross...they always make me feel guilty D:

The same thing happened to me yesterday at KFC, I just payed for my food and I had $5 change and then the lady asked if I'd like to donate any money to Children in Need, and the box was right there and I couldn't say no without being a dick. But now I'm annoyed about losing my $5 and I've yet to go back.

That's called reciprocity, where someone acts positively towards us and we feel pressured to respond in a positive way.
