I'm not a drinker, but I've had a cup or two of alcohol. I can't remember what it was though.
 
Wel Mit, you either drink booze for the taste and effect or for the sensation of getting pissed (translation "pissed": thats drunk/wasted for you Americans).

If you want to get pissed, drink wine. you will be pissed after 2.5 bottles. If you appreciate booze then at least drink the good shit and you won't get antwhere near as much of a hangover.

No, dear god, don't listen to that. lol Wine = major hangover. If ou like girly drinks, go with anything mixed. A lot of girls like vodka fancy drinks so appletinis are probably your best bet. And Jack and coke is the drink of manly men. I don't expect a Brit to understand. ;) lol (That was a joke btw) He is right that you can go with better whiskeys and whatnot but I stick with what works. I love the taste of Jack and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Cremes, schnapps, and brandy are all good on occassion but I just can't beat good old American made Jack. :cool: We're badass. Be jealous.

But I still love Jack and Coke, goddammit. It's good shit. I can't stand beer. Liquor all the way and Jack is good. The only other shit I've had was 99 Bananas. That's alright. But name something better. I'll get it next time I go to the store.

Whiskey can be divided into 2 groups... Blended or single malt

Blended are shit... it's not an opinion, it's a fact

Single Malt is where its at, these can be catagoried into 3 areas of Scotland.

1) Highland - Very strong flavour, not to my taste, but excellent.
2) Lowland - A more subtle flavour, I am quite a fan.
3) Isles - My favorite!! A very peaty taste (and an aquired one at that!)

Finally a word on Irish whisky... there are some great ones out there but I'm no specialist on them, I tend to think the Scottish do it better.

You speak the truth sir, Can't stand JDs, I'm aware I'm only 16, but I can still have a taste for the pleasant things.
 
I can't stand the taste. It was dry and almost bitter. It was just really wierd. Maybe I had a bad kind or I don't understand enough about the drink but... i just really don't like the stuff.

Gin is a drink made out of Juniper berries, It does taste rather unpleasant straight. The best way to try it is with tonic (soda in the US??) with (and this is very important) a slice of lemon. It must be icy cold.

Oh and you have to sing "Maybe its because I'm a Londoner" at the same time... even if, like me, you are not. :)
 
Actually, the weird thing is even though we have about twenty different tersm for soda, we still call that drink a gin and tonic.
