Okay, my girlfriend just got addicted to FFX. And now we just crossec into Zanarkand towards the end of the game. Right after we beat one of the monsters after coming out of Mount Gagazet (the photon wings monster). And then there is a little talk going around. Then we hear about how Auron also was afraid, confused or something when talking with Wakka. And telling him that when he first was "here" with Braska he was about Wakka's age. I don't know Wakka's age, but form the looks of it he's not very old. And from how Auron looks when he is with Braska he is not so old either. This makes sence, but it is 10 years since Sin got defeated and it looks now as if Auron is above 50 years. I'm guessin he was not 40 when he was with Braska, and that Wakka is not 40 now.

You can clearly see in his face that he is an middel aged man, getting his grey tones in his hair. Of course this could naturally happen in 10 years, but I felt it was just a little bit to extreme as he is very young looking 10 years ago.

Greying of the hair varies. Some can get it in their early thirties. Chances are that Auron was at that age, or was in his late twenties when he was on Braska's pilgrimage. I think you might be over analyzing, because to me, Auron doesn't look any older than mid 40s. One reason why he could look so young before was to emphasize how different he was a decade before, even if it included making him look very handsome.

Wakka's age in FFX: 23
Auron's age in FFX: 35
yet the truth lies with the stress levels and stuff Auron went through on Braska's pilgrimage. ... That and *spoiler* he's dead... He's unsent, its how he got to Tidus's Zanarkand, and its also why he looks older. I think its got to do with being unsent, Maester Mika looked like he was nearly 200 years old, remember? and he was a Maester for 50 years, and more than likely, unsent for 30/40 years of that time.

maybe if your unsent you look older quicker
spoiler
remember that guy in ffX and ffx-2 who used to live in zanarkand and is an unsent ?
hes around 900 years old as well and looks old

for the old man... do u mean maechen?
and for ur theory on aging faster (if your an unsent), i don't know about it, but my guess is no. you don't know for sure auron could be one of those people vegnya talked about

and he looked so much younger ten years ago becuase he was 25 but thats my opinion:D

I honestly think its because being an unsent, makes them look older than they really are. Seriously, Auron still had his strength, and stamina, etc. from when he fought with Braska and Jecht against the previous Sin.And in FFX-2, In the cave underneath Bevelle (not cave, the Ruins... The one's Trema found... I can't remember the name...) and you find these guys that are unsent, like, every 20 Levels or so. They all look really old... then they become fiends and attack, but that's a different topic... ^_^

So yeah, I honestly think being an unsent makes you age (appearance wise) faster.

This was something that bugged me for a while, too. I'm not sure if the dead can even age, I don't think they should.

i think your right there dead they shouldn't be able to age but they probably can when auron died he looked young, it was right after braska and jecht died right? so in the farplane you age. I think thats right but i don't know

In FFX-2, there was a Zanarkand sphere. In that sphere, you heard a man say he couldn't believe he got to shake her hand. That man, as the observant few know, is Maechen. Reference to this was made when he shook Yuna's hand, if you handed the Bevelle Sphere over to the Youth League. He says it was similar to...and not say the name, but it was evidently Lenne. Maechen sounded exactly the same in that sphere, as he did in both games, meaning that either he had a very withered voice in his youth, or that the theory of the unsent being able to age is ballony. I also doubt that ageing quicker is plausable. Seymour was unsent for a fair amount of time (not as long as the other, granted), but never once changed in appearance, nor vocally.

As for the Auron situation, that totally contradicts the Maechen situation. Auron obviously aged the ten years while unsent, but Maechen never changed at all. Maechen would have to look skeletal if that were the case. More than likely just an oversight on Square's behalf.

Auron looked older because Square didn't really think about how much someone's looks change in 10 years. That's all.

Maybe all the time travelling with sin warped his youth? Its a long shot, and i know Tidus was not effected by it... But again, maybe unsent's don't like time travel...

Auron controls the pyreflies to make him age so no one would know hes unsent except for the fact that Seymour found out by his Guado sences.
That's true, it is possible to believe that Auron somehow managed to control the pyreflies around him in order to make sure that no one noticed that he was already dead. Then again we have the situation of the unsent Leader of Yevonites that was also already dead but he didn't had any physical changes as well as in the situation of Seymour. So here is the possible answer..Auron traveled to the dream world of Zanarkand (not through time because this world is not real) in which there are no differences between the living or the dead because all of the people in here aren't really supposed to exist. He stayed in there for some years in order to take care of young Tidus. So I think because as a side effect of being inside the dream of the Fayte his appearence changed somehow. The balance of this world was then disrupted when the fayth sent Jecht to the real Spira in a plan to get rid of Yu-Yevon inec and for all. Jecht became the fayth necessary to create the Final Aeon but because he was not a real soul, he weakened Sin giving the posiblity to destroy it. Then the Dream of the Fayth sent Tidus in order to finish this once and for all. And you now the rest of the story.
I'm not sure about this info, so if someone can correct me then please be my guest.

What about Shuyin? That's another question. Here he is 1000 years old, unsent and he still looks extremely young. You'd think that he'd age as well or maybe I missed something? Yet Maester Mika was unsent and looked extremely old, like closer to his 80s or 90s and Auron looks the age he is specified. If they all age even though they're dead and unsent, how come Shuyin didn't?

Good question, Tidus_Girl. Unfortunately one I can't answer, lol

But I did notice Auron looked way older. He looked like he was in his early twenties in Jecht's sphere. In the actual time placement of the game, he looked around his mid-40's. True, it could be due to the stress, but still. He looks way too much older.
