"Nothing, I just ..." Faith began to say. "It's been a long day. I need to go to sleep or else I'll only end up trashing the place around." She rose to her feet, picked up the keyboard and checked it out. It's not broken. Damaged a little, but it's nothing that Filden can't handle. Speaking of him, what the hell is the history between him and this ... Rene? "I'll tell you in the morning if you plan on staying, which I don't think you have any choice in, anyway." She wiped the sweat off her forehead; that had been too much working overtime in the past week that caused that. "The bedrooms are down below the main area you came in," she told him.
Faith paused for a moment, wondering. Was Filden lying when he said he didn't know her when he'd first joined The Avengers? She had to look into that. "When you get down the stairs, take a left and find a room that doesn't have a name plate on it," she said. "I'm aware that one of our members asked you to join us. Give it sometime, think about it and let me know soon. If you decline, well ..." She smiled weakly. "It looks like I just might have to wipe your memory clean of you ever coming here. Good night, Rene." With that, she telekinetically turned off the computer and walked out of the room to her own bedroom, thinking about Patricia. She's dead and there was nothing I could do to stop the explosion, she thought, as she lay on her bed.
