The title is pretty self explanatory, but to go more in depth, some examples of what I'm talking about are:

- Shinra
- Cid
- Various GFs/Aeons/Summons names
- And I also heard that FFVII and FFX are in the same universe, just millions of years apart. And I think that's enforced in FFX-2 when Shinra finds out that the Farplane has a lifeforce that could power the world and they could build a huge glowing metropolis, and I think that was all just a little joke.
- Another joke in FFX-2 relating to FFVII is if you decide to blame Rin for the Mi'ihen Incidents with the machina, he goes off and has dialogue where it makes him sound almost exactly like the FFVII Rin, as he talks about "Machina" being a huge advancement, regardless of how many people it kills.

Anything else?

There's Gilgamesh, and it's open to interpretation as to whether it's the same guy in all the games. I don't think so, but in FFXII he does have Lionheart and the Buster sword and the Brotherhood unless I'm very much mistaken.
There's the weapons, Ultima and Omega.
Ragnarok, a summon, a weapon and an airship.
And Zidane says something like 'no Cloud or Squall will hinder us'.

It is said that Gilgamesh is the only character able to travel between dimensions ever since he was cast away into the Dimensional Void. He even hints it throughout the games.
In FFXII, he has the same Zantetsuken sword he acquired when Seifer reversed Odin's attack, causing it to kill the GF and giving Gilgamesh the fourth one's sword. Also the Gilgamesh from FFXII has copies of the swords of most of the main heroes because he had always failed to retrieve the original ones.

I guess if you wanted to include names of summons you could go with that.

I mean almost every game has a Shiva, Ifrit, or Bahamut name involved in it in some way. Also FFXII made it's summons/espers have a few names of the final bosses from previous games like Exodus (Ex-Death), and Zeromus.

You looking for references

excalibur, job system, Cloud (since he appears in fftactics), judges, Jobs such as blue mage, warrior and such.

There's a lot of references and Terra and Gaia are known through out the series too.

Hmm I guess I would say that all Final Fantasy's take place in the same universe. Dissidia could be proof of this. And some crossover of characters like Cloud coming to Ivalice, or Gilgamesh switching dimensions to other worlds like FF8 and FF12, and making occasional cameo appearences in other games.

Many if the summons stay the same throughout the game, shiva, ifrit, bahamut. Theres chocobos in every FF game aswell. Then of course Gilgamesh, Cid, Biggs and Wedge. In FFIX Zidane makes a remark in a weapon in lindbulm ' i remember a guy with spikey hair who used to carry something like this' A referance to FFVII

Another reference would be in FF8. One of the shops in Esther is called "Cloud's Weapon Shop" or something like that. Thats a direct reference to Cloud from FF7.

Also, in FF7 - there is a summon named Ramuh, which is a direct reference to Ramuh from FF6.

Then there's the Excalipoor. Its a very interesting reference. In FF8, one of the four finishing moves that Gilgamesh pulls off is called the "excalipoor". It only does a damage of 1 hp to the opponent. In FF5 Gilgy confuses Excalipur for the Excalibur and uses it in battle, and it deals only 1 hp damage. When Exdeath sees this, he banishes him to The Void for his incompetence.
