When a murder of a physicist, Leonardo Vetra, finds a symbolist, Robert Langdon, and Mr. Vetra's daughter, Vittoria, on an adventure for a secret brotherhood, The Illuminati. Clues lead them all around the Vatican, including the four alters of science, Earth, Air, Fire and Water. An Assassin working for the Illuminati, have captured four cardinals, and murders each, painfully. Robert and Vittoria also are searching for a new very destructive weapon that could kill millions.

Can't wait for this film to come out, I didn't think the Da Vinci Code was all that bad and this is definitely Dan Brown's best novel and outdoes the Da Vinci Code by a million miles in terms of plot and action, so if the film can live up to the book it should be pretty sensational. 8D

One thing I don't get, do you have to watch the Da Vinci Code to understand this movie? It feels like it involves the same characters, so I dunno >_>

You'll never understand it. Inbetween the hatred of religion and the church to the ludicrous plot twists with superman/James Bond-esque hero who is a doctor of something ridiculous like ancient symbols who makes the incredibly attractive wimmin who is also a doctor fall in love with him, and the gag that you knew was coming after she first mentioned that she does Yoga.
Dan Brown is a very talented writer, in as much as he makes Jeffrey Archer not seem like the worst author in the world.
That being said, it's James Bond with a PhD, but minus the wit and all the greatness.

I think James Bond is crap.

But I heard that the novel of Angels & Demons was a damn site better than the Da Vinci Code. And doesn't A&D come first?

But I sorta enjoyed the film of the Da Vinci Code, regardless of all the debate about religion, etc. Half the people that had problems with it aren't even religious. People just like things to moan about.

But it should be a good film if it has more action and a better plot, as I've been told many times over.

No, the stories are only related by the presence of the same protagonist. :wacky:

I kinda think that they dropped the ball a bit with the Da Vinci Code, and the controversy surrounding the book (which only became an issue once the movie was released, eh) clouded the waters as well. I consider this a second chance for the Dan Brown book-to-movie business. =P

I've always thought that Angels and Demons was the best of his books...and certainly has the best plot for a movie. I'll have faith that Ron Howard won't screw it up until I watch it for myself.

Angels and Demons does come before The Da Vinci Code, but as far as continuity goes there is hardly any so it really doesn't matter which order you watch/read them.

I really like Angels and Demons, it's got an exciting plot although isn't particularly good in any other aspect, like characterisation or anything. It's a lot better than The Da Vinci Code too imo, so if you liked that and weren't offended by any of the blasphemous shit then you'll love Angels and Demons.

I'm not that excited by the film, though I'll probably watch it online or something after it comes out to see what's made of it. I don't know if I want to though, I think I'd prefer to just stay with my own making of it and not have it ruined by the film, like certain other books. -_- It's set in Rome though so that can only be good... I hope.

I haven't seen the Davinci Code, but I have seen Angel and Demons.

Sounded more appealing then the Davinci Code.

It was quite disturbing this movie. I was shocked at who the culprit turned out to be in the end.

I was like 'OH it's him!' But then thought it couldn't be after a few more events that followed and then was actually shocked for once. 0_0

Great movie. Need to watch it again. It was very fast paced too.

It was scary when they got stuck in that airtight room too. =0

Quite the good film this is, actually. I don't care at all for The Da Vinci Code, but when this came out and my gran suggested going seeing it in my college holidays, I agreed. I still won't be seeing The Da Vinci Code, but Angels and Demons was better than I expected. It certainly kept me on the edge of seat throughout.

Ive seen both Dan Brown movies and read Da Vinci Code. And I prefer Da Vinci Code. Angels and Demons was over so fast for me. And I didnt enjoy it as much. Even though I didnt get round to finishing the book, I knew who had done what if you get me. Good casting though, but Da Vinci all the way for me.
