The movie was average too in my opinion. Though it was still a good movie, It just depends on what your into and that you like Marvel movies and what not.
Nah I don't understand the hype towards it. I dislike Iron-man so I'm not going to see it anytime soon. Even without Iron-man the rest of the heroes are still bleeh.

I agree, it is over-rated. 
The highlight of the movie was black Nick Fury running onto the carrier deck and shooting down the f-22 with a rocket launcher.
The Hulk is the most intelligent character in the entire movie.
Loki looks like a homeless guy who duct taped parts he found in a dumpster to himself because he couldn't afford real body armor.

The movie was hilarious and had lots of good action. That's good enough for me.

Loki makes sense as the villain anyway. He was the better villain out of all of the Marvel joint-universe movies.
It also makes sense because Loki was the first foe of the Avengers in Avengers #1.
