Agito/Type-0 Crew have card names?

I just realized something, some of the main characters of Agito/Type-0 have card names such as:

Jack (katana)
Queen (longsword)
Ace (cards)
Seven (flail/whip-thingy)
Eight (martial artist/ bare-handed)
Nine (spear)
Cinque(italian for five, i believe) (mace)

But then again Trey (bow+arrow) doesn't really fit, unless it could mean a number in a different language. I DON'T KNOW! What do you think about the whole card name thing, could it mean something?

Trey could easily be Tres in Spanish.

But where did this come from? When were names released?

I believe they were released in a japanese gaming magazine, if not, then the S-E 1st Production Department Premiere. I found it on Final Fantasy Wiki and Wikipedia

A lot of the chars have names after cards.. but if I count the set of cards its like 13 cards.. and I believe there are only 12 playable chars?

Anyways a part of them have cardnames but I dont think all of them will be called after cards..

is kinda a FFVIII Remake
with the whole student thing
and all having an exclusive weapon and such

looking forward to this game

Apparently Japan has a summer release, so other territories will likely follow on soon after that. An autumn/fall release sounds likely. But this isn't really the thread to ask for a release date, so do make sure your post does contribute to the thread topic at hand. =]

12 playable characters (not including Machina and Rem) named after cards in some way sounds pretty logical to me, though I wonder what the significance of this card theme is. And who the Joker is. xD However, I can't say I like the card-theme names. Something like Ace and Cinque I can stomach but Seven, Eight and Nine are uhh, perhaps the least spectacular names I've heard in the FF series yet. It also sounds like they're desperately short on interesting Latin-esque/weathery names for some reason.
