A Batch of New Nier Screenshots [2/11]

A batch of eight new screenshots for Square Enix’s upcoming action RPG Nier have been released tonight. We see Nier and company standing, fighting, looking at wolves — you know, the usual.

Nier is slated to hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 22 this year.

By the looks of it, the game doesn't seem all that bad. The graphics are pretty good IMO and it apparently has a lot of wolves =P seems like they don't like eachother >.> lol. Can't wait for the game ^^ looks pretty neato.

I like the art direction, although based on those screenshots alone there's not much else you can say about the game. I still don't know about the main character, though, in terms of creativity, because of trying to "appeal to the west" he looks out of place now compared to the characters :S

It does look awfully brown for my liking. But then again I see a lot of games with a lot of brown and grey anyway, so I should be used to it by now. The graphics look alright - nothing special. The wolves do look rather intimidating though. Not to mention horribly muscular as well!

It looks visually impressive... Like a Tim Burton tale set in the world of Ico (if we were to ignore the classically muscular hero).

The character design is pretty impressive (again, minus the classically muscular hero, though he isn't too bad for that type of design ). I'm particularly fond of the white skeleton-like creature with the awesome grin. I thought he'd be an enemy from the original trailer, but he looks like someone who travels with you, or a party member (if this game allows you to control other people than the main character).

The girl looks very gothic, and seems to fit the dark but quirky theme this game might be trying to express.

That thing with the floating metal card head looks weird, yet interesting too.


I'll remain to keep a bit interested in this game.
