400 DAYS' And Counting!!

Something tells me it won't be 2011 if they get the Japanese version done in 2009 or early 2010. I can't see a huge game hotly anticipated by the west being put off for up to two years AFTER the release of the game in Japan. We aren't in the early 90's late 80's anymore. I realize that this conversion from Japan to English is much more involved considering there is the PS and Xbox versions to do.

I'm not really up on the info for versus but I'm assuming versus is coming out after 13 (could be wrong) and if thats true then that pushes versus back even further..so we are looking at 2012 possibly? Thats a little too hard to chew for me. So i'm hoping for a US release sometime in 2010 for 13. Feel free to correct me if i'm off somewhere
 
The games are the same. So they only have to translate one of them and then put it on the other as well. It should not take a whole year to do that (unless they're lazy). My guess is that the game comes out in say august-ish 2009 in Japan and then maybe June-ish in America and after that it really shouldn't take long before it reaches us in Europe.
Basing this on the fact (I believe it is a fact) that they'll bring out a demo early next year. After that It probably wont take to long to finish the game itself. Although you can never say for sure.
Best you can do now, is replay the old Final Fantasies. Or go do a crash course in Japanese so you can play it sooner... I recommend the first one though. It's not exactly an easy language.
 
Well, would you rather a poorly made game with no effort put into plots, characters or settings, that was released every few months, or a well made, decent game you can enjoy and say "I enjoyed that game."
 
Don't get me wrong I'd much rather have a well developed game...but some of the FF's that were extremely well developed (IMHO) were converted from japanese to english in 6-ish months...so that really shouldn't affect how long the western version takes. I still think the Japanese version will be out late 2009 or early 2010 since a Demo will be out sometime this spring (at least in Japan) which will put the game out hopefully in America sometime in 2010
 
Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII are going to be my favorite games I hope it replaces Final Fantasy VII at least. Yeah it will be a very long time but just chill on the forums and it should not be.
 
I know this is probably the wrong dates but why does amazon have FF13 being released Dec 1 2009 and FFV13 being released Dec 13 2009. Where does amazon usually get there dates?

Nevermind...must have looked over the box that says they are estimates and subject to change. However I'd be interested to see why they "Estimated" these dates

Ah, it would be awesome for FFXIII to be released on Summer 2009 Worldwide as they did with Last Remnant (wich i don't own and not going to buy btw :P )
But man....they 're taking very much time to release a FF....
Previous game on the series was FFXII wich if i'm not wrong it was released in Europe at least at 2005?
Well Star Ocean 4 is on the way along with all those spin offs (Dissidia, FFIV remake) so that kinda explains the delay....>_<
 
Versus has been completed long ago, the team working on versus is assisting with the original xiii. Im expecting Q4 2009...although we could get lucky and get it Q3.

It might be 2011 for us Europeans actually then haha. Seriously though, "no earlier" probably means "later", so I wouldn't be half surprised if we don't get it before that. Square have always been painfully slow when it comes to the PAL releases of their games.
 
I don't like it!
I'll be spending 5 whole months in Japan and I still have to import it because I'll be back in The Netherlands when it comes out. That just isn't fair. Not that I will understand much of it. Its probably loaded with unknown kanji anyway.

after making us wait so long that BETTER live up to its hype....but i think its going to be ealier than you all think aswell. Its going to superise you. But if the game doest live up to its hype square better watch thier backs cuz there will be alot of po'd fans
