400 DAYS' And Counting!!

Awfully frustrating though that it takes Square-Enix so long to make a Final Fantasy game, most games don't take 5/6 years to make, that is a very long time, over half a decade. >_<

Nothing to do but wait, whining about it won't make it come out any sooner, so may as well just...try to be patient, as hard as it is, when we've already waited several years as it is... :|

Well I just got new game informer last saturday and it said the earliest they expect FFXIII in the states is 2010. Very possible it could be beyond that if anything gets delayed on the japanese release.

If they weren't releasing the PS3 and 360 versions at the same time we'd have it sooner -__- Well, the PS3 version at least.

As for me, I'm trying to be patient, but we still have a whole more year to go and then some most likely because of the unexpected "bumps" in the road Square always seems to run into. And all the while they release new awesome trailers that leave us wanting more...it's not fair >_>

How do you figure that? They're releasing the PS3 version as soon as it's done and then porting it to the 360. If they did both at the same time, it'd take much longer.

Thank fuck for that, as much as it has been said. I've yet to see any source that states directly that they will be released at the same time.

I thought they were releasing the PS3 version right away.... in Japan only. Then they're gonna do the XBox port, and release the PS3/XBox version in NA/Europe simultaneously.

That's what I remember reading anyway...

Oh...I could've sworn I read somewhere that they were going to hold off releasing the PS3 version until the 360 version was done. Guess not though...

Let's not go into this, they have already stated simultaneous release dates for the Xbox360 and PS3 (IN THE STATES) as for japan, they are releasing it separately.

I assume it has to do with Net gain of sales, they would lose to much if they released it at separate times.

If I need to quote my sources... sigh I'll do it again and again or just scan in the entire game informer page and clip it on.

I'd like quotes please, and if they are true, it goes to show the people running SE's marketing scheme are incompetent retards, and actually, no. Chances of it being released in Europe the same time as North America are very slim. Why? Because for Europe, FFXIII hasn't even started development on the 360 yet. I claim SE are talking bullshit about simultaneous release and also being released on the same console is only "planned" in Europe at least. :monster:

List will go on and on and on if I keep adding to sources, but here's the deal simultaneous release dates for US and Europe, but JPN will have PS3 version first.

No fun, but it's true. Like I said in the game informer that I received though, they are expected to release the PS3 version in JPN in 2009 and US version in 2010. Although they always push the dates back..

-- more to come.

Kitase: For development, the PS3 version is currently being worked on. We're going to complete that version first before we move onto the 360.

- Explain what they're gonna do with the PS3 version when that's fully completed and the development on the 360 version hasn't even started.

Square Enix are promising what they can't deliver methinks. A combination of their Marketing and Microsoft are killing XIII before it's even released.

Well of course the product can be finished. It's not a work in progress anymore, but now it needs to be sold off. Hince the reason they will first work on PS3 version, then port it to the Xbox360, but this is only for the states. As for JPN they will get theirs on PS3 right away and maybe never get the Xbox360 one, all depends what Microsoft agrees to do with SE.

I don't like it either, I wish I could play versus as of today, but it will give Xbox360 users the chance to play as well without having to buy another system.

So if I understand this right, there are two separate plans. One for Japan and one for the States. Japan will see the PS3 version first and then the 360 version. The states will see the two versions together?

It seems ridiculous but I'm going to go with a "wait and see" policy on this one.

Japan isn't seeing the 360 version at all. :wacky:
The states are apparently going to see both versions together at the same time.
Europe are supposed to be seeing both versions the same time as the states.
...however, development on the 360 version hasn't started but the PS3 version is coming to a closure and testing has begun.

They really are clueless. :wacky:

They came out and said about a week ago that they were going to finish the PS3 version and get it to shelves before they ever started porting it to the 360. How can what you said be right?

Look at as separate entities altogether.

1) You have the Japanese Release Date (2009)
2) You have the US Release Date (supposedly 2010 according to game informer)
3) You have the European Release Date (Supposedly 2010 as well)

Historically Japanese is always first (since it is dev'd there) - US next and European 3rd.

The process will be as they described:

1) Japan will get the PS3 version in 2009 but not the Xbox360 version.
2) US will get both PS3 version and the Xbox360 version at the same time, so to be honest this release date is really inaccurate to say the least. I don't see it coming out in 2010 maybe 2011.
3) Do your own research on European, not quite sure what the heck they are doing here.
