While the PC version of Final Fantasy XIV undergoes extensive improvements, we’ve heard very little news regarding the PS3 version of Square Enix’s mmorpg.

In the May 2011 issue of the Japanese publication, Dengeki PlayStation magazine, director Naoki Yoshida spoke very briefly about FFXIV on the PS3, only saying that they’re working to uprade the game’s graphics on the system.

Yoshida-san and the FFXIV development team are currently working hard to improve the PC version of the mmorpg before releasing the much delayed PS3 version.

Hopefully this will be out by the end of the year. That's interesting they're giving a graphical upgrade. Has there ever been screenshots/footage of the PS3 version?
 
Shortly after the initial PC release, the Dev team stated that the PS3 release would undergo a graphical overhaul. This was part of the cause in the delay in release. It was determined that the PS3 did not have the memory to produce the graphics the SE had promised. They actually told us they were downgrading the PS3 graphics and making adjustments so that it would be a smooth experience.

Perhaps they've found a better method since then? I know PC players feel like we are in Beta while they prep for the PS3 release. There is a lot of content still not implemented, the groundwork is all laid out, just not activated. It is speculated that it will all go live with the PS3 release, so I hope that comes sooner than later. Though there is lots of work still to be done with the PC release, I'm happy with the changes thus far.
 
I'd prefer PS3 version of FFXIV to get a cancellation.
And everyone will just forget that ever happened.
 
Meh, it is just a graphical upgrade. Not like there will not be much difference. Final Fantasy XIV already is having a hard time on PC already. Since they should have released the ps3 version ages ago. It looks better graphics wise.. but it does not contribute much. That being said, nobody is forcing anybody to buy the ps3 version so it really is not a big deal.
 
Im still in the debate stage of weather the game is worth it....I never play online games and at one point I wanted this to be my first.....But I still think its realy not worth the money.....
 
i hope prettier graphics isnt the only thing that there going do to the PS3 version... I rather hear about some of the upgrades there really going do before they start charging for the game, yes I hear little bits here and there but I wanna hear more of what the future of XIV will be.
 
All the changes they made or will make in the pc version will obviously be implemented in the ps3 version as well...so just check up on the pc changes and you will know whats up.

I heard they will rebuild or have rebuild the whole battlesystem for the better. That survey they had up really helped out a lot..

Also when it comes out on ps3 Im sure the first month will be free as well so you can always check it out and if you dont like it then cancel the subscription.

The only thing I am worried about is how the servers are.. would we still be able to play WITH pc players on the same servers?

How about the lag? I hope its non existent...yeah let me dream and wish it will go smoothly.. :griin:
