Final Fantasy XIII-2 leads supply trailer commentary

Square Enix has released a new trailer for Final Fantasy XIII-2, replete with detail thanks to commentary from Yoshinori Kitase and the game director Motomu Toriyama.

The developers discuss new and old characters, the evolution of Lightning, “cinematic action”, and the meanings behind trailers released so far.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is an unexpected extra entry in Square Enix’s loose series, Fabula Nova Crystallis. It stars Serah, sister of FFXIII’s protagonist Lightning, and is due on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan before the end of the year, with a Western launch in early 2012.

How can a character with no personality whatsoever evolve?

Honestly, looking at Serah in that image, it looks as though someone just photoshopped Lightning's face onto her. It's quite depressing, actually - I mean, I don't like her, but I wouldn't wish that on any video game character. The sad thing is she still looks like jailbait, only now she's angry jailbait.

In any case...is there any particular reason they released this? This tells us nothing new at all; we've known all this for months. They appear to be wasting our time and stalling until they can figure out what they're going to tell us next...again.

There was seriously no point whatsoever of this trailer as we saw all of this already. I agree with Martel on the part where they are wasting our time. Serah has evolved into what you call a horrible sexed up design. I really am not liking her design at all. Oh and yeah I can see a bit of Lightning in that face. Why this is useless? Well this they already told us... and those screens have been posted already. Honestly if the have to repeat just the past trailers we already know and narrate them, it is pretty much a waste.

Remember that teaser trailer when they announced this game Lightning with pretty decent armor and some purple dressed dude...

Apparantly SERAH is the main lead instead.... thats like freeking ha yo as got punk'd!

WTF.......or am I missing something? Who is the main char? It seems Serah....at least Lightning never seemed so kiddy...freeking childish game this seems with the throwable moogle and all...I have no desire to pick this up...never played FF13 as well....

Also THIS ABOMINATION is the main reason FF13Versus got delayed..I am sure of it..cause they want to milk this pre template from FF13... it seems basically a rehash with minor changes that was originally dlc...

Now, Serah really looks like Lightning with an alternative hairstyle. But whatever. I find it somewhat annoying that they have been delaying Versus in favor of this series... And a sequel, no less.

On a side note, I think the new look kinda made Serah uglier. Just sayin'
