21st December 2012 = Doomsday

I heard first in my life that Doomsday would happen in the year 2000, then 2005 now 2012. After 2012 it will be 2016 and so on and so on. To be quite honest Doomsday is the name of the character that killed superman and thats that.

I too believe that all this Doomsday talk is utter bullcrap, and like SA said, first it was 2000 then 2005 and so on, fanatics will just keep moving the date up until it finally happens 200 years from now, and then they'll say "we told you so" , morons.
 
...but August isn't the 6th month. June is :P

Actually no, it isn't.
 
I heard there was this Volcano in Africa. Facing the Atlantic Ocean. Scientists say that it will probably errupt in 2012. The point is that that volcano is millions of years old. Thia will be it's last erruption because when that happens it will collapse. During the collapsing the rocks from the volcano will fall into the Atlanic, those rocks are so big that they will form a tsunami towards North America and South America. It may even reach my home, Ireland. However that's just a prediction.

There is one very easy way to know if there's going to be Doomsday on 2012, and that's pets. Animals have special senses that human doesn't have. They can feel if a natural desaster is coming. Remeber in December 2 years ago, while we were celebrating Christmas there was a huge tsunami coming at Shri Lanka (or was it Vietnam?) The first to notice the danger were the Asian elephants (elephas maximus). After the disaster, all the animals "somehow" survived.
 
It's gotta be a hell of an erection ups... eruption to cause a Tsunami, also if they know it's coming they might find a way kind of mellow it down a bit so it doesn't cause that much damage, at least that's what I think. :D
 
i perdict that NOTHING WILL HAPPEN! maybe when we start having robots as slaves then we better watch out but for now.... we seem to be safe other then global warming and terrorists. :)
 
and we do have robots, they even race them like hampsters, not to mention having robot vacuum cleaners and what about computers? if we had an EMP blast worldwide we would be screwed, no technology whatsoever!

America had records suggesting a tsunami would hit Sout-East Asia weeks before it happened, and yet neglected to act upon it. I doubt this incident will be an exception, if it were to happen.
 
America has all the power to find out about these things yet doesn't have the brains to act accordingly, kind of a screwed up way to think.

You want to hear something interseting.
the same people that predicted the doomsday you are talking about, also predicted like 5 other times the world was supposed to end and yet didn't. also only the predictions tat they made that did come true are known. I garruntee that they have made thousands of other predictions that never came to be. the others are only remembered because they got lucky.
 
I know it would not be the end of the world but we would have a worldwide panic which would lead to riots and eventually we would end up killing ourselves due to going so primitive and mad
 
There's several records of various civilisations predicting Doomsday on 21st December 2012. That's what makes the whole thing so interesting. It's not like the whole Y2K bollocks, that was obviously a farce from day one. Of course this isn't going to pan out either, but it's strange to see that date cropping up throughout history as The Apocalypse.
 
you know about 15 yeas ago those same records were said to have predicted that it would happen in 2000, and we all know how that turned out. once one is proven wrong people wil say they interpreted it wrong and come up with another date.
 
Nah, we would survive, it's in our blood, part of our animal instinct, sure a lot may die, but not all. Plus that way the Earth would have time to heal a bit :D
