Square Enix have a new iTunes and Android game in development, but they haven’t even said what it’s called yet. All we have for now is the image above, mentioning some of the game’s staff members.

Souki Tsukishima is the scenario writer for Root Double: Before Crime * After Days, a futuristic adventure game being published by Yeti. Meanwhile, Motomu Toriyama should be more familiar, having directed the recent numbered Final Fantasy games. Finally, you know Shinji Hashimoto as the producer of several Square Enix games, as well as the person managing their Twitter account.

The code for the game’s website has the game’s genre listed as “adventure game book” — you know, those “choose your own adventure” books where you make decisions that alter the story. Since Toriyama’s role is listed as “comic,” perhaps this is some sort of graphic novel?

Oooh, cool. I recently took an interest in the Gamebook sort of applications for the iPhone, and thought it was quite a refreshing change from the usual RPG. Not the best, but not that sucky either.

I suppose I'll check this one out when it's released.

Someone finally got it right (y)

In any case, this sounds vaguely interested...there aren't very many visual novels on the app store that aren't entirely in Japanese, and having one from a developer I've actually heard of - even if it is Square Enix - would be nice.

But this whole thing makes me think of the "Give Yourself Goosebumps" books I used to read as a kid...

I dont have an android phone/iPhone or any smartphone..even If I had would I try this out..nah not even if it was free..SE tries to take a slice of every pie available..Im not sure wether I have to applause them or be enraged by this useless shit they focusing on lately...its annoying...

I'll put this here, it doesn't warrant a new thread anyway:

Remember that mystery mobile title Square Enix was teasing earlier this month? The publisher has revealed the game's true identity to be "Imaginary Range," an iPhone/iPod touch/iPad title that will be released on May 5 at the very attractive price of free.

Imaginary Range is set in France following the invasion of a mysterious giant creature known as Omega. Main character Cid, a psycho therapist, and his partner Shera enter France to learn the purpose of Omega.

The options menu for Imaginary Range lists "Comic," "Game," "Gallery" and "Options." In comic mode, you advance through the story, which is told through comic-style frames, some with still images and some with moving components.

The game part appears to consist of mini games which you encounter at various points in the story. Square Enix hasn't provided details aside from the screenshots that you can see at Famitsu.com.

An Android version of Imaginary Range will also be released in late May.
Imaginary Range is developed by h.a.n.d. The official site listed Shinji Hashimoto as planner and producer, Motomu Toriyama as supervisor, Souki Tsukishima as scenario writer and Toshiyuki Itahana as comic illustrator.

Awww, that actually seemed kind of interesting. But I guess for a not-so-deep premise, mobile does appear to be the appropriate device. Just play it when you get time like you do other cellphone games, right? :hmmm:

It seems interesting, but I won't be getting it. As I will never buy an Android or anything like that. :/

I'm far more interested, currently (as the lack of information xD) in the art. Who is the artistic talent behind the game? It looks incredibly familiar, but I cannot put a finger on it. Does anyone know?
