Final Fantasy XIII-2 theme songs revealed

PS3 and X360 versions have different themes.

Square Enix revealed the theme songs to Final Fantasy XIII-2 during a Japanese TV broadcast. The PlayStation 3 version will feature Fukui Mai’s “Yakusoku no Basho,” and the Xbox 360 version will feature “New World” by Charice.

The PlayStation 3 song is in Japanese, while the Xbox 360 song is the same song, but in English

Square Enix didn’t say why each version has a different theme song.

Why did Square Enix do that...why?

sometimes I wonder what these Video Game Companies are thinking...and yet the more I think of it, the more I wanna watch the industry starts to go through that Too Big To Fail phase...

Personally, they've could've done the smart thing, and put both themes in both versions instead of doing that.

Wow, that's crazy. Its like they are starting to initially separate the titles for the consoles. Wonder if that will go far.

I dont see the point in having seperate themes x.x but at last eitherway Im sure the english version will be just as beautiful since it usually ends up that way. But seriously why seperate themes .___. I just hope thats the only song cause of both games will have literally an entire different set of themes I really dont know what to say that :I

If you actually listen closely to the brief two versions, they are the same -.- just that they are in different languages, sang by two different people.

I am pretty sure they are the same, after listening to the video a few times, they have almost identical melody progression.

so I guess we are back to the old times when the theme songs are the same apart from the language (Melodies of Life, etc).

I am loving the theme song.

another idiotic decision base on only one concern - how good the thing will sell everywhere. Make it as less individual as possible.

I see the reasoning behind doing that. It's a stupid reason, but I see why they did it.

The Xbox 360 is all but dead in Japan. And everyone who owns one tends to like American culture and is in a niche group in Japan. So they just decided to make the song into English, which they will probably keep for both PS3 and Xbox over here in America. I'm fine with this. It's a lot better than taking "My Hands" from Leona Lewis. THAT was a weird decision. This isn't all that weird, just kind of dumb.

This.

It's pretty much guaranteed that this will only concern those people living in Japan. An English version of the song over there might have a certain appeal to the Japanese public, but a Japanese song over here has virtually no appeal to anyone except those who like Japanese music anyway. I don't really care for the theme song anyway, the only thing I dislike about "My Hands" is the fact it didn't really suit Final Fantasy XIII, as a standalone, it is a great song and Leona Lewis is an amazing singer. She could have sung the next theme for all I care as long as the song fits the game and that they don't do that daft advert where she's playing the game and raving about it, when she probably didn't have a clue -.-
