So, in case you were unaware, in Final FantasY IX it is possible to defeat the game's strongest optional boss (Ozma) before you fight the second strongest one (Hades).
Hades, being awesome, will acknowledge this feat and act quite terrified of you.

But this got me thinking... Hades at least had the brains to be scared of you. He knew he was screwed since you already beat a guy way stronger than himself.

The actual villains of the games though, aren't so clever. Sephiroth, Ultimecia, Shuyin, they all thought they actualy could pose a threat to the party even if you've managed to take down Emerald Weapon or Penance.

So, the point of this topic is to type up what you think the final bosses would say if they knew what the party had accomplished.

Example: How would Vayne react to hearing you defeated Yiazmat?

Actually, I think the game developers will consider that most people won't take the time to defeat the optional boss fights prior to completing the game for the first time. Though I admit if would have added some spice watching Vayne acknowledging you for defeating Yiazmat, although I don't think Vayne knew of Yiazmat's existance.

Then again, it really depends on the personality of the main antagonist. For example, I don't think Shuyin would care much since his only obsession is to be reunited with Lenn and to exact revenge on Bevelle. We can also add that he had a weapon that could rip Spira a new one if he fired that cannon.

Ultimecia already knew what was going to happen and still fought desperately to alter her fate while failing to notice that it was her who began the cycle all along.

Sephiroth was already on his way to wacko-asylum so he wouldn't care much either.

The main problem is to make the antagonist acknowledge this feats while keeping plot holes to a minimum.

I do always read it aloud in a Russian/Bulgarian (etc) accent. Still, she's an idiot.
