I actually checked all 14 pages to be sure this wasn't already around...

Anyway, there's already a thread for favorite songs, but what are some of the songs out there that just leave you with a happy feeling? Songs that you can listen to and they improve your mood instantly with the first notes?

Come Sail Away - Styx
I'll admit it; I hear that piano start and I know in a few seconds I'm going to be singing along. I'm usually off-key, but dammit this song is uplifting and works for a natural high

Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles
Really, after the mind-thrashing track that is "I Want You (She's So Heavy)", this at first leaves me feeling mentally deflated, but as the song goes on I end up feeling more optimistic about everything and can't listen to it without smiling.

Mull of Kintyre - Wings
This is basically Wings' version of "Here Comes the Sun" for me. That's all I can really say about it.

Boom De Ah Dah - Discovery Channel
Despite all that is wrong with the world and all the wars/starvation/unhappy stuff, doesn't this song just leave you feeling better about everything? Great, now it's stuck in my head...

So Happy Together - The Turtles
It's relaxed, calming, and just plain...well, happy

Burnin' For You - Blue Oyster Cult
I can't quite figure out what it is, but there's something about this song that's instantly relaxing. Maybe it's the vocals, or maybe it's the tune of it all. I don't really know for sure.

Also, just about any Christmas song leaves me feeling happy, but the one that I always start off with that pretty much leaves me feeling good about everything is "When the River Meets the Sea" as performed by John Denver and the Muppets

Just about anything from Electric Light Orchestra. Most people here are probably way too young to know who that is. But maybe Blakstang knows...hmm. Anyway, Mr. Blue Sky is probably one of the best mood changers ever.

That and the entire Yoshi's Story Soundtrack.

This song always brings an automatic smile to my face. Possibly because of the lyrics, aha. He sings about spring days, being in love, being with the person you love, spring again... very poetic and a very touching song.

I know there's more songs that bring me happiness! I will be back when I remember them.

Final Fantasy 8 OST: That whole soundtrack makes my heart sour. It has its ups and downs and the music can leave me feeling bloody happy after a naff day.

Supermassive Blackhole by Muse: Uber sexy and makes me happy listening to it. I grin from ear to ear when I hear this and its amazing.

Songs of Love - Divine Comedy: The middle instrumental part was used fo Father Ted and its such a happy piece of music. You can see Craggy Island each time you listen

Lolz, yes I did mean soar lol. It didnt seem right when I typed it the first time. But yeah, thats what I mean.

Daft songs make me happy also, like Banana Phone, Scatman and chocobo themes espically lol. Just make you wanna bop and dance XD

Final Fantasy X Soundtrack - Wandering.

One of the main songs I put on when I don't feel like dealing with anything that could make me angry. It immediately calms me down and usually can put me in a good mood.

Glittering Cloud - Imogen Heap.

Anything by Imogen makes me happy. I adore her voice and this song just puts me in a good mood.

Save Your Scissors - City and Colour.

An absolutely beautiful song, with beautiful lyrics.

Dallas Green has an amazing voice. That is all.

Anything by Queen or Bon Jovi put me in a good mood almost instantly. The effect is even greater when I'm in the house by myself, so I can have them up as loud as is possible without not being able to hear anything. They're songs I quite often sing along to, and it just makes me feel better about things ♥

The NIER soundtrack has made me very happy recently, as well. Because its just so damned good. Its relaxing, and the vocals are beautiful. Nice for when I don't really want to concentrate on the lyrics of songs and just on the sound of the vocals.

Any ones in particular come to mind? I know for me Radio Gaga and Under Pressure...well, anything off the second disc of the Platinum Collection CD set does it. The two I listed are the big ones though.

Pretty much every Queen song puts me in a good mood, but if I had to pick a top three...I Want It All, Killer Queen and Somebody to Love. I just can't resist singing along to those ones.

Ace of Base quite often put me in a good mood, as well - especially Happy Nation, Tokyo Girl and Beautiful Life. I don't make a habit of listening to them often, though...its something of a guilty pleasure ♥

I'm a softie for threads like these...

You know how people drink, drug, pain their thoughts/troubles away? xD I can just sit here, and I'll go through my music, for whatever mood I'm in, and play said list for a while. Even if I feel like shit, I'll just get sad songs, and I'll sob along. I don't care, hell, it makes me feel relieved, and it sure does take stress away, even if it's just a little.

Songs that make me smile when they come on, though, are:

Celebrity Status by Marianas Trench - This song just makes me laugh. They're so to the point in this song, and it really makes me feel better if I feel like crap over some friendships. xD It's funny in more ways, but the music, and his voice, it really lifts my mood. xD

When It Rains by Paramore - This is just a drop dead gorgeous song. It has that carefree kinda feel to it, even though it's a pretty serious message. Huh, I'm just a sucker for good lyrics, and even if it's just one lyrical line out of a song that is written/sounds nicely, it can really lift my moods. =)

Beauty In The Breakdown by The Scene Aesthetic - First of all, good memories on this song. I got my guitar, and I am horrible at plucking strings, or picking an intro, and leave it to this song, that I really loved even then, to have a super fast intro =) I got it down now. Still mess up here and there, but... I know how to do it. So, whenever this song comes on, I get the urge to grab my guitar, playing guitar is something I enjoy, so this song is definitely something that makes me happy.

And last, and most likely one of the songs that is at the top of my feel happy list...

Plays Pretty For Baby by Saosin - The sound, the lyrics, the dude's voice, it just all sums up into one big puddle of funny sounding happiness. The music sounds so cheerful on it's own. Love it. =)
