'South Park' airs 'censored' episode after threat

I think that people shouldn't make such a big deal about what south park is doing; i mean they make fun of everyone it's just for a laugh nothing more. If it's on Comedy Central then how on earth could you ever take it seriously right?

Apparently, the Comedy Central producers thought otherwise. What irony.

But I suppose no Buddists decided to cause riots or other kinds of trouble over some South Park episode making fun of their religion.

As much as it sucks that the episode got censored and i hate to admit it, Comedy Central may have done the right thing because Muslim extemists can get violent. (Weren't they rioting a few years ago in Denmark when someone drew a picture of Muhammad?) Is the episode worth someone getting hurt? All because they showed a picture of a man?

And like everyone else said, I do not agree with what the extreme muslims. (And I say extreme because there are muslims that could care less if Muhammad is showed. Seriously, it's South Park. They make fun of EVERYONE.

I haven't really been paying attention to this story until now. I agree - Comedy Central took the sensible step in censoring here. I know it looked like a weird move, but honestly, for the sake of the people who are possibly involved in this, better safe than sorry. We have read before how volatile extremist Muslims can be at the slightest depiction of their prophet that they don't like. Van Gogh - sadly he was a victim of the mindless fanatism. But for the sake of a comedy animation - violence really isn't worth it. South Park satirises everyone. No one else has made a fuss.

Here in Britain, we also have extremist Muslims who despise our way of life as well, yet they live here. No. Why should they? Why should we tolerate having hatemongers around and accommodating them? If I hate a place, I would get the hell of there. But these extremists don't. They just sit back and condemn the very country they are living off. Disgusting. I know that it's only a minority of Muslims who are like this. There are nice, moderate Muslims and it is a shame that they feel that they are looked down upon.

This so facking much:dry:

i also love the fact the showed Budda Snorting Cocaine and Jesus watching Porn, did Buddists and Christians send death threats to Trey Parker or Matt Stone? nopee

I dont get it, they make fun of God, Jews, and other races and religions. I don't get why the people of the Islam religion have to flip out due to this, nobody else has.

They probably feel the need to protect their God from everything. Thing is, if Allah is supposed to be about peace, I'm sure that he would not like them to send death threats to people in his name! Or cause any violence against anyone because they represented him in an unfavorable manner.

And I agree with the post above. If you don't like a country's culture and values, why move there? Why not stay in your land where those laws are enforced? (Contrary to popular belief, the hirage (cover up) is not required by the religion, it is optional to wear it. But in some countries it is required by law) And seriously, why get so upset because some people are committing what they consider a sin? Just don't watch the episode and let the people that do worry about going to hell =P

Muslim extremist group...the FBI probably has tabs on them.

I think its just because instead of taking something as a joke, wich south park does to EVERYTHING, people will use any reason to make life hell for others simply because deep down they can use it as a valid excuse and it gives them the reason to do so...If you dont like something dont look/wach it...But ignorant people will act how ever they please and most times get pampered for it.

Actually, I kind of disagree. If they made the Muslims get violent, it should wake people up to the reality that there are people that exist that want to steal their rights away from freedom of speech. And if they don't feel as if their rights are being threatened, they're not going to do anything about the Muslims. They're not going to stand up for what we've been fighting for and finally attained after all these centuries. I certainly don't want to lose that ideology. Not after all that time and effort.

Actually, I find it even more abhorrent that there are people defending Muslims being allowed to flip out at having their religion being mocked by sacrificing free speech because they misunderstand the concept of multiculturalism.

With regards to the extremist Muslims residing in foreign countries debate, their religion, like every other I can think of encourages the spread of their faith. This, coupled with the fact that they don't actually feel morally obliged to non believers makes leeching of another's resources all the more satisfying I'd imagine.

Not that I'm defending that kind of Muslim. I play football every week with 15-20 Muslims of varying extremism and when compounded with the fact that I'm quite an outspoken Christian makes a tedious situation all the more precarious.

But as much as I believe the 9/11 attacks were not justified and that if you don't respect the laws of the land you should be punished, this morality talk is rich coming from those who ridicule religion yet cling to the morals they've imposed on society through thousands of years.

Why should I believe it's wrong to steal if I want something? Kill if I feel offended?

Who says what's wrong in an increasingly athiest society? Where do these morals come from?

Although I don't believe women should have to hide their faces in public and that if a person doesn't convert to your religion you have the right to kill them, I respect the fact that a Muslim bases his morality on theology however irregular or immoral it may seem to another person or different beliefs.

Society's laws have been shaped by religion since the dawn of time when man worshipped the Sun. That's were all this ideology comes from and that's why their are countries more liberal than others. Too many people discard religion as an obsolete method of control but in truth without it's deep influence on society we'd probably all be feral warmongers.

Actually, that's not quite true. I don't think any ideology is more responsible for abolishing slavery than secularism is. Because religion certainly didn't do that. And giving rights to women doesn't come from religion either; western religion encourages male dominated roles. And democracy came from Greek philosophers; this was never utilized fully by western civilization in the Medieval ages. In fact, it was put on the back burner until philosophers during the revolution were willing to consider it. And much of what the founding fathers of the States intended for their country weren't necessarily based off of religion either; just about any kind of freedom that a man can enjoy now in the western world may as well have stemmed from secularism, and not religion, as one would have. Most freedoms that we have now exist in spite of religion, and not because of it.

I see where you are coming from, but I think that most people already know that that radical Muslims do want to take away the rights of others. There is bigotry in the US against Muslims especially since 9-11. But you do have people that will defend them because they feel it is the right thing to do. The episode getting censored and all the controversy over it should be enough to wake people up. (Check the imdb board or South Park) I don't think anyone should be a marytr for this. And it's not really Comedy Central's place to put someone in that position.

And again, I don't agree with censorship and think that it sucks that Comedy Central had to take this action.

To be quite honest, when I first heard of this episode by my friend, I was like "SEND ME A LINK, FFS, I want to watch it" >.>

South Park made fun of almost every religion, if those "Revolution Muslims" don't like it then just fuck off and don't watch it, I haven't seen them make a fuss about Jesus being repeatedly made fun of, knowing that Jesus is also another Prophet for them and I sure haven't seen Christians make a fuss.

I find these stuff funny and yea I agree that dude went too far with the 911 attack comment.

He give a bad name to other Muslims. I live among them and a lot of them are actually open-minded, ppl like him need to fuck off and stop giving other people a bad name.
