I'm surprised to see that no one's made a thread for this, so here is one for everyone to discuss the new Transformers movie. I'm going to see this tomorrow and will let you all know what I thought. In the meantime, has anyone even watched this yet and what did you think?

I just got back from watching this and it was amazing! It was a vast improvement from the original, such as the bots' humour, more action scenes, more emotion, etc. I know many people haven't seen this yet, but you're in for a summer treat now, I tell ya! Keep an eye out for this when it's released. I had an afternoon worthy of seeing this movie - and I'm sure you will, too.

I can't wait to see it! The base theater here on Okinawa doesn't have it yet.
It's going to be so awesome! I loved the first one so if this one really is a
vast improvement it's got to be great.

Apparently it's better.

I think it premiers over here tomorrow. I'm planning to see it this weekend, but I'm not sure if I will like it. I found the first movie enjoyable but forgettable. Going by the trailers, I think this movie looks better than the first one though.

I saw this movie this afternoon, and I thought it was brilliant! The action scenes were amazing, and the robots were really impressive looking, particularly Optimus Prime and The Fallen.

The plot was a little on the thin side though >_> We noticed several plot holes, and it looked as though half of them died at least 7 times.

But, it's not meant to have an impressive plot, it's action scenes are meant to be impressive, and they certainly are.

I liked the first one better, tbph. This one was entertaining, funny as hell, with good action sequences like you'd expect, but there was this weird combination of it being slow and rushed at the same time. It was a little strange, and hard to put a finger on, but that's the impression I got. A touch on the long side too, at about 2-1/2 hours. But if you're looking for some mindless entertainment, this is the way to go.

I just saw the movie tonight. As expected, I was amazed and probably moreso than the first one. Actually, I really really like the movie and the storyline itself. I noticed that the whole time, the movie kept me suspensed and entertained, especially by the characters with their humor and great acting. There were some cheesy moments between Sam and Mikaela, which I already expected, but to actually see them kinda made me squirm in my seat for awhile. I really love the vast environment and places that they used to film this movie, most especially towards the end. It was interesting to see to say the least. There were a few moments that kinda tug at your emotions, or it was a good attempt anyway. Sam's parents were both hilarious as ever and the new character, Leo was actually pretty good too.

Overall I was really satisfied and I couldn't have asked for a better movie this summer. It was definitely worth it. I know it was a long movie but I'm not complaining because it's one of those movies that you'd like to watch over and over again for some pure action-packed scenes. I know that some people say that they felt like the movie dragged a bit towards the end, but I didn't really think so - in fact, I didn't really give it any thought at the time because I was so into the movie...it really pulls you in for some awesome distraction.
