Spoilers, spoilers anyone?

I'm really disappointed to see there won't be a villain storyline... I wanted to play through as Kuja and see what he was doing there ect. But since I don't read Japanese anyway, I guess it doesn't matter... Hopefully the bosses are selectable in 1vs1 mode so I don't have to play through the storyline to unlock them.

We still get to learn about why the villains are there through the hero storylines. As each hero has a main villain assigned to him/her and so the story will spread to include both, I'm guessing.
 
Sure those are interesting.. But, I'm curious, does the villains get their own storyline too? Will they have a storyline of their own..? Or if you're using them, they fight together with the troops of Cosmos?
 
The villains don't have their own storyline unfortunately, however, when you play through the hero's storyline you do get some exposition as to what's going on with the villains. So they aren't left completely in the dark. Apparently they are much less cooperative than their hero counterparts; some form small alliances, some try to manipulate eachother and some just do whatever they feel like :monster:

Also, the hero's storylines seem to interlap, so you get some more interaction/development of certain characters by playing all the storymodes.
 
Ooooh.. By the way, what if you choose to play the villains in Story Mode? How will the storyline move then?
 
The villains are unavailable at the start of the game, you have to unlock them by playing as the heros first :)
 
There aint a story mode for the villain but after you beat story mode with the heroes you unlock shade impulse and you got to go thru that with the heroes i assume you beat that you get shantotto and gabranth.
 
Gabranth and Shantotto will have their stories first unlocked, then you need to complete their story mode, so then they are avaible on the store.

Chaos is also avaiable but only as a CPU player. So you can fight him anytime.
Cosmos is a simple NPC character, she only appears in cutscenes.
