Doctor Who

I well get the feeling that Davros got out of that alive

RTD did leave it open deliberately(sp) for new writers to pick up from it should they choose apparently. The same with The Master (when you see that woman pick up the ring at the end)

It'd be difficult to put John Simm in there, considering he was the Master and all. Unless they decided to change his appearance a little.
Not really, it wouldn't be the first time that an actor gets the role of the Doctor having already been in the series as another character before hand, like Colin Baker, though his previous role wasn't anywhere as big as The Master.

Here's a very interesting article that I found and many people, notably Bambi, will be happy with this one.

Seven Doctors, No Waiting

Charity Special to Reunite Surviving Actors

We mentioned a rumor that the annual BBC charity special for Children in Need this year might feature a reunion of previous doctors along with the current Doctor, David Tennant. Now London’s Telegraph is report that the seven surviving actors who have played the Doctor will be reunited for the special, to air November 14.

An insider at the BBC told the paper, "It's a pretty ambitious idea and it's still being finalized. Everything is being kept under wraps but Doctor Who fans are in for a big treat."

The Doctor has been seen on the special for the last several years and the producers have carefully woven his short escapade into the current dramatic series continuity. Last year, for example, saw Peter Davison meet Tennant.

Reportedly joining those two will be Tom Baker, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann and Tennant’s predecessor in the current revival, Christopher Eccleston.

The first trio of performers to essay the role -- William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, and Jon Pertwee – have all passed away.

Davison’s daughter, Georgia Moffett, has been seen on the current series and is currently dating Tennant.

In related news, Tennant and his most recent companion, played by Donna Tate, have been nominated for the National Television Awards’ Outstanding Drama Performance. Tennant has won twice before and will go head-to-head with Tate who played Donna Noble. There’ll be no Doctor Donna winner in this, the first time male and female stars will compete in the same category. The Doctor Who stars face competition from Ashes to Ashes’ Philip Glenister and The Bill’s Alex Walkinshaw.

Where was that taken from? It all seems a bit fishy to me, especially since I read a while back ago that Tom Baker dismissed the possibility of him returning for one of the specials, because he isn't a fan of the crossover idea.

Ive watched bits and pieces of various Dr. seasons. I love the Doctor..... But I totally have fallen for CAPTAIN JACK HARKNESS.... Torchwood I love it... Wish the third season would get aired so i can watch it here in the states on SURF

I've watched very little of Doctor Who... it's hard without cable D:
I did manage to see the Journey's End though. I really enjoyed it. Other than that, I saw the two Doctor Who films that featured Peter Cushing: Doctor Who and the Daleks, and Daleks' Invasion 2150 (i think those were the titles). Yay for Peter Cushing. It took me a while to realise that they were non-canonical. I really wish i could watch more of the TV show...

David Tennant has apparently announced that he'll be quitting the show after the four specials next year - so who will take over for the next series in 2010? Any suggestions for who people would want?

Will be sad to see David Tennant to go if he is leaving :(

I just saw that on newsround (dont ask...)

I'm rather sad but I guess he wasn't gunna do it forever D:

I dunno who will replace him........it took me long enough to decide I liked him after Eccleston, so whoever it is, had btter measure up -__-

So, it seems Neil Morrissey will be taking over as the eleventh Doctor (if you saw Children in Need last night, that is). At first I didn't like the feel of him; I thought he seemed to be over-acting the part, but I've thought about it and he seems a lot like the previous incarnations of the Doctor. And I particularly liked his outfit, I hope that wasn't just a way of him fitting in with the setting. :wacky:

Don't you mean David Morrissey?

It's not been officially announced he's the next Doctor whatsoever. I think he's either a man who believes he's called the Doctor or a parallel one.

I don't think it's him.

Tennant is still doing 4 more specials next year, so for them to introduce Morrisey now seems a little weird if he is taking over.

It'd be like, Christmas special, Tennant and Morisey, extra 4 specials Tennant, new series Morisey.

Suppose it could be possible though. Considering he's a time lord and all that.

I do indeed, although Neil Morrissey would be interesting. :wacky:

I think it's pretty likely to be him. So far the only time they've had more than one Doctor in an episode it's been the current one and a previous incarnation of him, so having a future one isn't completely out there really. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of David Morrissey, actually.

The thing about Morissey possibly being a future incarnation of the Doctor after his Tennant form, wouldn't Morissey know that Tennant is himself from the past?

During the special preview on Children In Need, Morissey does not recognise Tennant, so for him to be a future version of him seems a little unlikely from that part. Tennant has always recognised himself when he's met past incarnations....

There's only one thing for it then.

Morissey's character thinks he's the Doctor; but he's not. He's living in some fantasy world.

Actually, all previous doctors have recognized their past selves, even if they didn't remember meeting their future selves.
Morissey, whoever he is, isn't a future regeneration of the existing Doctor. I vote not conman, but deluded or wanna be do-gooder. More interesting, that way.
Possibly the Monk from way back in the Start of the third Season. Nah. Way to obscure reference.

Not necessarily, he might have got caught up in the moment and not instantly recognised Tennant as a previous version of himself.

Thinking about it, there could be one major possible reason why Morrisey does not recognise Tennant.

The Doctor gets a bit fuzzy after he regenerates usually, sometimes he can act strange and not be 100% himself for a while after. So, Tennant could "die" and Morrisey takes over. This could be possible by Tennant changing to Morrisey, Morrisey going back in time a few hours and running into himself and not realising because he's a bit loopy at the time.

For that to be the case though, you'd have to ignore Tennant doing more specials next year and leaving before the new series in 2010.
