Hey... This isn't a moan, just something I've noticed recently.

Why doesn't anybody on this forum seem interested in Dissidia?

I haven't seen a post in the Dissidia related threads for a while (I've been talking to myself in them!), and yet new information on the game is popping up everywhere right now following TGS 2008.

To me this is the most exciting project to an FF fan to ever see development.. An FF fighter that looks like it actually may work, and one that is to include characters from all games up to 10, 50 summons, 4 alternate costumes per character, possible secret characters etc... This game is huge.

Even if the gameplay turns out to suck (which is unlikely when reading peoples reviews of the TGS demo) even seeing all of these characters together will be fantastic, and the wait has been really, really fun, especially these past few months with lots of exciting new information!

Right now it's the main thing I think about. Square hasn't taken this much care of fans for a long time, and this game shall keep fans of all eras happy (except perhaps the really, really late fans). So far the game has ticked all boxes of awesomeness in what they are planning to do with it.

So.... Why is nobody posting their views on this game anymore? Why is no one speculating what they may think the alternate costumes may be?

I've searched google for information on the game and came across countless other forums, and they've had massive discussions on the game... I even viewed the Square-Enix Forums to see what was going on on that front and they seem to have more information on the game posted there that I hadn't seen here or anywhere else (pics of Terra fighting Kefka).

What I'm asking, is where did everybody who was excited about the game in this forums community go? I understand people won't want to talk about it all the time, but surely with the latest revelations there will be somewhat of a discussion of it? There's been people posting in the Kingdom Hearts and FF13 news threads afterall...

Hmm, I don't think the concern is that no one is interested in Dissidia. I'm sure there's many out there interested in the game, and it has been discussed many times previously. If there are new information regarding the game, then I am sure it will be brought up eventually. I know people post news regarding Square Enix from time to time, and Dissidia will be amongst them. I, myself, have not had a chance to really thoroughly search through the countless threads and post in each one, but I do try to keep up and read up on some of the news when I have the chance. Truth be said, sometimes that's just how people do it - they'll read it without really posting their feedbacks and opinions. Or that they haven't had a chance to see these threads yet, or post new information regarding the subject. Could be anything, but I really doubt it isn't because we're not interested in the game. I'm very excited for the game to come out, that's for sure. =]

the game looks great and if they do it right, fun to play as well

but i don't own a PSP so i'll stick to waving as this one passes by...

I'm pretty excited about it. But in regards to your question as to why no-one here is discussing it, there is the point Mitsuki pointed out that some people just read and don't bother posting their opinions.

Personally though, while I am excited about it, I kinda already know all I need to know about it, I know it's a fighting game, I have an idea of the story, I know which characters are going to be in it and I know that there will be alternate costumes and summons.

So really I can't think of anything left to discuss, I guess speculation as to secret characters and summons would be interesting though.

I haven't had a lot of interest with any of the new Final Fantasy games lately. I do enjoy the series and talking about it but the games can getting boring to play after awhile which is why I have no interest in talking about Dissidia.

lol ^

My interest in the game keeps coming and going, there are threads on Dissidia, but I expect they are all in Sqenix news?

I guess a sub forum should be created for it somewhere....anyway, Im pretty sure Il end up getting it, just because I have a PSP and I wanna get my monies worth out if it xD

Ive been out of the loop for a while and only recently heard about the game.
Looking forward to it, just don't have anything to post on it yet.

I'm not going to bother getting my hopes up too much for it. It's a great idea with a lot of potential, but they'll probably be really over-elaborate about it and ruin it by trying to put in an epic storyline or a complicated system. If they make it a simple fighting game similar to Super Smash Bros. then I'll be happy.

I guess a sub forum should be created for it somewhere....

Perhaps that would be good, if not now then further down the line. I think one of the main problems has been that there isn't an easy place to look on this forum for things regarding Dissidia... A few are in General Final Fantasy chat, and a few are in the news threads, but you have to fish. But I don't know, maybe that would make it easier for people to talk about the game, make more threads about it etc, if people are willing to discuss it in there.

Hmmm. From everyones responses you've made some good points. People may still be excited about it, but it doesn't mean that they will post to show this. Would be great if they did though! (If they had anything to add)

To Motochika... I too am less interested in the newer FF's than I was FF1-9... But that is the reason I am MORE interested in Dissidia, for including characters from these games, and to sticking (as far as I can tell so far) to their true integrity. The only thing that has really made me cringe in regards to character design is perhaps Kefka's large purple lips, probably a bit too big and Joker'ish, but it still looks great, and I'm pretty sure one of his alternate costumes will be one of his more familiar looks, or perhaps the FF6 PS cgi version. Dissidia is sticking to an older FF theme (story hanging around the mythology of FF1 more than any others), and from what I can hear on trailers and battle scenes, the music is remixes of classic FF tracks. So should be something good for older FF fans to have a bash about.

If they dont try to make the game over the top then it should be good. SE has a bad habit of trying to make things too deep when they should just keep it simple.
The idea rocks i cant wait for the matchup's it's going to be pretty exciting :)

maybe its cuz psp isn't very popular compared 2 oder consoles, but yeh im lookin forward to dissidia 2

Frankly, I've just been too busy lately to respond to every little new thing I hear about Dissidia. Just reading through all of the new news about it and Versus XIII/XIII takes up a lot of time.

That said, I am really excited for this game to come out. The plot and the gameplay look really promising, so I can't wait to hear more about that. I'm loving the character designs so far as well, and I like that they each have four changeable costumes.

Personally, I'm not excited about Dissidia.

With the exception of Super Smash Bros, I have little interest in fighting games...especially those on a handheld console. I wouldn't be surprised if Dissidia ended up being all about presentation (cool visuals, lots o' characters) with little to offer in terms of gameplay.

I'd rather look forward to Versus XIII, anyway.

im looking foward to this game a lot.
just the fact that you can now take your favorite characters and make them beat the holy hell out of the characters you really didnt like is great.
The main attraction comes from being able to match Cloud vs Tidus and see who would win, and Tidus vs Sephiroth.

its gonna be great to finally have all of Final Fantasy's greats, both good and evil ready to be played at your whim.

Put more effort in your post please, this is too short and classed as spam, thankyou

I think its Because its not out yet. Or its just not popular...... i care about it but theres been no new information. The only thing ive seen about it is Characters at Creative uncut.

If it was for a real platform I might actually care. All I can think when I see screens from the game is "You know, I should really pick up Super Smash Brothers sometime". If the game was actually done on a console I might care. Still, whenever Square does these side-projects (like Dirge of Cerberus) they always turn out shoddy and unpolished. I have no doubt that Dissidia will have a clunky control scheme, poor graphics, and will be less fun to play than "just the tip" with Philip Seymour Hoffman.

I'm quite interested in Dissidia. I think we'll finally find out why all of the FFs tend to be related in some way. Aside from that, it looks to be amazing, in short, purely based on the great diversity we're going to have, as well as the new ways of battling with these characters. Lastly, it'll give me another reason to buy a PSP. ;D
