I'm just interested as for whom the Americans on the forums will be voting as the next President of the USA. :wacky:

Everyone's welcome to vote, though. I've been trying to keep up with debates and such like (I'm watching one on BBC2 right now) and, from everything I've gathered, I seem to like Obama better - but I wont pretend to know everything about American politics. xD

The polls show Obama has a lead over McCain nationally. Right now I'd say Obama would win, but who knows?
I can't vote by the way, my damn 18th birthday is in December.

I also can't believe you watched an actual presidential debate. It seems way too tame. It really should be no-holds-barred. But P.C. and the parties themeselves prevent them from doing much more than just outlining their own and party policies.

I'll be voting for Obama come election day. He doesn't come off as someone who lacks the experience required to run a country effectively. In my opinion, he faired far better in the debates than McCain.

...and the possibility of Palin resuming the presidency if McCain should succumb to senility or some sort of sickness common in old folk is downright frightening.

Man, speaking of which, I still have to register.

Since I missed the initial deadline, I have to vote as soon as I'm registered. But the Grace period for registring ends next Tuesday. I've got to get on that! >_<

I can't vote because I'm not 18, but my brother's voting for Obama. We don't really like either candidate, but it would be much worse if McCain was elected instead of Obama. We also don't want to give Miss "I-Can-See-Russia-From-My-House" the chance to become president if something happens to McCain.

Sadly, my mother is conservative and might vote for McCain >_<

I would vote for Obama were I 18, but alas...

I think I heard that there's a 1/6 chance McCain would die in office, which is not comforting at all. If he won and kicked the bucket, one word: Palin. Oh god.

I'm defiantly voting Obama. I'm having enough trouble as it is with my health care and insurance issues, there is no way I could survive with McCain in office. For the first time in a while I don't completely despise the republican party but I must say, having Palin run with McCain gave him negative points in my book. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't mind as much if he got in.

Either way though I'm still voting Obama.

well i'm not very political in England and have no idea who would make a better president for America, but my mum enjoys watching all of the American polatics and what not. Something to do with a TV show she loves...but any way. i want Obama to win because if i said i wanted the other dude to win my mum would probably strangle me.

Im not a huge fan of politics, UK or US.

But I would vote for Obama. The man wants to do so much for his country and I think he is what America needs. McCain to me seems like another Bush and no-one needs that again. I do hope Obama wins and shows racists out there that at the end of the day its what you can do for your country, not what color skin you have.

wow, well Im going to try to make this short and sweet. Ive already voted, and i voted for McCain. Why?
Not because he looks good like Obama does
Not because he is a smooth talker like Obama comes off as(that doesnt say much and lies about what he does say)
Not because he says one thing to one group and another thing to another group--also like Obama does.

McCain isnt a socialist(read:COMMUNIST)
McCain isnt an elitist
McCain isnt a racist
McCain has a buttload of foreign policy experience
(Obama doesnt--in fact he has NO experience on ANYTHING)

Im sorry, but im not crazy about socialized healthcare, I like my operations timely--like before I die.

Obama on the 95% of Americans getting a tax cut---baloney. only 60-70% of Americans pay any taxes(with something like 70-90%of these taxes paid by "evil rich people"), so basically more free money to freeloaders if his mythical 95% actually held up.

man I could go on, but any informed person can see why Obama just isnt the way to go. Think of this, who do you think the Insurgants and others who would do ill will to the US want to win? Obama. Why? Because they can and would walk all over him. They are following this election too, with baited breath--look it up.

so much for short and sweet lol

Lul obama = socialist.
Clearly he is right? Because I was talking to him the other day, and he started off a sentence with, "Marx said to me..." and I thought, damn socialist.
Also what's wrong with socialists? They aim to create a classless society where everyone is equal. Bastards aren't they? Also it's very hard for a communist to be an elitist, there was Trotsky, but he was a genious, he could speak 7 languages and turned the pathetic Red Army into an awesome fighting force. I'd vote for him.
Also you are confusing elite, with elitest. An elitest is someone who focuses on only the best or elite. Someone who is intelligent, read Obama, is part of the elite. Quite clearly they are different.
So you're saying Obama is a racist? Obviously he must be hiding the fact that he is part of the Nation of Islam, and that he wants to kill all them white folk.
Obama has less experience, yet McCain picked Palin as VP, she has no experience at all, Obama was a Senator and has run a better campaign then McCain.

Yes, I know that those terrorists and insurgants want Obama to win. It's on Al-Qaeda.com
It's got some lovely pie charts showing how many of them want Obama to win, along with when is the best time to harvest your opium crop.

Blehh... I don't care for McCain or Palin at all, especially if McCain wins and dies in office, making Palin serve the remainder of his term...

I prefer Obama, as he has a better understanding of various key issues, like the economy... (and no, he's not a Muslim or muslin!)
